Basics
Name: Eiros [ear-ohs]
Gender: Stag
Age: 26 [human years]

His body is completely devoid of scars or blemishes and his facial features appear deceptively youthful.
Hobbies: Dancing, singing, telling stories and reciting poetry
Abilities: The ability to heal others through physical contact [These powers are explained below]
Color: #765671
Personality
Eiros is generally an introvert. First impressions are of a quiet, reserved individual - polite but guarded around those he isn't familiar with. He's an insecure fellow as well, always a bit paranoid and on edge, especially in the presence of imposing company. He is unsure of himself in the presence of others, and while he tries to be friendly and fit in his awkwardness and social cluelessness is more than obvious. The stag avoids physical closeness and contact – even around those he has good relationships with - yet he appears envious of it in others. He can become uneasy, frustrated or restless in the presence of overly affectionate couples or groups. You'd have to do some digging or know him well to figure out the reason's why.
Eiros is a ...conflicted stag when it comes to trust and forming bonds. While he has convinced himself that trusting and getting too involved in others isn't such a good idea... he can't really seem to help himself. In the end he can trust far too easily, to the point of being a little gullible. Doing so and divulging too much about himself to unworthy companions has gotten him into dire trouble in the past, but it's unlikely he wont make the same mistake again. Despite everything...there is nothing Eiros longs for more than being close to someone, and distance he keeps between himself and others can seem a bit strange once you get to know him. Eiros seems to take a genuine and sometimes deep interest in others and feels a strong sense of empathy towards them - appearing to be especially drawn towards those in need of compassion. Eiros possesses a determined and yet conflicted drive to help; either by healing, or just...brightening someone's day by being close or entertaining them with his stories, songs and dances. It's when he sets his mind to accomplishing this goal that you really see him break free of his shell. His is a confident and more than competent in his artistic crafts and seems to take quite a bit of pride in that...though as soon as he is finished he easily reverts back to his quiet, humble nature. But just because he desires to help...doesn't mean he's always willing to do so readily. He has learned to pace himself with his abilities, and actually appears to be very weary of sick or injured deer despite his concerns. He may spy on them, analyzing their condition as well as their character. Just how he judges who to heal and who not to is unknown, if there's any criteria behind it at all. It is a tough decision either way and one he does not take lightly.
With his abilities being what they are, it's difficult not to label him selfless – though his own sense of self preservation struggles to get in the way. Eiros can be incredibly brave and stoic when absorbing broken bones and lacerations, yet he hates any sort of confrontation or violence. He would rather cower or flee from danger or aggression than retaliate. The scrawny stag has no idea how to fight, though he may give it a tentative try if absolutely forced to defend his own well-being, or that of another. When in a weakened state he will reject all but familiar company, and even still be weary of them.
Abilities
- Heals through physical contact. It is an involuntary reaction.
- Heals by absorption, drawing the ailments of others into himself. Any injuries or illnesses the other has will be drawn from them and transferred to him, essentially swapping conditions with whoever he's in contact with.
- If he is in contact with a deer that is healthy, he will begin to draw in their 'healthy' energy, making them feel sick and/or weak after a prolonged period of exposure.
- Once he has absorbed an ailment, anyone who comes in contact with him before he has healed is more at risk for having their energy rapidly drained. Depending on the severity of the ailment, they may even begin to experience the same feelings of pain or illness – without actually being sick or injured. Think of them as 'phantom' sensations.
- Without borrowing excess energy from others, Eiros heals at the same rate as anyone else. The more energy he is able to draw from others, the faster he can heal himself.
- Despite being able to heal quickly, it is just as possible for him to die from his ailments. If the injury is too severe his body can go into shock and absorption may not work. The more severe the injury, the more energy he will need to quickly heal it before it threatens his life, and this can be difficult and put others in danger.
- Along with exchanging physical energies, Eiros can also exchange emotional energy. If someone he's in contact with is excited and he is calm, they too will start to feel calm while he will feel their excitement. Unlike physical energy however, emotional energy is easily changed and manipulated and the transference is nowhere near as effective. Once the other realizes what is happening they can easily shake the feeling off.
- Absorbing energy is a high for Eiros. It's an exhilarating rush, and just like a drug...can become addicting if he begins to over-expose himself to it.
In The Game
- Eiros cowers to show his general nervousness - it is not always fear. If you mean him no ill will he warms fairly quickly.
- If your deer gets close or touches him, he'll eventually nervously move away from them to avoid absorbing their energy. If your deer is injured (and I'm aware of it, that is) he'll keep a good distance.
- If you find Eiros initiating contact with your deer, this could be a sign of trust with friends and an attempt to comfort...or he could just be absorbing their energy
- If your deer is injured and Eiros boldly approaches and lays close beside them (He may ask they lay down if they aren't already), this means he intends to heal them. When he has finished he will stand. If your deer stands and breaks contact in the middle of it, they will only be partially healed (Or if he chooses to only partially heal them, I'll let you know OOC). He will then assume the injures he has absorbed.

I feel as if Cypher should
Though I do know that he did appreciate his company when trying to make heads or tails of the incident with Quill.
Poor Eiros. D: I think she
...I'll make her apologize later. Maybe throw her at Eiros. >_>
Steph: You're lucky Eir was
A proper introduction could be nice XD Or just a little rp, since they have met a couple times already now ha. You're right though they aren't very similar so who knows how that will go pfft...poor Eir DOES need different types of exposure. I hope someday he wont be so nervous anymore...
Ocean: Aww haha. He didn't really know what was going on between them, he kind of involved himself for the most part. No apologies needed! But you can chat with him if you'd like :3
finally, Saburo decide to
"hmm...Hello...to you...I'm sorry...if I hindered you...and Soona...you both looks...so silent...and soft...I just need...a good company...."
nice to see you c:
Eiros watched the stranger
“Hello...” he greeted softly. His head tilted to one side quizzically, eyebrows lifting in slight surprise at the words that followed.
“No...you did not mean to. Soona is... nervous of strangers. I am sorry to have watched you...you seemed lonely and...unwell. I hope my presence is not a bother...”
Holy God, so delayed ;___; I
~
A young doe by the name of Kasmir was preancing about. She hummed about gondals and roses. A weird tune for her mood today, but one she liked nevertheless. She was a litle less joyful than usual on this particular day, due to being ignored and the weather was a little diffrent that usual. She jumped around a tree, thinking about the next few notes in her little tune. A leaf fell on her back and she frowned, shking it off. She wondered if the tree was dying. Then a little flash of gold caught her eye. She smelled deer. She tuned with her eyes closed, beaming extrememly wide, hoping this stag wouldn't ignore her. "Well hello! My name is Kasmir! How are you, sir? What's your name?" She gave a quick curtsey, then sniffed then stuck her nose in the stag's pelt, sniffing him.
