"Hello, my name is Orochimaru. I came to this forest on accident. You see, I was trying to escape those who were on my tail, but it seems I stumbled upon this... Endless world. I wish to leave, but then again, I don't want to. Although I am deeply wounded, I might not be able to see the light of tomorrow. After observing the habitants of the forest, I learned that many things come naturally for you creatures." He gives a grin that seems to have a hint of mockery behind it.

"I learned that many natural elements are your healing wares. As for me, I was taught how to make ointments and antibiotic creams, but here, the plants and flowers hold different properties. I experimented and found what worked best. I suppose you can say, I am better. Not completely one hundred percent, but I'm getting there." He adds, crossing his arms, each hand resting on the large rope that is tied around his waist. "Please, if you have questions, don't hesitate to ask. I don't bite... Hardly." He grins, the same mocking smile. It was if he was plotting something already since he set foot in this forest. But since he hasn't attacked anyone or thing yet, he might not be at all harmful.

"I know, I look strange to you...beings...but do take my word, I mean you no harm, in fact, I wish to learn more about your kind. It's something I've never seen. I have conjured snakes, seen dogs be summoned out of ninja scrolls, and even a toad the height of these very trees." He says, a hand drawn out to be rested under his chin, golden orbs watching closely, observing. "Please, do tell me about this place and what you are. I would love to understand where I am, more-the-less, know where I am."

You have three options; explain your world to this odd stranger, change the topic completely (although it might annoy him to some degree, but he will answer any questions you might have about him or where he came from), or remain silent and leave. What will you do?

At first, it had been quite a

At first, it had been quite a shock to see a two-legged creature in the Forest. Not because she didn't know what a human was, but because she somehow didn't believe they were able to enter the forest.
Cautious, Illrose approached the man. Not that she feared him, no, she was just careful. Without saying a word, she listened to what the man said. How he had entered this forest. She believed everyone
that came here got turned into some kind of deer - no matter what they had been before. The difference about this human made him quite interesting, and Illrose wanted to learn some more about him -
just as he seemed to want to learn more about the Forest.
"Hello Orochimaru." She began in a reply.
"My name is Illrose, and I don't mind trying to answer your questions, although I'm pretty sure I haven't been here long enough to know all about the Forest's secrets." She stopped for a moment, taking a
closer look at him. He had said he was wounded. What she knew helped healing her own wounds was the cooling water in the pond. Perhaps that would help this human as well.
"But before we start, I want you to join me for a little walk, if you can. There is a Pond, with cool water, that perhaps can ease your injuries." The grey doe, with the size and building of a moose, bloodred
antlers and a deer skull cowering her human face, walked closer to the man, before she gestured with her head the direction of the Pond.

Pret- Yes and No. I used MS Paint, but with eliminating colors and using tracing effects to delete everything but the man above. Then I colored him in gray-scale.

The man smiled, lips parting to show gratatude towards the doe that stood before him.
"Yes, I will walk alongside you to where you speak of. My wounds are doing fine, but it doesn't hurt to soak them in clean water." He mused as he leaned against one of the many trees. He made not a sound as he pushed himself away, fingers running across marred bark from many a stag or buck who wished to sharpen their horns. "Illrose, an interesting name for a creature like yourself." He said, golden snake eyes scanning the doe's massive body, it seemed the testosterone hormone must have went out of control to grant this doe the body and antlers. He found it interesting, no matter. One who wore a skull's mask to hide their own face was another mystery to Orochimaru, but he cared not why they would wear one. He has seen others wear such masks as well as bird skulls, wolf skulls, and others. It wasn't clear where the wounds were on the man, but the patches of dried crimson on the torso near the vital organs seemed to give it away. He did wish to rid the stain, but he could easily make a new one, but how? Perhaps if he conjured a few of his snakes, he could easily use their saliva to clean it off. After all, saliva does rid bloodstains from clothes.

Illrose smiled slightly

Illrose smiled slightly behind her skull mask, before she began to move her own heavy body towards the pond, walking slow so that the injured man should be able to follow her.
"The water in the pond is quite extraordinary, one should almost believe it had healing powers." She replied, with a chuckle. She then gave the man a quick glance with her white eyes as he commented her name.
"I'm glad you think so. That name was given to me long ago, by my own 'people'." Not that her people were humans, they were dragons. Mighty dragons, living at the top of the mountains. But this man did not seem
to be a 'normal' human either, a human without no powers whatsoever. No, this one was different. He seemed to be strong, despite his injuries.
"Did you get hurt by those who chased you?" She asked while she walked. Since he had gotten here, one could almost believe the chasers had killed him, so that was why he had gotten here. But she didn't really
think that was the case, for wouldn't he had become a deer then? She shook the thoughts away as the pond became visible between the trees. There was no one there at the moment, only the dragonflies, the frogs
and the koi swimming in the water.
"Here we are." Illrose said, and walked down to the water, watching the dragonflies' quick movements as they flew past her, back and forth above the water.

