How is this even possible? (permadevout pelt?)

So I was running around in the Forest, looking for deer upon whom to cast spells, and I happened upon this sleeping deer... with a white pelt! I thought it was impossible for white pelts to be permanent, but I stuck around this guy for a while to see if it would change, and it wouldn't. I was also unable to change his pelt (not that I would have anyway, but the icon was showing with an "x" over it, indicating that it could not be changed). How does this work? O__o

It's a glitch. Way back when,

It's a glitch. Way back when, at least one person got the Devout pelt to stick on them, by accident. The pelt then acted as just a normal pelt in game coding (except that it prevents others from casting spells on the wearer) and can be loaded via Spelldata, as well as as transferred to 3.41 via De Drinkplaats Spelldata transfer method. Basically, as long as one has the Spelldata for the Permadevout glitch pelt, one can wear it. That said, we are not allowed to share Spelldata publicly.

You could also do what we

You could also do what we fawns do to keep our sets on for a while. We unclick the "run in background" option so when our window isn't active, it keeps our sets till we switch back and the right amount of time passes. Not really a perma for that method but it's cool if you keep your window inactive for long periods of time.
