A poem sits, half-formed in my head: Oh hail to the sun in all of its guises:/ the triumph that sets, the defeat that rises. Tell me, dear forest, pink and violet at your horizons, tinged with the red of poppies and warm hearts: is your sun setting, or rising? I've heard most say sunset, but it feels untrue to me: it is so soft and still, subtle and sweet, that it makes me think of the surrender of dawn.
I woke up and encountered the doe Leeadora. We frolicked for a while, and ran up to the Twin Gods Hill, where she tried -- largely in vain -- to get the devout pelt to merge with her skin for a longer while than such blessings normally last. We also danced and played a bit, before she went -- she has the strangest way of dancing, even for the Forest.
I return again, and wander the Forest alone for a while, meeting up with a fawn and Yorres for a moment, when a thought struck me: I should perhaps go by myself, and play in my favorite patch of flowers. Yorres followed me, and so I ended up frolicking him in that path of flowers, and another, our paces changing easily, like those of the butterfly; we moved like a slow waltz, or bubbly fawns, or somewhere in-between. We took a rest, and arose to go walk towards the ruins.
There I spotted someone, our of the corner of my eye. A doe all alone, frolicking by herself. There was something about her -- the courage, maybe, it takes to want to frolic by onesself, something I am begining to resolve to aim at, something I have always admired. I bid farewell to Yorres, and went to join her. She was as lovely up close as she was far away, and welcomed me with the easy affection of a young fawn; at first I thought she was part of the Rut, for such ease of contact isn't very common in grown deer, does or stags. I joined her in her bounci9ng and running around in little circles near those ruins. She dashed off, at the sight perhaps of another deer she knew, trying to replace the poppies on its antlers with a proper set. She tried to return its antlers...Near Payton's old sleeping spot. It shouldn't hurt that much to see it, the little corner where she went to sleep. It shouldn't still bring tears stinging at the edges of my eyes. I couldn't look at it for long. After a while, Iaurdagnire arrived, and it became something of a small party after that. I saw that she was just as affectionate with everyone, and it was not merely my arrival: mind you, I did not seriously think it was. What there is that is worthy about me is not apparent at first. I couldn't stay long for whatever antics would arise, and bid her and Iaurdagnire farewell.
I awoke, yet again (having sadly lost my dear candles), and found myself alone. For a time I sat beneath the bridge and thought, when out of the corner of my eye I noticed Evergreen standing all alone by the lake. Remembering how happy the doe from before (whose name, I have heard, is Nevilly) was to have some company, and having gotten from the whispers in the trees some notion that the brightly-colored doe was the lonely sort, I decided to go over and greet her. She seemed rather startled to see me, but we quickly set about to playing on the shores and shallows of the bright, sapphire-like lake, which knew nothing of the change of weather, unlike the willow trees, whose branches were the brightest gold mingled with their green. We had a lovely time, though I had to go just as Leeadorawas arriving.
For a moment I was awake again, and spotted Virgil. When I came bgy, his head waqs on Isis's back, and I could smell the heat coming off of him and her, burning up the flowers around them. I left them be: they seemed to have a few on-lookers as it was.
I decided, after a while, that I would just sit on the bridge and watch the colors, soaking in their radiance and light. Leeadora, and a friend of hers for a while (I believe his name is Phee?), and we sat there together, as the sounds of roaring and running rushed around us. After a while, I rose, and Leeadora followed me. We wound our way up the river, bouncing and running in the pretty light.
and then I noticed the arrival of none other but Scape, and rushed to meet him. He was still asleep, so after greeting Tally and her friend by the lake, I hunkered down to wait for him. Most of the rest of the group, pre-occupied by other things, went off as Scape awoke. We immediately set to antics: the usual hopping and bouncing, for a while, but after a time I decdided to mix it up with a game of devout-pelt tag. I lost after one round: how did Scape get so fast? I need to practice my running more. We played with the trees for a while, dancing in them, before doing some classic silly-walk antics. Then we messed around with nuzzling the trees and related antics, and I finally got that trick righty! I have been trying for days! We also played a bit with a fawn, but I had to go not long after that. I bid farewell to my dear friend, and called it a night very well-spent.
...An odd thing, though: every now and then, when I was with Scape, a group would run past the corners of our eyes, and we would stop a while and watch them, unsure of what to do. I wouldn't have minded seeing what was going on, but I was having a good time as it was. Still, I wonder who they were.
((well, Seed had a long day yesterday, didn't he?))
Umm yeah, I guess you're
I has to say that's so sweet what you wrote about her, and no, she is not participating the rut, she just got a bit too happy for having some company. She had been feeling down for last few days. And then she saw some more of her friends and stuff, that's why all the nuzzling with others. c8
Yup, that's the one ^^ I'm
I'm glad Seed could cheer her up a little, then. He's very good at writing sweet things about people -- it's the poet in him, or something like that.

Awesome. c8 I wasn't sure
Seed cheered her up a lot, to be honest. He really amazed Nevilly by joining her just like that.
The little get together was

Ah. Seed would have let
and yeah, he did. I've been trying to get it right for a few days now..the rubbing is just amusing: it's always hard to imagine what being rubbed by Seed must feel like...Probably like running your hand against smoothly-carved glass, I reckon. Unless you're rubbing his belly. XD