Then man's lips parted in an

Then man's lips parted in an inward smile as he followed after the large doe. His eyes took in everything around him, the colors, the shades, the light, the textures, everything. No doubt this place had some magic in it. When the question arose about his condition, he nodded. "Yes, my...assassins... were after me and did manage to inflict some wounds on me. But they'll all heal in due time. Nothing to be worried about. I've had worse." He noted, his eyes taking up the brilliant light from the pond down below as he paused to look around him. Willow trees hung their branches low to allow canopies of shade to spread across the ground, a bridge was nearby that crossed over the river. With a thought, he knew that these creatures couldn't build such a thing. Humans must have been here before these beings. He then followed the doe down to the water and paused as it's shoreline. With a fluid motion, he took off the top that held the bloody mess inside. The pain came soon after peeling the top off, the dried skin and blood stuck to it like glue and caused him to grit his teeth in order to focus on something else. With his top off and aside, he then waded into the waters, his wound was about a good two inches deep and four inches long. Made by a sword, no doubt, or an ax. He let out a sigh of satisfaction when the cold water hit the boiling flesh.

Illrose perked her ears. He had been chased by assassins? Sh wondered why, but didn't ask. Her questions would probably be answered soon enough. Her eyes drifted across his body as he took off his top,
revealing his wounds. They looked really bad, and Illrose was almost surprised he had managed to walk the way down to the pond. But, as she had thought before, he seemed to have strength.
"I know there should be plants here that can heal wounds, but I don't know which." She said, as she followed him out in the water. She lowered her head, dipping the skull mask in the water as she took a sip.
When she raised her head again, she looked at Orochimaru.
"I believe you had some questions about this place? You are welcome to ask, unless you want to rest a bit first." Illrose carefully sat down in the water, as she had done many times before with her own injuries.
Right now, she actually had no injuries. Only a few scratches in her grey fur, nothing to really talk about.

The pale bodied man had waded

The pale bodied man had waded over to a fallen log, using his arms to keep himself afloat as he gripped the surface. It was almost he could sleep in this paradise without the worry of a threat coming his way. Questions did indeed appear in his mind, "Well... I cannot really think of any questions to ask, but I do have several. Tell me, Why a mask?" Orochimaru looked up to the other, his golden eyes scanning the doe, then moving to other parts of where they were. He took in the sights of the weeping willows, the lily pads, the koi fish that swam in lazy circles, the grass, the reeds, and the insects that hovered about. It was too peaceful here.

"Hm, the question you chose to ask is not the easiest to answer." Illrose said while she casted a quick glance in the man's direction, before her gaze drifted away, following the dragonflies that seemed like they danced some sort of dance in the air.
"I'm not sure if the story I've heard is true, but it is said that the first deer in this forest all looked like each other, and some of them had a few complains about it. So the Gods gave them the forest magic, and the ability to change the colors of their bodies, and hide their human face behind different masks. This must have been long ago, for lately I have seen creatures that live here, but don't really look like deer." She had seen creatures with deer bodies, but paws like a dog, not hooves. She had seen deer with long tails, like the one of a fox, and she had seen deer with faces that were neither human nor deer.
"I guess the reasons for wearing a mask today is the same as then. To be different than others. Personally, I wear this mask because I like the look of it, and how it changes my voice when I speak."

Orochimaru layed his head on his crossed arms that supported himself above the water. His hair splayed out behind him like a wet spider's web. His eyes moved to the surface of the water as he listened to her words.
"Oh, Gods? So you have Gods much like we do, in the human world, that is. And magic? Does it require some special way to obtain the magic? For us, ninjas, we use ninjitsu and chakra to obtain the abilities to summon or chance forms." He knew that the questions were to answered then only draw up more. He smiled some at the thought of human faced deer running around with different and interesting sets.

The forest was quiet today.

The forest was quiet today. Well, as quiet as a forest could get anyways. Noises made by other animals could still be heard as well as the water from the stream.

Lying against one of the willows with a few half-crumpled forget-me-nots about her head was Serya. She had been staring at both the doe and the.. whatever that was for a short time now, although she wasn't paying much attention to their conversation. "How is he walking on two legs? Won't he fall?" The fawn muttered as she continued to stare. She had never seen anything that walked with less than four legs except for birds, and even then they still used their wings.

Now even more curious, especially since they were now talking about magic, Serya got up and slowly started walking towards them. Besides, if a deer was talking to him he had to be safe. Right? "Spells? Do any of you need a mask? I have eaten a few mushrooms a while ago so I can cast some.." She said as she made her way towards them, interrupting their conversation.

(Okay! I'll just join the one already going on. ^^)

Ah, recognized a spelling

Ah, recognized a spelling error in my post! Change*.