She, happy he he didin't walk off, began to prance around him. Now humming a different tune, her usual one. The one about sheep. She half waited for his response, half just enjoyed jumping around him.
Saburo was very surprised by
"I know, he is very nervous about deers around, but I believe in one day, we could to greet each other...I just don't know what to do, I'm watching him some time, and he always gone..."- speaks he sadly.
He looks to eyes of companion-"But you.. Could you tell me whats you name?...and....I'm really glad, you don't ran when I'm come to you...it's...very...good.... "
Kasmir: A cheerful, lilting
A cheerful, lilting melody drifted whimsically through the fog-less air. The sun was shining again, warm and welcomed rays of light washing over the forest to slowly dry up the dampened soil. The tune had roused the attention of the wandering stag. He had been hiding in the birch for days letting himself heal... The sun had finally lured him out of hiding – and now he followed the music. Where was it coming from? He slipped carefully through the trees, trying to be quiet though the limp in his step made him abnormally clumsy. The song had faded... he was certain it had been coming from somewhere around-
“Well hello!”
Eiros nearly jumped out of his skin as he stepped around the large trunk of an elder tree to nearly smack into the peppy doe. The taller stag stumbled back in surprise, wincing as the sudden movement sent a shot of pain up his leg and shoulder. His wide, violet eyes stared in bewilderment as erect ears snatched up the sudden onslaught of enthusiasm that left her rapidly moving lips.
“Um...hi...sorry, I-” the blonde stag struggled to catch up and compose himself – but was cut off as the little doe sprang forward and buried her face into his fur. There was a jolt as their skin made contact – or had he imagined it? It had been so sudden... it was too soon. Eiros flinched away from her, but she didn't seem to notice. She had already pulled away and was making her second pass around him, her little slender legs like springs beneath her. His nervousness fell away quickly as his eyes tried to follow her. Her energy was...infectious, and he found himself smiling uneasily.
“I'm...Eiros. I heard your songs... It is nice to hear such a pleasant, sunny tune after the dull weather we've been having...”
RiverCatRa:
A ghost of a smile played at the corner's of Eiros' mouth as the male spoke. He seemed to be such a caring, genuine creature... 'Why must you all be suffering so much...?' he thought to himself sadly. It didn't seem fair...
“Perhaps, if you are patient... good things come with time,” he encouraged, then looked away as a small blush rose to his cheeks. Patience... it seemed wrong of him to give such advice. He had never had to earn Soona's trust like that... it had simply been given. 'Twice' Shaking his head, he let his smile grow a little, all politeness as he turned back to face his companion.
“You may call me Eiros, stranger... and it is no trouble. Are you...alright?”
"Eiros...it's really good for
"Please, don't call me stranger...My name is Saburo. ...I'm..." -he tried to say "alright", but ... he felt, it's not right to lie. "I don't know what with me...I had a bad health, and...may b? fog...I don't know...I felt crushed. Don't worry, it's always happened with me, it's ok..."
he heared a familiar voice, it was a friend.
"Oh...Crux...so many time leave...I'm sorry" -he turns to Eiros, and bowed as down, as he can, - "I was very pleased to spend time with you, but I need to go. I will glad to see you in Forest again, feel free to come, if you want... " -and he ran to friend, as fast as he could now.
Kasmir beamed even wider. She
She stopped moving then, her face contorting in to a confused, strangled look. She hadn't thought to introduce herself! "OH!" She practically yelled, wasn't far off from her usual tone of voice, though. "My name is Kasmir! How are you? WHO are you? Have I met you before?" She stopped once again and looked back up at him skeptically, as he was smiling uneaisly. "Nah. I would've remembered you smell, kind of like... Warmth and kindness. Is it weird to say you smell un-selfish?" Her words came out in a ramble as they always do, and her face was still contorted in a confused twist.
She was arguing over too many things in her head and confused about other things the stag was doing. "Are you alright? You seem a bit uneasy." She went over to smell him again, just lightly touching his pelt this time, afriad he was going to jerk away, and then she would've lost another friend sshe could've made. She heard him complement her song, and she smiled as broad as she did when he first spoke to her before she smelled him the first time. "Ahh! Thankyou! No one has complemented me on my singin before! Except Misang, but I figured she was doing it just to make me feel better about myself after I get depressed. Which is pretty rare, considering my mood all the time. Hey, are you all right? You seem a little shaky and nervous... Every stag I meet is like that. They don't seem to like the way I prance around and talk so much... Look! Is that a frog?! I've never seen one so far out here before! Oh, but, anyway, Hi." She smiled again, then pranced around the stag a bit closer than before. Her head hurt abit from the wind, but she didn't care. She had someone willing to talk to her.
i like his design!
RiverCat: Eiros looked a
Eiros looked a little sheepish when he realized he hadn't asked the stranger's name – no, more that he had been caught not doing so. Names seemed personal to him...strange, since nobody else seemed to think so. Then the male's ears slid back along his head as the stran- ...as Saburo explained his illness. Bad health? The stag glanced over him wearily as his smile faded, a mixture of concern and unease in his gut. At least the stranger was being respectful with the space he kept between them...Eiros relaxed. He had nothing to fear.
“I'm sorry to hear that... It certainly was some gloomy weather,” he agreed quietly, his tone subdued as he recalled the days and nights spent alone during the fog in torment. Was he...better now? Would everything be okay again? Someone was calling out. Eiros blinked and turned his head to eye the presence in the distance.
“Oh...Crux...”
Saburo rose to his feet and gave him parting words with a polite bow. The blonde tensed to rise...but then remained settled where he was, smiling and nodding his head in acknowledgment.
“Very well... It was a pleasure. I wish you better health...Perhaps we will find each other again.”
With that the blue buck turned and ran to his companion. Eiros sighed and watched the two reunite on the horizon, laying his head against the smooth bark of the tree. He was alone again...but he did not feel lonely.
Kasmir:
She was making him dizzy. Round and round she went... Eiros finally quit trying to follow her with his eyes and stood rigidly within the circle of hyperactive energy. Finally she slid to a stop with a yell, turned...and introduced herself. Again. Then came a flood of other questions. His ears crept back along his blonde head, no longer attentive though he was still listening. He hadn't much choice in the matter, really. Her quick voice rose up to fill the forest, drowning out even the birds. The doe promptly answered one of her own questions. No, she didn't remember him...he smelled like what? …
“Is it weird to say you smell un-selfish?”
