Sorrel turns her head in the dark, for she knows she is dreaming, not waking. The voices are stopping, but she feels the constant acid tingiling, ringing around her eyes and mouth and chest. What is this? She can not describe the moment, or anything. Her mind goes black and she wanders forward-
the light comes to her.
"Pourquoi se trouve présent le sang sur votre visage?"
Why is there blood on your face?
Sorrel turns her head in the dark, and sees the dark shaped nereid, black and white with fur and tinge. She feels herself heave, and vomits up a spectrum of colours. Why? The black one watches closely but does not move, and she knows he is there.
"You do not need those."
Then he flies off- leaving the ground and hovering like a bird.
Bird, but not free.
Sorrel turns her head in the dark, and follows him.
He does not stop for her.
She hears a loud
drip, and looks to her hooves. Blood folding out from the cracks, spreading around her, her eyes crying red.
"Stop it, démon d'aucune couleur"
demon of no colour
And with the strength of her voice, he fades, and the surprized doe is suddenly dropping-
---
In the pitch black of night, Sorrel awakes, and her mind leads her to see the fading shadow of the colourless demon. She shivers, from the cold- and she wouldn't admit it- from fear. Such horrible nightmares plagued her now, ever since she'd entered the forest. But too proud, Sorrel refused to tell anyone of her 'cowardly' fear.
But tonight she couldn't stop shaking.
The tree branches looked like pronged tongues and claws, reaching to grab and twist her body. The grass was full of snakes, waiting to poison her bloodstream. And the pond was just obsidian black...a sinking pit, waiting to swallow her up. Slowly getting up from the crook of an old tree, her eyes stare up into the darkness, and she feels the moon pulling out her soul- daring to look away, she runs....
....runs through the night. Until what seems an eternity, when she sees someone in the distance. And although she is shaking with fearr, and is afraid of meeting the demon of her nightmares again, Sorrel does not want to be alone. Even if this is the edge of the forest.
Slowly, she approuches.
What happens next?
'cmon, she won't bite

Even at night the flowers were lovely lovely lovely!
Oh the other deer should see these too, even those he did not know, they were his friends after all! they just did not know it yet!
His smooth rat tail swished gently behind him, large rounded-at-the-top ears flicking.
A smile was set upon his features, a pile of flowers settled upon his back, and he toted them along, blowing some of the green and black hair from his face.
With a squeak he laughed as the threads that bound his body together tangled in his three legs, squirming free of them and sitting back to pull them tightly together again, scratching behind an ear with a rat-like back paw, his one front leg firmly planted upon the ground.
At the sound of hooves he stood again, tail wagging, eyes bright.
He did not know the deer who was heading towards him.
The deer coming was his friend.
Because, everyone was his friend.
They just didn't know it yet.
forever and ever and ever and ever
She saw someone- ahead, in
The rat-deer arched a brow,
"You should slow dooooown when you talk so people can heeeeaaar~" he giggled, rolling around on the ground before bouncig up once more, sitting in front of the doe, looking up with his good eye, expression warm and friendly as always, tail ruffling the soft flowers.
It clicked in her head that
And then she saw something behind him, just a night terror, like what a child sees in their cradle. Instantly, her eyes were filmed glassily, and her tail quivered. "G-get away! It's behind you!" If only he knew the danger.
I'm here.
Right beside you.
"foooling? I just want to be
"I'll protect you! because we're friends now! foever and ever!" he turned, then paused, tiltin his head, blinking slowly.
"uhm, nice lady are you sure your eyes are A-okay?"
(....NAWWWW XD He's
"Okay...okay," Sorrel breathed slowly, taking things in while she tried to calm her breathing. There was nothing there....nothing....just night terrors...just his face. Don't think like that. ...."I'll protect you! because we're friends now! foever and ever!"
Waitwhat
Still rather bestilled, she wondered what on earth made the creature think that suddenly. But, it was nice. A vibrant decision amongst the bleak ones others made.
"..I-I'm not sure..." Quickly whisking her head over her shoulders and around for full vision, she let out a deep breath. "...It's gone."
"I-erm- i'm Sorrel," she heard her voice become slightly louder, the fear seeping away slowly.
What was she running from?
:z
bamo
((how did I miss this s much
and thank you XD<3))
"My name is Friend!" he chirped back brightly, giving his tail another small wiggle.
"it's gone now! I must have scared it off with my scar bave-nes! grrrrr!" he giggled, bounding around the doe a few times before tripping on his threads, landing on his back before tightening them and bouncing up.
"you can stick with me! so if it comes back I can chase it off!...whatever it is!" he blinked up innocently, grinning from one large ear to the next.
An odd name. But she was glad
She spotted trees around them and smiled a little herself. No- this wasn't the edge of the forest. It went on for far too long for that. Perhaps eternity. "So, what are you doing all the way out here, Friend?"
"uhmmm...lookin' for friends,
"what're you doing all the way out here mrs?"
Sorrel turned herself around
"I..." she stopped, "I was chased out here," Start walking a little faster.
"By it,"
"it? what is it? oooo it,
"and now you're it! but I cannot run so good, so I will just stay up here while you find someone else to be it!"
It bothered her at first,
The rat deer giggled allowing
He rolled a bit, still laughing, before tugging his strings tight again and bouncing up tail wagging like an excited dog's.
"you win!" he chirped brightly, trotting after her again.
Sorrel took off, lightly
Saint giggled, rushing after
He jumped when she crashed rushing over.
"oh no! Friend's friend ran into a tree! naughty naughty tree!" he bounced over, attempting to headbutt the offending foliage.
The tree, clearly, did not care.
Giving up on that he turned to sorrel.
"you are okay yeah~?"
Sorrel shook her head, dizzy
It took a while for her sight to get back in place, and the doubled forest merged into one.
"I'm fine," She stuttered, tottering around a little then shaking her head. "Really,"
In the distance she could make out a cave, once the collision's effects were truely gone.
"D'you like caves?"
"sure! so long as I'm not
his tail gently brushed the ground as it wagged, ears alert and up.
