the forest 'languge' , in my opinion, depends much on the situation you are in and with the feelig of it. there are a few basics.. like bowing for greeting instead of mooing... taunting for express anger... or stuff like that... but you can only learn in throug watching and trying ^^ since a gesture can have a totally different meaning in a different context...
I am fairly new myself, and I know my play style is very different than many other deer.
For example, the bow I use for apology or thanks, but not as a greeting. But even that rule, once in a while, I break.
I would like to encourage you to try and find a method of communicating that works for you. No language was written into this game, and if not for us talking out of game like this, there would never be any rules.
I hope you find the way that suits you best and makes your play fun.