Eiros blinked, bewildered. “Um...a bit, yes,” he chuckled uneasily, slowly shaking his head, “But thank you...I suppose I could smell of worse things.” What a peculiar creature.
Then she started up again. Her face was lit with a stunning smile. The buck tensed when she once again drew closer, but this time he allowed it...and this time there was no shock. He simply watched and listened, uneasy but...trying. It was difficult. She practically radiated with energy, he could feel it even from a distance. What it must feel like... He swallowed. His own energy had been very much depleted. He hadn't come in contact with anyone for days... His body needed it. Craved it. He shuffled back a step, his skin shuddering.
Kasmir began prancing again, and Eiros took a heavy breath. The things he got himself into... When there was finally a pause in her torrent of speech he desperately tried to collect his thoughts to give her answers.
“As I...said before. I am Eiros. We haven't met – but I fear you will not soon be forgotten. I am alright, though I haven't got near your... amount of energy. Forgive me...I am a bit sore from some injuries still and I-... Well. I don't like being touched.”
There was no sense in covering up the obvious. It seemed a strange thing to say...even rude, but it was the only explanation he could give. He forced a reassuring smile to his lips, though her circular maneuvers were making it difficult for him to forget his nerves. He wasn't sure he could take much more of it.
“Do you...think you might stop doing that, please? I'm getting a tad dizzy.”
Tikwid: I'm glad! Much appreciated :3
Kasmir hummed one note from
She saw him shudder and halted. "Are... Are you okay? Are you sure your okay? Is there anything I could bring you? Perhaps berries? Water from the pond? Are you looking for somone inparticular to be around? I could help you find them. You seem sad or something... Are you tired?" She contiuned asking questions, now trouble a bit, and worried about the stag's beahviour.
She stopped abruptly again, looking at him as he tried to explain himself. He was actually trying to answer all her questions! She still was to worried to smile again, though. "I swear I remember you from somewhere before. I probably just saw you somewhere, though. I still don't believe your alright." Then he said something that troubled her even further. "Been around my energy? What do you mean by that? And... uh... It's all right. I'm sorry to here about your injuries, though. D-...Do you need anything? You don't like being touched?" She took a step back. "I... I'm sorry." Kas said, pinning her ears back against her head. She saw the forced smile, and heard his words and immeaditly stopped moving. She plopped down on the ground next to him. He immediate concern for a random stranger she'd just met... It was exactly like her. Her face was still twisted in concern.
Her smile faded as he
“I am new around here, but you might have seen me,” he answered carefully, “and I meant I don't have your energy... I'm still a bit tired. No, no, I'm fine, really. A day in the sunshine will do me some good. You don't have to apologize, either...”
His expression fell. Despite his tense muscles relaxing as soon as the little doe parked herself apologetically in the grass, he didn't feel at all right about it. He had somehow single-handedly blown the wind from her sails...
“I should be the one apologizing... I do not mean to worry you. Perhaps you can...show me where there's something good to eat? I would love to hear another song on the way... Forgive me though, I'm a tad slow...”
The stag was famished. He already knew where to find food in the forest but...the little doe seemed eager to help. His smile was soft and encouraging as he peered down at her, though his gut churned wearily at the idea of being in her strong presence much longer.
Kasmir didn't quite
"Yeah... That must be it. And... Uh... Am I very energetic?" She asked honestly. She was... Very perceptive when it cam to others, but when it came to herself, she was oblivious.
"O... Oh Okay... Yeah, the sunshine always does me good when I'm... down..." Which was hardly ever, but it did happen. She decided she liked Erios and really wanted to do anything to help him. So she stated so. "I really will do anything to help you. Anything at all... You seemed kind of sad. And... Still a bit nervous."
"I'm fine! I just want to find out whats wrong so I can help." She was quite blunt, wasn't she?
"I would love to show you where to eat! And, I don't mind if you slow, I probably need to walk slow for now, too. And as for a song, I think I have a perfect on for this occasion!" Her smile suddenly retuned as she sprung up and waited for Siros to get up, too. "It's perfect! Right between The birch forest and the first forest. I love it there, it's so green and delicious!" Her energy all of a sudden returned once he told her she could help. She waited for him to get up, and began humming a tune about Grasshoppers and Apples.
Eiros didn't really like
“Alright, sounds great...lead the way,” he chuckled, shaking his head as she spun and began prancing off. She began humming again, simple little tunes but ones he didn't recognize. Taking a deep breath, Eiros shook the strands of golden hair from his eyes before carefully limping along behind her.
Kasmir's mind continued to
"So... Who are you Eiros? What's your story?" She wondered if he may be shocked by the boldness of her question. But she awaited an answer, hoping it would help her piece things together.
oh track. and i would have
and i would have asked you i ´f you wouldlike to rp but i can see you are already rp'ing ^^
[Sorry this took so
The blonde was ignorant to the string of suspicious thoughts wandering through the little doe's head. He hadn't thought he'd acted in any mysterious sort of way that would rouse such thoughts, so why should he think anything? There were plenty of nervous sorts in the forest, and many more who were injured, he wasn't special right? His eyes wandered to take in the forest. A group of deer were gathered in the distance, chatting noisily as playful fawns ran around between them. A serene couple sat peacefully against one another in a sun beam. They seemed to be talking quietly, smiles gracing their lips. He swallowed. It reminded him of-...hm. Shaking off the thought, the brown stag focused his eyes forward again as the little doe returned from her energetic romp ahead. He hadn't minded being left behind...in fact he had been a bit relieved. It seemed to take all her concentration to walk as slowly as he was and the tension was overwhelming.
“So...who are you Eiros? What's your story?”
He blinked at the curious words before tilting his head down to peer at her thoughtfully. It was indeed blunt, yet it seemed a harmless question – at least, if he avoided the specifics.
“Hm...well, I suppose I'm a...wanderer of sorts. A minstrel...an entertainer. I have been searching for a new place to settle, for a time. This is by far one of the loveliest.”
Eiros smiled, once again letting his eyes wander around him in emphasis before he gazed down at her warmly. He hoped this answer would satisfy her.
“And you? Who is...Kasmir?”
Midnightrose: It's alright! :3 Anyone is welcome to start one.
nahh maybe later
[nahh it's okay 8D I'm reply
Kas was indeed, using most of ehr focus to stay behind. She could feel the tension in air, but she really wanted to be sure she heard his answer. He seemed to be a bit tweaked with her asking. She saw that his wounds weren't entirely healed, and it must not be confortable. But she figured he could sit and relax once they got to the spot. Which they almost were at. She saw him looking around, and she did, too, at this point. There was another little frog hopping through, right next to them. She smiled, and went to sniff at it, then remember Eiros, and didn't. He spoke then, his answer to her question. It was amazing, she thought. "Woah... That's so cool! I would love to wander about... But I think I'm a bit to shy for that." She said, still jumping about a bit and humming.
