DON'T COMPLIMENT THE ANATOMY PLEASE...
The thing is, I had this image in my head and really wanted to draw it. But after several attempts of sketching the references and failing no i didn't cry shutup, I pretty much gave up and loosely traced the photo references. Then I redid the lines with the traced references, adjusted what I needed to then silhouette painted over them...
I feel extremely guilty, but I figure confessing this was done for this picture makes it okay...? I just really wanted to get the image out of my head, and I tried so so hard but couldn't do it otherwise. I guess what I'm saying is that I don't claim this art entirely as my own. The images were found on Google.
The rest of it is mine though. The shitty BG, the godawful shading... Pleasedon'thurtmeahahaIhadabadday.
Anyway, War Stag and Hart enjoying a moment of serenity after the Rut.

Really beautiful. Love this
Seconded. The airy,
I can almost feel the warmth
I agree with what have been
And I don't think it makes it less yours just because you don't consider yourself a pro painter or whatever and didn't start from 'scratch'. The idea is yours and that's quite a big portion of the picture, don't you think :>
Absolutely beautiful and very
I love the colors used here.
and don't worry about the anatomy/tracing so much, i have a few scrapped drawings of where i've done so and i feel just as guilty about them. but they helped me a little to understand the anatomy more, they've helped me to find out where to place certain things. i just really try to avoid doing it to the point where i'm legitimately tracing them and claiming them as my own - and i'm glad that you've given credit to their sources. plus the painting and shadows aren't bad so shushoo it's okay -shushpaps-
Well, I think it's lovely.
I love our old stags.
Gods, this is beautiful.

the atmosphere reminds me of a foggy and sunny morning. i live for those days, and this just takes me there. i love it.

Aaaa, guys, so much response!
Forgetmenot: Thank you! I'm really glad it gives off a serene feel.
Hum: Thanks! I try. Sometimes less is good... I'm glad to have got it right here, haha.
snow: I'd say it's probably a little chilly! But I'm really glad you like it. <3
Hallinish: I'd still discredit myself where due. But yeah, it's the idea of this picture I wanted to make. I'm really glad it's appreciated for that. <3 God, I feel like there's an art degenerative issue in my head though... I'm so glad you find it appealing to view. I try!
HellsBells: I'm really glad you think so! Aaa, cheers. <3
caiir: I thoroughly agree and support that! I believe that tracing photos is okay as long as you're doing it to get an idea of how anatomy works. I do that too, but never save them (this is an exception!). Thank you for your kind words. ;;
Sidewalk: HAHA Yeaaah. I must like the pain since I just can't seem to give up on art, much as I often want to! Thanks. <3 I think today's gonna be better.
Jin: Same, they're perfect.
Mjrn: Thanks man, I really try!
din: I'm glad you think so! They're very good in each other's company. I did aim for a misty morning look, and I'm so so glad it looks good to you! I can see many ways I could have improved it if I was willing to dedicate more time though...
Kate: I'm really glad! Thanks, dude. <3
The feel of this piece is
This is so amazing. The
I feel as if I'm spying on them in the bushes, and watching the sun rise with them. :'D
Ammy: Thanks. <3 I
Starling: Haha, you're probably the reason The Red is looking at the forth wall then. He can sense "danger" you know! I like to think to witness these two alone is a really personal and intimate experience, but not in a weird way, you feel? Thanks. <3
Beautiful.
Beautiful drawing
