We had major snow starting Friday evening, when I finished this. Unfortunately the watercolor pencil on cream textured paper scans badly. No matter how I edit it looks like he's standing in yellow snow, and that's... bad. This is a picture of the card with the digital camera, and therefore kind of crappy in it's own unique way, but still better than the scans.

Anyways! Happy winter holidays to all of you!

Working on that picture of Draum for you, Lurvis, may upload later today!

I love that picture! Shocked The deer anatomy is epic, and the colors are pretty... *-* It gives an amazing feeling.

There is something truly

There is something truly magical about this picture~<3
I'm not sure if it's the soft color palette you used or the simplicity of a white deer walking through a blanket of snow, but it has this touch of serenity that makes is super awesome. :]
I also love how you shaded the entire picture, right down to the hoofprints left in the snow!
Fantastic work~!

Btw, watercolor is pretty fun, eh? It always makes pictures look so light~<3

Simplicity is good because it was a small Christmas card. Eye I should really play with watercolors more, I used to use them all the time and had lessons in them, but I don't use it as much now. This is mostly watercolor pencil, which is awesome to work with. The leaves and vines in his antlers are normal watercolor though.