Then he asked her about herself. She stopped dead in her tracks, jaw still hanging open. "Ah... Uh... Uhm..." She tried to answer, but she was truly shocked. Kas knew she should've been expecting this, after asking him and all, but she was a bit struck by the question, memories flowing back to her in a steady stream of hate and sadness. She stood like that for a few more seconds, then shook it off, gulped and spoke again, voice higher than before now. "I.. Uh... I've lived in this forest since I was a fawn. Misang is my mother, Jax my father. I have a rather uneventful life... Tell... Tell me more about yourself?" Maybe her answer wasn't entirely true, but it was what she had remembered, before. She looked at Eiros now, and pushed back her memories even more. She swallowed again and went back to prancing and humming, bouncing back from shell-shocked into happy. A mostly fake happy, but happy nevertheless.
He laughed quietly at her
Her reaction to his similar question however was...quite different. It had been an innocent inquiry for Eiros. He hadn't wanted to know any intimate details about the little doe...just the basics, as he had given. Yet it seemed to trigger something in Kasmir that immediately showed on her face. She stopped in her tracks. The stag paused, his ears laying back as he realized he'd asked something he shouldn't have. Her wide eyes stared at him, but they weren't seeing him...they were seeing something else; some thought or some memory. He knew the look... Finally whatever images she was conjuring faded away with a shudder and she looked at him again and spoke. Eiros frowned, brows creasing in worry. What... what had she thought of? What could have happened to this happy little doe to have warranted such a reaction? The answer she gave was quick and basic before she stammered out another one for him.
The blonde might have gotten nervous about her digging deeper into his own life were he not so sorry about being responsible for her momentary dampening of spirit - though, it seemed to be returning quickly enough. But no...not like before. Her face lit up in another smile and her legs danced beneath her again...but her movements were tenser now. Eiros hung back as she started forward again, watching her -thinking - then he slowly followed after her again.
“There is not much more to tell I'm afraid. My mother was a traveler as I am. I can't tell you where I was born for we didn't remain there long... Though we did eventually settle for a time in a place many forests from here. My mother wished me to mature there and make friends...but I guess wandering was in both of our blood and we were restless, and we were off again. I chose to go my own way though, eventually...to see my own sights. I wanted to...help others. Entertain them.”
The stag's voice was level as he spoke, betraying nothing as he conjured a story of his past. It wasn't a lie. A small smile finally returned to his lips after he paused and he glanced down at her thoughtfully.
“By the way...I wouldn't have thought you as shy. I think you'd make a fine little gypsy...”
She saw him laughing, and was
Kas saw his face when she stopped moving and speaking. She did supposed it was a bit startling. But she was pretty shaken up, herself. Images of her brother lying as a cold lifeless lump on the ground... Her dad being branded... Flashes of crimson. Wolves. It killed her when ever these memories surfaced. Eiros had been so nice to her, though. She didn't want to burst out into tears like she did with Blue... And she didn't want to scare him. For some reason, his physce seemed pretty fragile. She didn't quite know why. Maybe because he was no quiet and nerveous towards her. Maybe it was just because she was so arrogant and perceptive, that the two clashed and told her things that weren't true. Her head swam with screams and tears and blood... It was still there when she began prancing again. Trying to ignore it, she focused on Eiros's story. Maybe if she kept asking questions, she'd forget... Yes... That has to work... It has to...
Eiros seemed a bit sad that she'd fallen down so hard. But as she clawed her way up, he answered her question. It was interesting... Erios seemed to have an amazing life! Being able to wander as a fawn with his mother? Then coming to this forest and making friends with the wonderful deer here? My! What could he not like?! Kasmir marvled at his little story, little doe eyes shining. She'd completely forgotten about her horrid memories as she herd him speak. "Wow Erios! That's amazing! I would have LOVED to have that life! Did you meet a ton of deer? Did you make lots of friends? Are there better forests that this one? How did you help people? Who'd you entertain? That is so amazing!" She marvled, throwing too many questions out there all at once. Her perceptiveness was chased away once again by her ADHD, partly in effect with the rambling and facination, but... Where'd she conjured up the abillity to focus? Huh. Weird. But she was amazed. She wanted to know more... "Hey Eiros... What you said earlier? About not liking to be touched? Is that why you flinched when I sniffed you?" The question broke through with no warning, like she hadn't really expected it. She shook it off, though and went back to being amazed. Her eyes shining as she looked up to Eiros like he was her hero or something. He was smiling again. This made her even more ecstatic.
"A gypsy? You knew gypsies?! What were they like? Are they like me? Is that why I would make a good one? Wow!" Her little voice peeked up high, and she wouldn't have been surprised if her feet lifted up off the ground and she started to float around Eiros in wonder! His stories were amazing! She could hardly believe that there was a place beyong the forest before... And she never would've thought gypsies! She waited for him to answer he new questions with an Awe-struck face and shiny little doe eyes locked on his face, amazed.
Her reaction to his tale was
“Easy, easy,” he chuckled in a futile attempt to calm her, slowly shaking his head as it grew overwhelmed by her inquiries. He wasn't sure he had ever felt so interesting as he did to this little doe. At least, not when a particular side of himself was excluded. It was...kind of pleasant, if not completely disorienting.
“Lets see...I suppose I have met a lot of deer, but friends...well, no. Each forest has its own charm I guess...And... Oh dear I've forgotten the rest in that go,” the stag blushed, despite having done pretty well considering. He paused a moment to consider her latest questions with a bit more careful thought.
“As for not liking to be touched... It's just a tick of mine, I guess. Been that way for a long time.”
He glanced away from her sheepishly, hoping his subtle avoidance of the topic would shake her loose. He did not enjoy lying – though he had yet to tell a direct lie, only avoid certain critical truths.
“As for gypsies...” he began again, amusement returning to his tone as he glanced at her sideways, his smile morphing into a rare mischievous grin, “My mother was a gypsy. Is one now again, I guess... I suppose by blood that might make me one too? Though I don't consider myself that... I don't follow the same rules.”
He closed his eyes and lowered his head some, his grin fading back to a smile. A sad smile. His stomach clenched and grumbled, reminding him of his neglected hunger and shaking him out of whatever memory he conjured.
"She was energetic, like you... You have to have a certain amount of stamina for travel. Not to mention a love for it."
