A Forest Healer
In a quite part of the forest, not to far from a stream, there is the home of a large male deer. He didn't have the same appearance like most stags for his antlers were but nubs; but he was not to fear. He lived in a hollowed out tree, just big enough for his large form. There, beside his shelter was a garden of many plants. Each smelt different and all were used by him. No, he didn't claim he could heal everything someone might come to him for, but he knew a thing or two about certain illness. He welcomed all does and stags, and any other resident of the forest in need of a little something to help them. All he asks in return in a small payment of ether mushrooms, herb seeds or anything that is of a simple value to the other.

Notes to RPers
- Anything can go really, just if it can effect Radish to the point of serious injury, please inform in a small OOC post before hand so I have time to accept or decline the action.
- Also, I am not Radish and Radish is not me. So please don't take offense to whatever he might do. Tho, I do doubt he would be the sort of guy to be disliked.
Thank you ^^
"Come in, don't be afraid. What can I do for you this fine evening?
Is it a headache you have? A sore leg? Maybe you need something to help you sleep?
Whatever it is, I will do my best to make you feel well again. It will be my pleasure."
Update: 3/2
The snow has melted, and spring is coming soon.
Much joy that has brought the white buck; so you shall be assured his stock is being refilled as each plant grows stronger in the warmth.
Bringing back the water in
Seed smiled and trotted over
"Oh, thank you very much. I apologize for the delay..."
He motioned to the poem, wanting at once to aggrandize it and to apologize for it -- though he could at least apologize for the delay. He had had an unusually long struggle with the words of it, but he felt satisfied now.
"It took me a while to find a place to start with it. Still, it got done."
He took a step or two back to let Radish read, wanting to watch his face.
"Please please, no need to
Reading the last word, he took a moment to take it all in. "Seed, this truly is a beautiful masterpiece. You are truly a great poet. I'm so glad to have done business with you." He was sure to find a way to ether hang this piece up or keep it in a safe place in his hallowed out tree home. When he saw the green male breath in the scent of the teas, he asked "I hope they are to your liking. Their scent is clearly a treasure to breath in, but I can assure you they taste lovely as well." He was always confident about his teas, for they were the first trade he did learn with herbs after all.
"It's more like knowing all
He explained, before falling quiet in the face of compliments. The critic at him nagged a bit, including the bit where he mixed up the mortar and pestle in an early draft, but nothing could stop his smile, and a little blush sneaking out beneath his mask.
"Thank you very much; I'm glad you like it. I wasn't entirely sure..."
Since, after all, he sort of opened up implying his patron was cruel. That's rarely good for business. Still, tell the truth but tell it slant -- starting in with a slant was a good idea, and past the point of concern, it let him take some pride.
All the same, the change of subject wasn't unwelcome, either.
"That's good; I can hardly wait...Have you been doing herbal work long?"
"How long . . . I have to say
He looked over to Seed. "And I can assure you, I do truly love the poem. You have a gift yourself." And gifts were something to be treasured.
"Ah, I see... I started my
He admitted, thinking back to his work as a fawn; mostly haikus, snuck in his diary. It was the core of him, when all else seemed unworthy or inconstant. He nodded.
"I think that it's good that she encouraged you...But I think a gift as strong as I think yours is may have been cultivated regardless."
Radish chuckled. "Well, I
"Hmmm...That sounds very
Seed, who had difficulties being close to his sole offspring, and no parents, found the idea of a family tradition, even one of seperation, appealing on instinct.
He looked a little surprised on the announcement there; perhaps he had overlooked it the first time Radish brought it up. It went completely undisguised on his face, until the brow furrowed.
"That surprises me...But I am glad to welcome you. I certainly wish I could be, perhaps, a bit more extroverted than I am; I want to meet more people, but when I can seperate myself from those close to me, I seem...To make no impression anyway. It's a sorry thing."
He shuffled a forehoof against the ground and watched it draw patterns in the dust.
His laugh was warm, hearing
"Oh, well...I didn't know
He did chuckle at the nudge, though, relaxing considerably. If he was going to put up a protest like that, then Seed certainly had no defense. It was a losing battle.
"Well, then I will just count myself lucky to have made an impression on a fellow craftsstag."
He said, bowing over-formally with a little laugh. It wasn't his normal quick dip, done to spare his knees and, in general, keep the mood light; it was a bit of pomp and circumstance to it.
Nodding, the buck returned
"Drat," Seed said, jokingly.
"Hm...You have a bit of trouble with that, don't you?"
Radish chuckled. "You should
"I can just picture it; did
Seed asked, seeing how close his mental image was. Though part of his reason to bring it up was because his wearing the bowl had brought someone he had heard of to mind.
"...You know, there's a doe I've heard of who does beadwork and things; I wonder if she couldn't make you some accessory to hold it on with..."
His ears perked a bit. "Is
"Think nothing of it. It's so
He said, kicking a bit at the moss. He looked again over the grove, and as before, it took his breath away.
"This place really is nice...You can really feel how much care you put into this place."

