It sounds like you're thinking along the lines of a deer-version of Wolf Quest.

This game, it's more about exploration and discovery, in a scenic environment, living agelessly as one of the world's inhabitants. Seeing what you can do, learning how to communicate and play without language and other inhibiting factors you would find in typical role play games.

The creators have often thought the gaming medium could be used for other purposes than just leveling up, survival games. They like to create games as means of story telling and artistically free exploration, which is what Endless Forest is proudly known to be. So you see, adding in goals, like avoiding predators and proliferating, would take away the intention of what it is now

However, there are many players who do choose to create characters that have many traits that are role played here on the community. Many do have mates and large families. Some aren't even deer.

As for additional features like new landmarks...well, all that takes money to add in, and we're somewhat short on that, so it takes a long while to see updates. But we do have weather changes (in fact you missed a lovely spring shower and a glorious twilight the other day) and other nice surprises you will find on your own later