Kas say that maybe he
"Forgotten? Am I doing that thing where I'm hard to keep up with, again?" She said. It's almost frightening how little she knew about her own tendancies.
He started to tell her that his mother was a gypsy. She listened intently. She was about to answer him when she turned and saw him sad. Her face tuned forlorn. Why was Erios so sad all of a sudden?
She noticed they were finally at the spot with all the greenery. "Stay here." She said, then pranced away and dove into the bushes. She popped back out after a few minutes. With her back to Eiros, she walked up to him. When she got close enough, she popped around, and dropped and apple at his feet. "Ta-daa!" She said, with a smile, hoping it would cheer him up a bit.
"Look, I don' normally do
"I ain't gonna go into details 'cause it ain't yer business, but I wasn' runnin' from yew or Cypher. Jus' needed a few minutes alone an' all. Look, I appreciate yer concern an' all too. Seein' as yew followed Cyph. Jus'...that's about all, actually," she stated practically in one breath, only pausing when she ran out of things to say. For a moment, she stood there blinking, almost confused, then nodded.
"So, I hope that clears things up. An' I'm sorry I didn' stay an' say hello." The deer seemed to be visibly collapsing or perhaps deflating from her earlier bravado. Now she seemed normal, losing the defensive tone that edged her voice. Indeed, a little smile cracked her face and she winked.
"Now that that's all over with, the name's Quill. What can I call yew, mister?" she asked politely, executing a little bow.
Kasmir: “It's difficult to
“It's difficult to make friends when you're always on the move,” the stag covered for himself quickly. Her compliment had surprised him though. Did he...really seem that way? Like he should have friends? What did a person who should have a lot of friends seem like? I'm your friend. The statement made him smile. He knew it was just the fleeting heart of a hyper little doe talking, but hearing it was still...nice.
“Well...thank you very much.”
Just in time, it seemed they had reached their destination. Kasmir ordered him to stay put and he obeyed, shuffling to a stop and pricking his ears forward as she leapt off into the bushes. Hm... A little cluster of dandelions drew his attention as he allowed his idle eyes to wander. Eiros wandered over to the little flowers and lowered his head to inhale their sweet smell. Wasting no more time, he popped one of the sunny heads into his mouth and chewed is satisfaction. The rustling of leaves drew his head up again. The blonde blinked when he saw the doe returning...walking backwards. He cocked his head to one side quizzically as his eyes carefully followed her all the way back to where he stood. It must have taken quite a bit of restraint for her, he imagined.
“Ta-daa!”
Eiros leaned back in mock surprise as she energetically spun to face him and a little round fruit fell from her mouth at his hooves. He blinked down at it before lowering his long neck, allowing his teeth to gingerly bite into it from the ground. As the sour juice gushed from the waxy skin where his teeth bit in he recognized the taste immediately. The blonde eagerly chewed and swallowed before taking another bite.
“It's been a long time since I've had one of these...I did not know they grew here,” he mused, smiling up at her as he ate.
“You must have a secret stash? Thank you...for sharing it with me.”
Quill:
Eiros had been resting when the little doe approached him. A soft tune was hummed from his lips as he rested his head against one of the twin birches that hugged him – and it was cut short by the sound of her hurried steps. Slowly opening his eyes, the stag was startled to see that she was much closer than he anticipated. His muscles tensed and he shifted upright quickly, ready to rise to his feet upon seeing the irritable expression on her youthful face...yet something stopped him. His eyes narrowed upon her curiously as she spoke, a glimmer of familiarity registering in his brain as he looked her over more closely. He knew her...but-
...Ah.
Her words were quick to remind him why. The little red doe he and Cypher had wandered after in the woods, how could he forget. Of course, he'd only met her briefly...it was the strange stag's reaction to her that was the unforgettable part. He had been so...crushed by her departure. So lost. The tormented emotions had frightened Eiros a little. There was so much about that stag that set him on edge, and yet...he had tried to help. Part of him – some morbid curiosity he hadn't been aware he'd possessed – wanted to know more. But Eiros had no idea what his relation to this doe was. Were they friends? Lovers? He didn't care...it indeed was none of his business. So why was she here? Apologizing?
As the female came to the end of her rambling explanation-that-wasn't, the blonde got the impression she wasn't sure why, either. A soft frown remained steady on his lips, his eyes apprehensive, even as her posture deflated and her tone smoothed.
“Now that that's all over with, the name's Quill. What can I call yew, mister?”
“...Eiros,” the stag offered quietly, his soft, high voice sounding much more feminine than her own.
“I'm...sorry, but...I'm not sure why you're apologizing to me. It isn't necessary...I only did what I felt was right. In the end I suppose I was no help at all...I guess I should be apologizing.”
The corner of his mouth was suddenly tugged upward in a wary smile, though his eyes reflected his serene sadness.
“But I appreciate the sentiment all the same, miss Quill. You have a noble heart...”
"Huh. You just seem like... I
"And, of course I'm your friend, Eiros! I enjoy being around you. You make me feel... Calm." Another strange, deep explination.
She watched him eat the apple, happy as all get out. "I didn't know they grew here either, until I was prancing by and fell into the bush, finding one." She smiled, again. His next words, though, made her blush and her eyes grow wide.
"A... A stash? How did you... Figure that out? You're sure sure smart, Eiros. But you can't tell anyone. If it gets back to Blue or Ode or Sonnet, they may kill me because I haven't shared before." Her eyes all wide and warning. Then she snuck into a diffrent bush, pulling out some red and blue berries. She then lay next to him, nibbling at her berries. Her eyes peered up, looking at the the mighty tree in front of the bush that held her apple stash.
"Oh look! A mushroom! And the good kind!" She popped up and ran to the tree, only then realizing once she was there that the shroom was to high to reach.
She popped onto her hind legs, trying to reach it with her front forearms. After still not reaching it, she braced the tree, shimmy-ing up a bit, reaching for it. She was about a foot off the ground now, and was still reaching. She streched up farther, almost touching it, then... She lost her brace on the tree and fell to the groung with a tiny doe scream/squeak. She hit the ground with an audible thud and a tiny scracking sound.
"OWWW... Oh Gosh... That's not good... Oh Gods... Ow... Owow...!" She said, exclaiming her pain. She looked down to examine her right foreleg. It was practically snapped in half. Defentally broken. "Eiros... What do I do...? Ow..." She squeaked, voice all high. Her face was red, and her eyes brimming with tears. She'd never broken anything before.
"I'm apologizin' because it
"Eiros, eh? 'S a nice name." Quill nodded, tilting her head to the side and glancing in his eyes. Sadness? What was that doing there? Quill's dark, nearly black eyes narrowed, though they quickly flashed with sympathy.
