Four paws chasing two feet.
An agile hunter and an unfit runner.
The blue tiger would catch up to me easily.
Quad's paws dug into the ground, making him seem almost weightless with each bound.
My breaths were short, my lungs feeling tight as asthma symptoms began to kick in.
And in one instant, I lose my footing.
He is on me, one paw pressing down on my chest, the claws digging into my flesh.
That face...I see nothing but fangs, a white snout with those black markings, the blue face tense as he snarled.
Those brown eyes looking down on me. The same eyes that have looked to me with love and trust. Now turning against me.
He bends down, I shut my eyes, expecting those fangs to clench my throat.
But instead, he whispers something into my ear.
A word I will never forget, from his voice.
I open my eyes, and he is gone.
In the distance, I no longer see a tiger, but a blue wolf staring at me.
Those eyes. Those beautiful brown eyes.
He knows I got the message.
He lets out a howl, and my body shivers as I listen to him.
The teacher has done his job once again.
And as I watch him, he changes again. No longer a predator now.
His legs slim, his body morphs, his head upright, antlers growing slender.
The blackbuck approaches, and I see his face.
That smile of his, the eyes looking on me with such kindness.
He was no longer angry, he knew I understood.
That word, it continued to echo in my head.
I reach out and place my hand on his chest, feeling the pulse of his heart in rhythm.
I nodded to him, and he nodded back.
I repeat it back to him, so he knows that I got the message.
"Relax"