new post for the winter
The white buck lifted her head high as the slow fell, a few landed upon his nose. He was doing his best to keep the herbs and plants alive covering the base of the plants with a think home-made mulch of pants, bark, dirt and a few other ingredients. He had dealt with cold before, but this was the first forest he had been to, where snow fell early in the cold. Come to think of it, it was a lot colder too. Tho, he was very sure he was capable of keeping a large percentage of his garden safe. Ether way, he had spare seeds and many herbs already dried and stored away in his tree home.
The snow was a blanket over a large chunk of the forest already, lucky for him his thick frame kept him warm and did didn't feel to affected by the cold breeze. "Let me see . . ." Looking around, he saw poking out from the snow, his hat. The red bowl was being used to move large amount of snow from the garden. As long as he kept his eye on it after each snow fall, it should be fine. The buck smiled.

The question was one he was use to and always glad to answer. "Well, from my garden of course." He motioned with his head around the large tree. "She isn't much to look at since the snow, but by spring she will be in her prime again." Radish gaze over the garden, before looking back to the centaur. "Is there anything I could help you wish? Oh, and my name is Radish, by the way" Fuzzy ears twitched.

The large antler-less stag was busy inside the hallow tree he lived in, pushing out stray snow that managed to blow inside when he was away. He was trying to get it all out before melting and leaving the place where he slept cold and damp. The winter was tough for the big guy, but he didn't let it slow him down. Once all done, his ears perked to the sound of voices outside. "Oh, hello hello. Yes, I'm here. Just cleaning the place up." Backing up, Radish saw it was the blue doe that visited him a couple of weeks ago. "Hmmm, Nemonica right?" Smiling, hoping that was her name and he pronounced it correctly.
Radish then noticed she wasn't alone. "And hello to you as well Miss." He lowered his head in a polite greetings to the two does. "What can I do for you this chilly day?" The garden behind him was a little thin this time of year, but he did keep many of the herbs in a dried form for backup.
Nemonica and Cecilia looked
jookie202; A warm laugh came
A warm laugh came from the large white male. "And it is a pleasure to meet you Cecilia, and to see you again Nemonica. I take it the herbs and tea helped your skin splints?" Leaning his side to the tree that he slept in, Radish chuckled a little at the blue doe's comment about Cecilia. "Well, there isn't much to this stag. No rack and I express most of my time to plants." His tail twitched a little bit, glancing back to the bare garden. It probably didn't look like much, but he knew once the breath of spring fell over the forest, green would return to his garden. Or his breath? "So, besides meeting stags; how do you like the forest?" His question was for the new doe.
Cecilia smiled and gave him a
jookie202; The stag nodded in
The stag nodded in agreement with the blue doe. Indeed this place could be strange. Though, Radish felt right at home since he came here. After all, he was always a flat faced deer and coming to this forest was his true home. Glancing back, he dusted some freshly fallen snow from his stone "table" behind him with his tail. "May I offer you two anything?" He motioned behind him. "I found that carrots do rather well in this weather, despite the cold. Same with beets." The white stag smiled to them as he walked over to some carrots that were already picked from the garden and laying on the stone table.

jookie; The large stag
The large stag stepped aside so the two does could get to the table without any trouble. His hooves sunk into the snow as he stood back for moment, then went to stand on the other side of the stone table. " . . . You gardened?" Sometimes it was hard for Radish to get use to the fact that some deer didn't come to the forest the way that he had come. Just by walking in. Odd, after he thought about it. A large majority of the deer and creatures here in these woods had just appeared one day or came here in some strange form. Yet, he somehow just wandered into these woods on his journey. Or did he really? the white stag might never be totally sure. Mind focused, watching as they enjoyed the orange roots.

UPDATE;
So sorry I have been away, family stuff and college.

Anyway, moving onto the spring theme and settings of things for Radish. So sorry, but I feel trying to reply to a post from 3 months ago for winter seems is a tad silly. x:

The large form of the white buck was crammed tightly in the hole inside of one of the oak trees that had grown fat with age. Of corse, this tree was nothing compared to the huge Oak that grew in the heart of this forest. The sweet singing of a few song birds woke the white figure that was in the middle of a slumber. With a long yawn, out came the male, Radish. Well rested, but still a bit drowsy from the nap. Walking over to the lush garden, now large and full after winter was gone and the melted snow gave new life to the sleeping herbs and flowers. "Hmmm . . ." Walking up and down the aisles of his garden; the deer with the red apron took pleased with what he was able to save after that long winter. Pleased indeed.