"No apologizin', Eiros. I don' see why yew should be anyhow, yew didn't do nothin' 'cept follow me. Which wasn' the best idea but I can see why you did it anyhow." Quill shrugged, glancing him over again. He had a strange air about him, something she couldn't quite place. She put it down to sadness.
Then the red deer suddenly burst out laughing at his last sentence. "Don't yew 'noble heart' me, Eiros! I ain't nothin' of the sort. Yer fancy sayin's are lost on me, ta say the least." A friendly light lit in her eyes and she laughed quietly. How amusing! A noble heart...She would have to remember that one.
well now i want to rp ^^
Kasmir: Hi there...okay.
Hi there...okay. Ummmmm...I'm just gonna come out and say it XD I'm not really okay with your post up there...the end bit, at least. I think you know what I'm talking about. It wasn't really a cool thing to try and pull...and for the protection of my character I'm going to ask that you either A. Change your post and edit that bit out, or B. We discontinue this interaction. I hope you understand...I just want Eiros to get back on track seeing as he just suffered some emotional turmoil and throwing something improbable like that in his path is not the way to go about it XD'
Quill: [It's REALLY late here so please excuse any sloppiness D8]
She was a talkative one, this little doe. Despite not completely getting the point of her words, Eiros found himself...quite enjoying the way she spoke. It was an unusual accent and dialect, quite the opposite to his own really...and yet it flowed off her tongue in a relaxed, easy way. He found himself getting lulled into it... At some point the stag had relaxed again. His wary eyes grew bright and focused as she spoke to him as though they were long-time friends. At least, this was his impression. Her manner was so relaxed and casual she might have lured anyone into its trap.
Unfortunately for the blonde, he was far more empathetic than your average deer and barely put up a fight. So as much as her sudden laughter surprised him, he found himself equally amused by his choice of words.
“Perhaps you're right...but I don't think you give yourself enough credit,” he smiled gently, tilting his head carefully to one side.
“But I think I understand your meaning a bit better now... In that case, apology accepted. Keep in mind though that I rarely do involve myself in anything I don't mean to. It's really no trouble at all. I...hope you have patched things up with your friend?”
Cypher's tormented expression entered into his thoughts again. He had felt the strange male had barely tolerated his presence before...Eiros wondered if he'd be able to summon the courage to approach him again. Yet if this little doe was a companion of his...surely there must be more to the white stag than meets the eye. Was he as swept up in the quirky female's mannerisms as he was?
[[Same here. xD]] Quill
Quill rolled her eyes. "An' I think yer givin' me way too much, buddy." With a bounce, she executed another bow, grinning. "Glad it's accepted, Eiros. If it hadn't been, we'd have a serious problem. I might have ta beatcha up." For a moment, she managed a serious face, then laughed again and gave him a little wink.
"Ehh, fine, fine! Involve yerself all yew want." Quill flicked an ear, still grinning. At his question, she sighed. "Yeh, wasn't his fault anyhow. We're all good now an' everything. I think anyhow. Prolly confused the poor guy!" The deer snorted, tossing her head and prancing a little, though a slight blush rose in her cheeks. Of course, she was embarrassed he had noticed her...issues.
"So, yew two friends or somethin'? You an' Cypher? I noticed yew followin' him and stuff, plus he was watchin' yew an' some other guy when I me 'im. Not very well, if I say so myself. He ain't too good at hidin', that one."
may i mke and rp here or
Oh! I wasn't trying to pull
That's actually not what I was doing at all. But I can change it if you like. I wasn't trying to make it bad or hurt Eiros ;o; I'm sorry.
I can repost. But... We don't have to rp if you don't want to.
[e]"Huh. You just seem like... I don't know. You have this quailty that draws people to you, Eiros. That, is why I thought you would have many friends." She said with ease. "In a way, you sort of remind me of Fantasia. Minus the selfish part." She didn't bother to metion who Fantasia was, because he might think bad of her. The little doe didn't want this from Eiros. Whatever it was about him, it made her want to be around him, as well.
"And, of course I'm your friend, Eiros! I enjoy being around you. You make me feel calm." Another strange, deep explination, with a happy smile, though.
She watched him eat the apple, happy as all get out. "I didn't know they grew here either, until I was prancing by and fell into the bush, finding one." She smiled, again. His next words, though, made her eyes grow wide.
"Oh look! A mushroom! And the good kind!" She popped up and ran to the tree, snatching it off the bark with a small ripping sound.
She pranced back over to Eiros. Before she lay back down, she cut the mushroom in half, giving one side to Eiros. She sat then, nibbling at her meal. She had had a strange day and was abput ready to curl up by the pond and fall asleep. Her eyes drooped a bit as she was eating her food. "Hey Erios... Do you know what time of day it is? Is it late?" She said, finsihed her berries and such and laying her head on her hooves to rest.
Quill: He was beginning to
He was beginning to feel awkward, keeping his seat. She was a ball of energy, standing and wiggling and prancing before her. Perhaps it was rude of him not to rise to his feet as well...but it seemed easier at this height. No need to tower over the little doe unnecessarily – even if she was threatening to 'beat him up'. Eiros fought back his amusement, keeping it subdued behind a tense smile. Once again, he waited for her to finish speaking. As the subject switched to Cypher, the blonde pulled back his ears and glanced away from her uncertainly. He had become aware of being watched by the odd stag a couple times now...and he would be lying if he claimed it didn't make him very uncomfortable. It was perhaps the only reason he had approached Cypher that day. Maybe if he got to know him... Maybe if he found out what he was all about, the male would leave him be. It had turned into more than that, of course. He hadn't found out anything about the clothed deer at all...
“No, we aren't friends... He just...invited me along. I can't say I know why.”
He paused, then slowly drew his eyes around again to hers, brows furrowing above them in thought.
“Do you know why? Why he...watches others?”
'Why he watches me?'
Kasmir:
[Mm...Well snapping your characters leg is a pretty serious thing...and doing it in front of someone who you knew could heal her is a little suspicious to me XD' But I'll take your word for it I suppose...]
A quality that draws people? Hmm... Eiros had honestly never thought about it much. He of course had the annoying habit of being drawn to others, but them being drawn to him? The stag almost wished to ask her to explain further...but didn't. She was probably just being friendly...and The Gods knew he would most likely not be able to keep up with her answer anyways.
Back to the scene with the apple, the stag finished up his treat and laughed lightheartedly at the doe's scrambling. He'd found out her secret, had he?