Orochimaru's eyes went from the water's glassy surface to the small ample body that came their way. What was this? Another creature? Yes... It seemed to be with small hooves and a human face. It was no doubt one of the Forest's inhabitants. It spoke something about mushrooms and saying that it could cast some. What magic was this?
"Mushrooms?" He echoed, still not sure how eating a few raw fungus could grant a power as that. He looked to the other with a quizzical look, he needed more explanation then just simple words from something like a fawn. Orochimaru smiled. "And how does such a small thing like you get magic from eating a mushroom?" He asked, not expecting the younger one to be able to explain it.

He was a ninja? Illrose

He was a ninja? Illrose listened with her ears perked forward to show her interest. She had never met a ninja before, and had never heard of their kind of magic. It did sound interesting, what they could do.
"Yes, we do have Gods. The Twin Gods. Deer can pray at their statues whenever they want, and sometimes the Gods themselves visit us. I have never had the pleasure of meeting them, though." Illrose nodded in the direction of the Twin Gods hill, where the Twin Gods statues were visible, even from the pond.
"There are several ways to gather spells..." She then began, but was interrupted by a new voice. Illrose turned her head and looked at the fawn. Someone else would perhaps been annoyed when someone interrupted a conversation like that, but Illrose simply smiled at the fawn while she rose to her feet, water dripping from her grey fur.
"I don't really need a new mask, but you can still cast your spell on me if you want to." She said to the fawn. Getting new masks could be fun, especially if she got one with a weird noise, like the space beluga mask. She turned to face Orochimaru again.
"Even fawns can obtain the forest magic, but they are not yet strong enough to keep it on themselves. And when the Gods gave us the magic I think they did with teamwork and cooperation in mind, because we can only give our spells to others, never use it on ourselves." She said, before turning back at the fawn.
"What is your name, little one? Perhaps you would like to tell our two-legged guest how to get the different spells?" Since the fawn knew it could cast a mask when it had eaten mushrooms, it probably knew about the other spells as well.

"How? Well you eat them! ..

"How? Well you eat them! .. and.. uhh.." Serya frowned slightly, not knowing how that worked herself. She shuffled her hoof around in the dirt while trying to come up with an answer. "I guess the magic is in the mushrooms..?" She replied, although it sounded more like she was asking. The fawn perked up once she had permission to use the spell and didn't hesitate to give masks to the both of them. "Then you do that! That's it." Probably not the best explanation for how magic is inside of a mushroom, but she thought it was good enough.

She shivered a little when she stepped into the water. It was colder than what she thought it would be. However it didn't take long for her to get used to the pond's temperature, and soon she started splashing around in it. "My name is Serya! Nice to meet you both." She said, remembering her manners for once. When asked for the different spells she stopped playing for a moment and turned to Orochimaru. "Okay! I think I know them all.."

"Mushrooms help give masks, pine cones help with antlers, and laying by a sleeping deer will help you with pelt colors." She replied, about to play in the water again now that she was done with her answer. But soon another thought crossed her mind. "You can do magic too right? Could you show us? Please?" She asked, unaware that she might be bothering them or that Orochimaru was tending to an injury.

Orochimaru smiled at the

Orochimaru smiled at the fawn's friendliness, but when it casted a spell to the other, his eyes turned into small slits as he watched with interest. When the fawn tried to cast a spell upon him, the light did show, but nothing happened afterwards. He examined his hand, the only part of him that wasn't keeping him out of the water, and smiled. He listened to how the magic was obtained and it sounded pretty reasonable when one lived in a forest. Watching the fawn leap around in the pond and introducing itself along with the question, he nodded. "My name is Orochimaru and I would be honored to show such fantastic creatures how human magic works." He started to pull himself up out of the water, the liquid running off of his skin and across his deep wound. He showed no signs of pain, but he hid it so well. He then stood on the fallen log he was leaning against and took a deep breath. With fluid motion, his hands were brought together and he created many hand signs that only a ninja would recognize. The title was "Many Hidden Shadow Snake Hands". When finished, he raised an arm, which caused three snakes to slither out, green in color and with black markings much like Orochimaru's. He wouldn't allow the snakes to attack without meaning so he allowed them to hang there in the air and smell the many scents. "It's not much, but this is all I can really manage to do in my current condition." He said with a smile.

Illrose could feel how the

Illrose could feel how the mask on her face changed when she was hit by the spell. This one felt lighter than the skull mask. She stretched her neck an tried a roar to see which sound it made, but this mask simply made a whistling noise. She chuckled, amused, and decided to keep the mask for a little while. She then watched curiously as the fawn casted a spell at Orochimaru, but nothing happened. So the forest magic did not work on him. Illrose perked her ears curiously as Orochimaru stood from the water, creating signs with his hands. Illrose glanced down at the fawn for a moment, before she looked back at the man. She immediately flattened her ears at the sight of the snakes, and instinctively she hissed as a warning to the reptiles. But it seemed Orochimaru had control, so she soon relaxed again.
"Truly impressive." She said, still watching the snakes with caution.
"It would be interesting to see what you really could do." She added. Perhaps, since the man had gotten here, he knew a way out as well? Sometimes Illrose really wanted to leave this forest and return to her own 'world', and her true form as a dragon.
