He loved to see children smile.

Even if they weren't human.

He loved how the fawns giggled when he rolled them onto their backs and blew on their furry little tummies.

and he loved to romp with them through the sweet blueberry patches.

And he loved the wonder in their eyes when he gave them candy that they had never seen.

oh how he loved the sound and sight of it all, their fur sticky with chocolate and jam, toffee and sugar, and he would walk them down to the pond, and watch as they cleaned themselves before bounding off to their mothers and fathers.

Such wonderful adventures they had!
And what wonderful stories he told the little orphan fawns as he tucked them away in the great oak, to each he gave attention, and to each he told a tale, never would he forget one.

He made sure they ate good food before sweets, and he made sure they always cleaned themselves up before bed.

Oh how the sugary stag loved children!

And oh how the children loved him!