“I wont tell...I promise,” he chuckled, shaking his head. As she ran off again Eiros wandered away from her a little, picking up a couple more dandelions. He lifted his injured leg off the ground as he knelt down, careful to avoid the weight. Kasmir returned and settled beside him. He quietly thanked her for the mushroom offering and nibbled at it in peace.
“It's a little past midday,” he informed her quietly when she'd asked, lifting his head from his snack to gaze up at the sky. The sun was high above them, tilting toward the west. He squinted his eyes at it glimmered through the trees then blinked as he turned away.
“It seems you've tired yourself out with all that energy of yours,” Eiros observed with amusement as he watched Kasmir sink lower and lower into the dirt. The tall stag remained on his feet.
“You should rest.”
Midnightrose Go ahead :3
thank you. Cyperus was
Cyperus was laying under a rock on the playground he was sitting in his own thourghts. it was a lovley day in the forest and he decided to go to the pond. he went in nice trot down to the pond but wasen't lookig right and then he bumbed in a stranger. ''oh i' so sorry i haden't seen you''
Cyperus: Eiros wasn't sure
Eiros wasn't sure how long he'd been staring out into the water. It was becoming a frequent habit for him these days, to wander to the water's edge and watch the brightly colored fish skim the surface, warming their sparkling scales in the sun. It was a mesmerizing spectacle, really, if you truly stopped to appreciate-
Something bumped him. The stag had come out of nowhere...or had he really not been paying any attention? The blonde flinched from the unexpected contact, sidestepping away to catch his balance. His ears pinned back, then twitched forward uncertainly as he turned to eye the stranger in surprise. The offending stag quickly apologized.
“It's...all right,” he answered hesitantly, lowering his head a little to send a somewhat nervous glance around him.
Perhaps she was making him
There was a small pulse at the edge of her vision. Mother was watching more closely, perhaps curious about this quiet stag. Quill blinked it away, listening to his questions. For a moment, she paused, thinking. Did she know? Not really. Quill couldn't quite explain why he was so intent on observing other deer. It confused her. It didn't fit with the picture of him, in her mind; he was so quiet. She hesitated a few seconds more, then began to speak.
"I dunno, Eiros, buddy. I don' unnerstand it meself. He just does, far as I know. I dunno why he invited you 'long either, but I guess...mebbe he's innerested? Curious, y'know? Guess he wouldn' be watchin' yew an' others if he didn' have some kinda innerest in yew guys. Cain't say I know where it lies, but I don' think he means yew any harm." Quill seemed to be thinking deeply about something, then shook her head. That was the best she could come up with.
"So I'm curious then. Why'd yew decide to get involved, eh? Just curious what a nutcase like me was doin'? Or perhaps mah amazin' charm drew yew in." Quill winked and laughed. She hadn't been exactly 'charming' to the poor stag when they'd first met.
As soon as he said it, Eiros
The red female didn't give him a chance to let the unease grow any further. Her question made him look up again, his expression blank as he'd fought to internalize his wearier emotions. Her laughter and wink drew his smile back.
“At first I...wanted to get to know him. I thought I could help... That's supposed to be my job, you see – to distract from the woes of others. I guess...I'm a bit out of practice though...I'm not very good at it, turns out. ”
His smile widened sheepishly before he allowed himself to laugh, closing his eyes and shaking his head.
“That's all. I'm sorry... I wish I could offer you a more interesting explanation. I just hope everything managed to work itself out alright...”
Quill had noted the light
Unless they crossed a line. Of course, Eiros hadn't, so she was puzzled by any signs of shyness around her. When she saw him smile again, her ears perked up and she nodded to herself. Good. At his words, she found herself chuckling.
"An' yew call me a noble heart? Look at yerself. Such a sweetheart if I ever did see one, mmhm! It's a good thing yer doin', helpin' others like that. Folks around here need distractin' from hurts." For a moment, Quill looked confused. She had remembered something, some rogue feeling of hurt, but she couldn't place who had caused it or where it had come from. Her expression darkened as she tried to trace it, but found nothing--as if the strands of her memories had been cut or frayed. With a shake of her head, she bounced up again, attempting to forget the puzzling sensation.
"'Ey, 's a good explanation if I've ever heard one, yeah? Don' worry, it worked out in the end. Everythin' does!" Though she couldn't remembered exactly why she had been running from Cypher in the first place. Just that she had and it had been for some...some personal reason? Quill grunted and shook her head.
"So what's a kind soul like yew doin' out here all alone? Somethin' about that seems real odd to me, Eiros," she stated, her eyes glittering.
Cyperus raises up and nodded
Quill: Quill surely enjoyed
Quill surely enjoyed making him blush, for her sweet words sent another wave of heat to his cheeks. He was thankful that part of his face was hidden by his mask – though certainly not enough to conceal him completely. It was strange though...Eiros was hardly full of himself but he did know his strengths and wasn't overly modest when it came to complements. So what was different about hers? Despite his embarrassment, the stag's smile remained this time. One might even say it had finally grown to meet his eyes. Whatever paranoia had been brewing was forgotten beneath the weight of her enthusiasm.
“I'm glad to hear it...I envy your optimism and wholeheartedly wish you are right,” he spoke warmly, his brows arched high and impressed above his eyes. It was truly a wonder, to be so small and energetic and full of life... The blonde wondered what made up such a creature. Why he was the way he was, and not like her? And vice versa? Oh, if only he could...touch her. Briefly. Just a little peek. Maybe then he would understand... A little breath of air escaped his lips in a singular dry laugh as she questioned his lack of company. One side of his mouth relaxed and his smile became lopsided in response.
“Being alone isn't always so bad... Now, odd though...no, I did not intend to appear odd.”
His violet gaze danced upon her with new-found amusement, then briefly shifted to the side and glided upwards against the white bark of one of the birches that hugged either side of him. The young trees grew in a peculiar way, shooting skyward and then leaning into each-other until their trunks eventually crossed.
“I don't feel so alone, anyways, with these two...” he spoke a little more quietly, subconsciously shifting his weight from side to side to feel the light touch of both of them. He felt...embraced.
Cyperus:
Sigh. Introductions again. Why was everyone in such a hurry to give out their names? Eiros forced his eyes back upon the stag, his ears planing in uncertainty. He was a little shaken still, not liking being caught unaware, but...the male in front of him seemed equally nervous. His smile was shy and his eyes avoided the blonde's.
“I'm... Eiros. You should...be more careful where you're going around the pond. It can be slippery... Wouldn't want to fall in.”
