So all of them will appear with the symbol of the logged in user? Is that new? I seem to remember, a year ago when I was more active in the game, that they had no symbol at all.

Yeah, about a year ago they had no symbol at all. I think when they introduced the Fountain area there was a glitch with Nameless deer having Michael's picto, but recently they have the player's picto.
