I have a question...

There are some rather playful looking emotes I think might be something that could scare or upset other deer in real life settings on the game, so I was wondering if someone might be able to let me know which ones are upsetting, which are playful, etc.? Especially that emote that lets you rear up. That could be seen as a challenge in a real life forest, so I want to ask if that one is suggesting play or a fight???
(Yes, I compare this game a LOT to the way real deer might behave and sometimes that leads me to get confused with the emotes somehow.)

They all can be taken in

They all can be taken in different ways! It really depends. There's always play fighting versus actual fighting~ Personally, I use all of the emotes in both ways, in fights and in jest. I would like to be more in depth but I have to go; so I will leave it to other people here!

Btw I love your icon picture. <3

The rear depends on the deer.

The rear depends on the deer. Many deer think its a challenge or something threatening, but I know some deer who rear when they're playing or want to go for a run Smiling The lowering antlers emote is pretty much the only serious threat, and the 'taunt' one- in the orange section- suggests a fight.

TEF deer have human faces though, so I always think they're a bit of both human and deer and so have their own weird mix of emotions to use >< Its confusing. Smiling

edit: I agree with Dinamo, your avatar is really cute, like Bambi Sticking out tongue

It all depends on the deer

It all depends on the deer involved, I'm afraid (: You could have a deer that is very territorial that is protecting its mate, while the deer getting reared at takes the rear, not as the warning it was meant as, but an invitation to a playful spar. Or a deer who is easily frightened could misinterpret a playful deer's rear as threatening.
There's no set definiation to any of the emotes. Like the lowering of ones antlers, some use this as a way to have their deer graze or to sniff flowers. *shrug* Misunderstanding are bound to be made, but it's part of the magic of learning to read another's actions and react in turn! :>