Cyperus made a nervous chukle
Quill noticed the blush and
The little red deer felt an urge to give him some sort of reassuring nuzzle, perhaps just to make sure she wasn't really embarrassing him. Oh, she would tease, but if it went too far, she would stop. Quill didn't enjoy when it got to that point. Simply thinking about it caused a quiet wave of anger to crest in her for a moment. Faking a smile for a moment, she shook it off.
"Optimism? Boy, yew got the wrong deer fer that! I jus' say the truth, Eiros, I calls 'em as I sees 'em, as the sayin' goes. Sorry kid, yer stuck a sweetheart." No, she wouldn't nuzzle him. Quill forced herself to stay back. She had some slight feeling it might either turn his entire body tomato-red out of embarrassment and shyness, the way this was going. It'd only make her good intentions worse. Quill rolled her eyes. What a nut.
"Well, yer odd, boy, but there ain't a single creature in this here forest that can say they ain't." Quill laughed again, ears picking up. Her head tilted to the side and she looked quizzical as he leaned against the trees. For a moment, she studied them. Perhaps there were more spirits in the forest?
"Do them trees speak to yew?" she asked, not a hint of sarcasm or meanness in her voice. In fact, Quill seemed wholly serious in her question.
Cyperus: The corners of his
The corners of his mouth lifted in a polite smile as he nodded his head in acknowledgment to his thanks. His eyes then followed the stag as he carefully approached the water's edge and waded in to drink. The blonde sighed, letting his gaze shift down to his hooves that had become half buried in the mud, and then the water that lapped at dry land only inches away. Shaking out his fur, the male lowered his neck to sip at the water himself.
Quill:
He laughed with her – and almost let himself go this time. It was a somewhat louder, more genuine sound, and the hidden masculinity in his voice came out as he drew on some deeper tone in the back of his throat.
“I guess you're right about that,” he agreed with an acknowledging bow of his head. This forest was indeed a wonder he had not come across before. So many strange and unusual creatures here...slowly but surely Eiros was beginning to realize maybe...maybe he wasn't so different here. 'So foreign.' Of course, this only made him slightly more at ease. Not all of the forest oddities were good oddities. His ears flicked back again when he recalled the deep cuts and distinctive teeth marks he had absorbed from Soona. Something had attacked him...Something terrifying. It was still out there.
“Do them trees speak to you?”
The blonde blinked away his gruesome thoughts and tilted his head back down to offer a quizzical stare. His brows flexed briefly, thinking at first that she was making fun of him, but his expression relaxed upon seeing the genuine curiosity in her eyes. Hmm...speaking of odd. But no, Eiros wasn't entirely surprised by the nature of the question. He had come upon a small handful of individuals in his time wandering than had claimed they could communicate with nature. He had always felt envious of them... Was this what she meant?
“No... No I'm afraid not,” he responded slowly, his voice once again quiet. He was looking at them again, letting his gaze glide over the random patterns in their bark.
“Though I wonder what they would have to say. I would hope they...didn't mind my presence here.”
"We ain't that normal here.
For a moment, she thought, wondering how much to tell him. After all, they'd just met. Quill decided not to let much go. "Ahh, tha's tew bad. Some deer I know kin talk to things." Quill shrugged, as if she'd heard it from some acquaintance or distant friend, as if it wasn't related to her at all. "I don' think they'd object. After all, they's bound to have other deer sit 'neath them, all much less friendly than yerself. I'm sure they 'precciate the quiet." The deer flashed him a smile.
"So if they don' talk to yew, how do they go about givin' yew company? Jus' curious, really. Yew don' have to answer if I'm bein' nosy again." Her dark, nearly black eyes glittered softly.
Out of the corner of his eye
Now it was his turn to be wary. Their conversation drifted even closer to secrecy when she once again inquired about the trees. Her interest was a bit puzzling...what did it matter? He would never voice such thoughts, of course – and even when given the option not to answer her, it didn't sit right with him. For whatever reason, the little red doe was taking an interest...and not in anything important, but in the little mundane details. There was something charming and even a little intriguing about that. They had already established he was 'odd' so what was the harm?
“Well... It's just their closeness, you see... Their embrace. The way I feel them on either side. I feel...held together. They aren't deer but...they are alive. I feel their en-...Mm. I cannot talk to them but I sense they know I'm here. They feel me like I feel them.”
He tilted his face away to hide his doubting smile, as though he was expecting some sort of ridicule for his explanation.
Quill heard his answer and
They often helped her survive.
So what was this about 'en'? From inferring, she guessed the best word would be 'energy'. So why was he hiding it? He didn't seem the type to have any horrible, dark secrets. Then again, sometimes the quiet ones had the darkest thoughts. Quill's ears pinned back for a moment in thought. Either way, if he was hiding something, she couldn't imagine soft-spoken Eiros being a murderer or criminally insane. Her thoughts turned back to the conversation.
"Yer inneresting, Eiros. Lotsa things have got spirits 'round this place, so I don' doubt what yew say."
You are observing well, Child. The sudden sound of the voice made her jump slightly and she winced.
You're nosy. Quill's nose wrinkled in distaste and she turned her head to Eiros, trying to catch his eye.
"I should introduce yew ta Mother sometime, eh? She'd like ta meetcha." Her voice subtly hinting that 'mother' was something special, perhaps beyond a normal doe.
Oddly enough, it wasn't
“Interesting, huh?” he chuckled, slowly shaking his head. The little bell dangling from his antler jingled quietly in response to the motion.
When she spoke again, Eiros looked up in surprise. Introduce him to...mother?. There was a strange emphasis on the familiar word he couldn't place, but his first reaction was to be weary. Sitting up a little straighter, his brows knit in apprehension.
“O-oh...? Why...why do you say that?” the stammered, getting a bad feeling in his gut again. No, no...he was being silly. He was sure the comment was perfectly harmless...right?
Quill nodded, grinning at
At his question, her eyes opened and she gave him a friendly look. However, something deep within her gaze glinted and flashed, though only for a moment. If a deer was particularly observant, they might be able to pick out that it was worry, perhaps mixed with a little hesitation. It was easily missed, though. Perhaps he hadn't noticed, she reasoned.
"Not like we're datin' an' I'm introducin' yew like that, ta be clear. Always gotta clear that up, y'know. By Mother, I mean the Crying Idol." Indeed, the markings on Quill's face closely mirrored the twin streams of water from the Idol. Her dark eyes could look like caverns at times, nearly pitch black. Perhaps some would see a resemblance between the two.
Do bring him. I would like to feel him closer.
Quill ignored the soft voice, flicking her ears as if it was a bothersome fly. "Mother likes ta meet people, y'see. She's kinda lonely all the way out there. 'sides, she thinks yer inneresting." Quill shrugged, wondering if she'd said too much.
