I made this in celebration of Halloween. C:
I looked at a couple references for the skeleton idea (links below). I am in the process of making a speedpaint of this.

THIS IS NOT A ACCURATE DRAWING OF A SKELETAL ELK/DEER. Please if you would like to see a real accurate skeleton diagram, this isn't it. Try these two pictures here (what I used for references):

Those ribs D8 they were so hard to draw. And I still didn't get it right.
It took about 45 minutes from the time I redrew the lines in black and inked it in to the time of completion.

I agree, there's such grace

I agree, there's such grace and energy in the deer's pose! I like the trailing red glow from the eyes, too.

I was thinking that could show the skeleton's past movement, How it was just dancing and how long each movement was kind of thing. In an eerie kind of way, like how you go temporarily blind when a camera flashes straight in your eyes. The image stays there behind your eyelids. The red light must be what holds its soul within it's bones and gives it the beat to follow. And it's the gate to its past and how it moves now...

I'm now thinking of turning him into a character... -strokes imaginary beard- A picto-less, genderless character. XD

Fantastic pose there! It does indeed look as if it's alive, and I really enjoy your style; it's sort of graphic novel-ish but not too much so.

Did you resize your largest version of it, or do you just have a monstrous monitor?

This deer does seem alive! I've never drawn a deer elk before, but this is awesome! Also, the deer does seem moving!

@ Fish: My laptop is a ginormous monster dinosaur laptop. The thing is HUGE. The screen is like as big as I am. And my style is heavily influenced by graphics such as. I try twisting realism into cartoon and my style is somewhere in between. Distorted in a unique, but interesting way C:

@ DEERTH: I am very fascinated with elk. I love their antlers so much and they always seem so graceful and dancy to me. C: I wanted to trap the spirit of an elk or something in the way this skeleton dances.
