"Ow."

So she was hurting too. At least Her wasn't alone. She felt the weight of her partner pressing down on her chest, causing a dull throb to emit from the wound in her back.

"You get hit too?"

"Yes." They were both shot, then. Tuna smelled of blood - or maybe it was her own body. Or both. Her thoughts were muddled, addled by pain.

But it was fading. Marvelously fading away.

"We're finished, babe." Tuna's voice was gravelly, like she was swallowing grit. Her calmed her breathing. "I thought as much." Faces were racing through her mind - Renojack, Bale. Esll. All the friends she was leaving behind. "This was bound to happen sometime." She smiled vaguely and stroked the younger woman's hair. Tunafish tilted her head to look up at her. "At least it'll feel better, whatever's after this." She paused. "But Bale. Poor thing. Renojack, too."

"Yeah." Her closed her eyes and began to hum. Tuna followed suit. Their voices became merged, and then...silence.

"GAH. Get offa me, you lump!"

"Hey, you were okay with it two minutes ago!"

Two does untangled their bodies and flopped over in the shallow water of the Pond. Tuna pulled herself to her feet and shook her body, droplets spraying out everywhere. "That was a nice one. Almost as good as that time two months back."

"Not quite." Her spat out a stream of water. "Thanks, Auriea!" A warm breeze swirled around her in response. "Alright, come on. Let's go find Bale. I wanna see if I can get a hold of Renojack soon." She stood up as well. "And, mate?"

"What?"

"Sorry about RJ. I know I'm obsessing. I just...can't help it."

Tuna grinned. "We're partners. We have to piss eachother off sometime." Her smiled and jerked her head towards a group of deer in the distance. The duo trotted off as if the day had never been interrupted by their own deaths.

Is it so wrong for two immortals to have a taste for the theatrical?

lol NOW it's done. c: Allow me to explain myself, even though I relish the fact that I can surprise y'all. Endless Forest deer are immortal unless they choose to die or reincarnate. Therefore, even in the human world, they can't be killed. So if they're 'killed' they just come back to the forest. c: Twisted, but it works for me.
