they have faces because they need to see, eat, and breathe, and those things require eyes, access to salivary glands and the esophogauss (which I cannot spell, but requires a mouth), and access to the windpipe (here in the form of nostrils and mouth).
To change the fur of another deer, you have to sit next to a sleeping deer and cast the spell. It's on the "forest magic" info page. You cast on other deer, and other deer can cast on you.
Its art :3 I guess the concept of the game was to make it unique thats why the deer have human faces. To gain pelt antler and mask spells rub a tree, eat a mushroom from a tree, or sit down next to a sleeping deer, then cast on other deer until they start casting on you too
