That's what one of my old art teachers in public school called that drawing technique. It's one of the most handy things I ever learned, and I'm glad to see you're making use of it as well.

Since you're trying to better

Since you're trying to better yourself here:
You often draw very thick, stocky legs, and most deer have much longer, thinner legs.
Your hooves are also a bit off. Check some more references on them! (:
