Quiet for a moment, the striped doe seems to think.
"They have been like that for as long as I can remember, but..." She looks up at the aged stone sheltering them from the rain. "Maybe they were built to be destroyed. But that's silly, isn't it?"

That little star you find in eyes that usually indicates the being is present, alive-- died for a moment as she went to another world
Her, apparently "faulty", brain gasped the idea and ate it whole-- it was quite easy to swallow but hard to digest

'But that's silly, isn't it?'
The little star returned to her eyes, brows furrowed

Maybe that's not so silly..
Feeling too serious she shook her head and added,
Oh-- my brain is beginning to turn!
A giggle bubbled out of her and bounced off the ruined walls

This one's light nature was

This one's light nature was intriguing to the brown doe, refreshing. She was a sprightly young thing and she liked that, a great contrast to the doom and gloom her mind had been latched in.

"But it's an interesting thought, no? I'd rather dwell on it than what else my mind will feed me." She exhaled quickly. "I've never been one to think about how the forest was made or why it was made so. It just..."

Ryff looked up and down a pillar, worn and weathered with moss creeping up the slate grey sides.

"...was."

She grinned a little, looking down at her waterlogged hooves. "Perhaps I can afford for my brain to turn a bit, it's been so still lately."

Ears pricked forward, head slightly lowered-- her eyes appeared larger and rounder than they usually were
Fixated on the doe, listening

'..than what else my mind will feed me..'
Ears quickly pin back, breaks her gaze; does her mind feed her too much?

Exhale
One ear flicks up, her eyes regain focus of the brown and gold hues
She studied the doe's mouth as she continued to speak, a small grin tugged at the corners

'Perhaps I can afford for my brain to turn a but, it's been so still lately'
She paused for a moment and couldn't help but grin too,

I think my brain is upside down sometimes.. we should trade!

Biting her lip, she thought about it for a second

Actually, you don't want an upside down brain

A smile shyly parted her lips

Maybe slightly. But what's too much? Ryff had never been the thoughtful sort, was never the internalised type... intelligent, but not thoughtful. Not usually. She wasn't looking at Lith much, her gaze was distant and dancing with the silverlined drops of rain falling outside the ruins.

"You think?" she looked back, jade green eyes to sea green, and gave something of a motherly smile. The sort of smile that hides something, but one that's given to keep her children happy. "Oh, but I don't know if you want my brain. Yours seems like so much more, like a brighter place."

Silence, realising they'd spoken at the same time, and she giggled a little, hoarse.

"Oh, maybe. But upside down isn't so bad."

Eyes widened with realization, their laughs intertwined and danced off the ancient rocks
They tried their very best to break through the wall of rain and dance in the ears of a nearby creature, but instead were beaten to the ground where the earth politely swallowed them whole
Quiet now,
'But maybe upside down isn't so bad'
Lithôniel liked that-- how Ryff didn't seem to mind that her head had a strange universe inside, but it was so very heavy to carry sometimes

Sometimes it hurts, but I suppose not
A little grin followed shortly after

However, she couldn't help but to wonder about what Ryff's brain was like and if it was as lovely as she seemed to be

Ryff's brain... it wasn't a grand place, but it was different. The doe thought on that for a second and wondered about the entirety of Lithoniel's mind in turn.

She herself did not believe she was.. 'mad'

Ryff's voice broke the chaos that was beginning to boil over, thankful, she listened

Lithôniel began searching her thoughts, this is certainly not the first time she's wondered about this
