‘Falling snow makes no sound,
As it carefully touches the ground
Before disappearing into nothingness
Unseen, unheard
And left to rest.’
The girl softly sang to herself, while watching the first flakes of winter fall. Right in front of her feet they vanished, for their short, fragile lives mattered to no one at all. Her gaze went from her shoes to the place she currently was, London Kings Cross station. People walking, pushing her aside in their haste without having time to apologize. The fifteen year old with one green and one blue eye, eyed the other travellers with curiosity and fear. Fear of loneliness and the unknown in front of her. She planned on going to travel, but never realized there were so many places she could go. To her it did not matter, she just wished to leave the rotten city she was born in. London had its charm for sure and looked beautiful on the outside. But she knew beauty always came with darkness and darkness had laid his hand on her heart.
The station was enormous; it was as if the girl found herself in a completely different world. A world from which people travelled to different places on the globe. She did not need to go far, just away from it all. Away from where she grew up, where her parents had lovingly taken care of her before they vanished. Dead. Or gone. The girl didn’t know where they had disappeared to and to her they were already dead. Even though the police never found any proof, there was only a slim chance they were still alive.
Tears stung in her eyes as she sat herself down in the cold snow, outside the station. Pure, white flakes were covering her golden locks of hair. The cold was making her shiver. Not dressed for the weather, she was wearing only a thin vest and a short dress. She could feel the wet snow coming through her tiny sneakers, imagining how her toes would be falling off if she would sit here for longer than a day.
Time went by slowly as the girl watched the many people pass by, focused on their directions, the people they were with or just random chattering. She sighed and got on her feet, wondering what she was still doing here. Swiftly she caught a snowflake with her hand and watched it melt away. A slight smile appeared on her face as she thought about him, the boy of her dreams. A silhouette appeared as she drifted away in her fantasy.
‘Someday I will melt in your hand, just like a little snowflake. You’ll catch me before I hit the ground and vanish. Until we meet, I’ll keep my core frozen.’ She softly whispered to no one in particular.
Her gaze went to the sky, from which endless flakes of snow were falling, all with their own destiny. Someday she would have a destiny too and a something to live for, for now all what mattered was too forget and to leave. Leaving it all behind her, without looking back. Only then could she be strong and survive on her own. She just had to fight the tears and keep moving, only then she would reach her goal. Only then would she truly be happy again. With determination she turned around to face the station, her eyes filled with fire. The girl didn’t have a lot of money, but it was enough to get her at least somewhere, and from somewhere she would look further.
‘Amara Eva Wildfire.’ An unknown, steady voice spoke. The girl turned around to face the man standing behind her. He was carrying a look of triumph on his face, as if he had finally found what he was looking for. She didn’t answer when he spoke her name. Instead she just waited for whatever he had to say.
‘You’re coming with us.’ He said, while reaching her his hand. She looked at it for a moment.
‘Why would I?’ She asked, while slowly taking a few steps back.
‘Because you simply don’t have a choice.’
O.O! It sounds epic so far
