After you download the game and create an account, you start off as a fawn. You play as the fawn for 30 days, you can change your mask, pelt, and antlers but they won't stay until you become an adult.
Once you become an adult, you can save pelts, masks, and antlers and every time you log in your deer will pop up as whatever you last saved it as. To save your pelt, click "escape" when in the game and go to "save deer" under the Network tab
You can see other players on the sides of the map, if theyre purple that means they're sleeping or they're away from their deer at the moment. Your deer will fall asleep after 5 minutes of inactivity.
Falling asleep in a mushroom circle will allow you to change another player into a mini deer,, squirrel, frog, bat, or dove. If you want to be changed into another animal you will have to ask someone to sit in a mushroom circle with you for 5 minutes. Usually by mooing and guiding someone to a mushroom circle works. Again, you can't do this until after 30 days of playing.
Creating an account on the site allows other deer to identify your deer. You can see examples by clicking on the "Biography" tab on the left of this page
