Yay! Finally finished. Well, i actually finished it 2 days ago..but it's been raining outside and I really wanted to take pictures outside so...yes. He's so coooot!

I'll post more pictures in my 'Progress' blog later, since I have to go shopping atm.

I'm working on a new pattern for a smaller, chibi-esque keychain sized one I might offer to make for people. That large version was rather hard @_@ And imperfect. Dunno if anyone would be interested though.

Very nice! The only crit I would have is that the butterfly pelt looks to 'raised'. Have you ever thought of felting the markings on?

Yeah, the markings sorta

Yeah, the markings sorta ruined it for me XD I hated myself the whole time I glued them on. I tried stitching them but it just wasn't working >< 'Felting'? What is it? (clueless)

Felting is where you take a

Felting is where you take a little a piece of wool roving (unspun but refined wool) and then taking a felting-needle (basically a needle with little barbs on it) and sticking the needle through the wool to shape it.
  • As Wiki says: Special barbed felting needles that are used in industrial felting machines are used by the artist as a sculpting tool. Using a single needle or a small group of needles (2-5) in a hand held tool, these needles are used to sculpt the wool fiber. The barbs catch the scales on the fiber and push them through the layers of wool tangling them and binding them together much like the wet felting process. Fine details can be achieved using this technique and it is popular for 3D felted work.


    • The needle is the only really expensive piece to buy but it is definetly worth it in the long run. I'll post up one of my felted sculpts to show you then.
