Forested (Story)

It was a sunny day. The trees were old and rusty. The wind was silent and still. And many would say, this would be the absolute worst time to hunt. Yet she didn't care.
Mainly because all the creatures of this forest paid no attention to Saber Tooth Tigers what-so-ever. Not that she was complaining. The forest was filled with food too afraid to look at her despite the dinosaurs that they always attacked on sight. They seemed to pay attention to them. But completely ignored her. It was annoying, but she could live.
Turns out, whenever the animals actually do see her, they end up turning around in fright, thinking it was just an illusion. It was kind of annoying some times, but whatever. Not her fault that the tree did this to her race. There must have been some sort of error in the spell that caused the animals to not exactly see them. But whatever, Free food!
But now, things weren't going to be so easy, as her 'prey' just got into a fight with a dinosaur. Great.
Swerving in different directions, she attempted to get into the correct place to pounce and kill the wolf while it was occupied in it's bloody battle. However, she was disappointed to see that the wolf moved about far too much, and she never was one for fighting.
Fur bristling in frustration, she climbed a small hill in order to hopefully get the correct timing right before the wolf moved once more, only to stop suddenly as a shiver ran up her spine. It was the sound of the tree.
The tree was the source to all of the creatures suffering. Or should I say, the predators suffering. It all started a while back. A long while back. The race of the deer was almost led to extinction from the predator's hunting. It was said that they were the tastiest creatures in all of the forest, and that they granted you immortality from a single bite. You can see why the idea of deer hunting was quite appealing.
However, we soon learned that deer wasn't a thing to mess with. They ended up praying to the gods, who cast their power into the tree, causing all predators of all time into one section of the forest, trapped while the deer of all time were brought back to life.
Every predator thought they were very selfish and cruel. Countless predators alike had reached extinction as well, yet they never did anything like this in order to preserve themselves. And you know the worst part about it? Now they were forced to feed and escape from animals of both overwhelmingly large and small. And it was getting harder and harder to find satisfactory food, as the smaller were slowly going extinct. Only the mice or rats managed to survive, despite them being pretty much the weakest things on the planet. And that was just because they were trying to be as evasive as their ancestors. She was very lucky to find wolves here.
And now those wolves were going to die for the dinosaur, and it'd be impossible to snatch the food away without being killed instantly. However, she had better things to think about, as the sound of the tree echoed across her ears. She noticed that the shadows of the trees seemed much longer here. A sound of a ghostly howl of wolves reached her ears once more before she stared into the old, tired forest.
It was here. But she didn't know what that 'it' could be. She'd rather not know, either.

-End-

(Sorry this story was bad. I actually based it off a section of my dream. I don't have much experience in storys, only roleplay. So it probably wasn't the best, but I hope you enjoy it anyway.)

This was actually interesting

This was actually interesting to read - dreams are often a great source for stories, you should definitely consider writing more.
