Does TEF work on Windows 7???

Lanithedeer's picture
I just got my two month early birthday present: My dad's Windows 7 laptop.

I installed the RECENT version of TEF on it, and I'm having a few issues.

1. The game is quite jerky.. it wasn't laggy on our normal computer
2. I can't turn when my deer is walking slowly
3. I can't leap when my deer is running unless I hold down the W key - not the forward key, which is what I normally use.
4. Pictos only spread about 3 pictos at a time and the weather isn't showing - I've noticed the snow and large dandelions on screenies.

Just a little help on how to get it cranking properly? I thought that the game would run 10 times better on a new laptop.

Thanks!

TEF should work on Windows 7,

TEF should work on Windows 7, I currently have Windows 7 and it is running fine. It could be the requirements of the game, maybe its the graphics card, as TEF is quite a graphic demanding game.

Aww...poor you! I understand

Aww...poor you! I understand how you feel, as I had similar problems when I bought my laptop. So, here we gooo:

1. This might seem unrelated, but it could fix your problem. Do you play any other online games on which you could test for lag? Are you using wireless?

2. I couldnt do this either using one set of keys, so now, I have to use W and S to walk forward//backwards, then LEFT and RIGHT to walk, well left and right..., or vice versa. At first, it might seem weird, but I've gotten used to it ^^

3. I have same problem, but as mentioned in my above answer, I've had to get used to it as I haven't found a fix.

4. Hmm...not sure about this one, mine works fine s:

Sorry for bumping

Sorry for bumping Sticking out tongue

@MightnightShadows: I doubt it could be the graphics card, this laptop is really new. But thanks anyways!!

@Zeekii: Laptops = TEF lagness!

1. The only program I had on was TEF. The internet often runs really fast for me, so I'm confused. But I run wireless, as I do on the other computer!

2. That's a shame! That DOES sound confusing, but I guess I'll get used to it like you did ^^

3. Meh, let's just pretend I said the same from before! Hopefully one of us will find a fix!

4. Darn. I really wanna see the snow, too. I'm probably going back to my mum's place tomorrow, so maybe I can see it on the original computer over there!

I often have MSN messenger under TEF. That's the only program I run with it. I think it helps hindering picto spreading?

Thanks anyways!

Hm...I'm not sure, I don't

Hm...I'm not sure, I don't run MSN, so it could be ^^
The thing about wireless on W7 is that many other people have had a problem on the net too...do you play music in the background? Or do the sounds on the game lag and crackle?

I hope it is. I haven't

I hope it is. I haven't installed MSN on this laptop yet, so I guess that's on my to do list!

...Rats. I guess I'll have to wander the forest alone if this keeps happening.

The only programs I ever normally have on is TEF and MSN. On this laptop, it's only TEF.. until I get MSN of course!

The sounds are ok. The movement and stuff is a little jerky but. It runs smoothly on the other computer..

Ahh...I see. My lag issue is very irritating as the fix that worked for everyone else on the internet didnt work for me, ah well XD
I hope you can fix it soon!

It's a shame that people get

It's a shame that people get problems with this game. I was pretty lucky to have it working perfectly on the other computer lol ^^.

Thanks, and I hope you get your lag issue solved as well!
