~Physical traits~

Carl ignores just about everything regarding his appearance. His owl mask is visibly faded, bears some dirt marks and a lot of scratches, mostly from birds. His pelt is dusty and ungroomed, with bits of dried foliage stuck in it, possibly leaves from the autumn before. His thick, bushy fur is also thought to be home to a small family of two spiders who have, so far, bravely endured Carl's occasional shedding. His posture is tall and straight, thanks to balance practice throughout the years, when every spring a bird builds a nest and raises her young between Carl's antlers. His mask hides his eyes completely. Most of the time he wears a neutral expression or a modest smile. He is extremely quiet, to the point of appearing mute at first; however he is perfectly capable of speech. His laugh sounds like the high-pitched screaming of a teapot.

~Personality~

Carl's favorite activities include lying around, sleeping and contributing little to nothing to society. These traits happen to mesh perfectly with his love for birds. He's willing to stay still like a statue for days on end just to be approached by birds. His infinite boredom can only be quelled by spending time with his friends or infringing on the privacy of strangers. His life goal is to one day become a real character.

~Trivia~

Carl is sleepromantic & slacksexual.
When determined, Carl may spend days without food or water to attract small avians.
Carl has never taken his mask off. Nobody knows what facial features he possesses.
Carl normally consumes 5.5 kg of foliage a day.
Did you know? The smallest deer, the Southern pudu weighs only around 9 kg and gets to be only around 36 cm tall when fully grown.
Carl is completely unrelated to Southern pudu deer.

~Backstory~

According to the standard Big Bang model, the universe was born during a period of inflation that began about 13.7 billion years ago. Initially, the universe was permeated only by energy. Some of this energy congealed into particles, which assembled into light atoms like hydrogen and helium. These atoms clumped first into galaxies, then stars. Our solar system is estimated to have been born a little after 9 billion years after the Big Bang, making it about 4.6 billion years old. Earth formed around 4.54 billion years ago by accretion from the solar nebula. Deer are believed to have evolved from antlerless, tusked ancestors that resembled modern duikers and diminutive deer in the early Eocene, and gradually developed into the first antlered cervoids (the superfamily of cervids and related extinct families) in the Miocene. Eventually, with the development of antlers, the tusks as well as the upper incisors disappeared. Thus evolution of deer took nearly 30 million years.

This brings us to the present.

In a freak accident, Carl cloned himself into the forest from another dimension. This instance of him continues to be unstable. Occasionally, his vision turns dark for some time, only to find once he regains consciousness that he cloned himself yet again. These clones usually just stand around and fade out of existence in a few minutes. It is unknown whether Carl still exists in his original dimension, but in case he does, his continued existence in the forest is proof that he is too lazy to fix his mistakes.
