But it's way different from the other ones, I hope. Well at least the beginning is, you won't expect a TEF story from the start, but it slowly gets there, trust me! This is just a prologue though and it isn't very exciting either, since I'm not a star at English. My grades tell another story, but I'm talking about real writing, not learning words or grammar. Have fun reading anyway, before I start my own life story here.

PROLOGUE
It was early in the morning and a warm, bright sun was shining through the blinds. Rays of light fell upon her face as she slowly opened her eyes. She yawned and stretched herself, she didn’t feel like coming out of bed, but she had no choice. Another day of work had begun and she was already behind on her current project.
She stepped out of bed and slowly walked down the stairs. Not fully awake yet, she opened some curtains. Without mercy, the sun burned her eyes and blinded her for a few seconds. She cursed and backed away from the window. First some coffee, she thought. I’ll dress up later.
She turned on the coffee machine and decided to get the newspaper, when the phone suddenly rang. Probably work, she thought and she picked up. ‘Hello, Sheila speaking.’ She said.
‘Hi there Sheila, how have you been?’ It was her colleague, Matt.
‘I’m fine, thanks. How about you?'
‘I’m pretty excited today! I just heard we are going to work on a new project.’
‘What?’
‘Yeah! You and me together, it’s really going be fun, isn't it?’
‘I’m sure it is. But I haven’t finished my other project yet, I don’t have time for this.’
‘Well, the boss insisted that we would do it. So you can leave your other project for a while, this one concerns him more.’
‘Yes!’ she shouted, she didn’t care if it would sound silly. Even though it was only temporary, she was glad she was released from that ever boring project about Medieval buildings. Sheila still regretted she took that project, but no one else did, so she felt a bit sorry for the man who offered it.
‘Damn, you sound happy!’ She could hear Matt was smiling.
‘Ofcourse! Any project is better than the one I have!’
‘You don’t even know what this one’s about. You want to know now?’
‘Nah, tell me at work. Even though I’m curious, I’m going be late if I don’t leave soon.’
‘Wouldn’t be the first time.’
‘Oh, shut up you!
‘Just teasing dear. Then I’ll see you at work. Bye bye!’
‘Bye!’ Sheila said and hung up. She couldn’t remember the last time she was so excited to go to work, but she had a good feeling about this. Quickly she drank her coffee and went upstairs to get dressed. She pulled out her favorite jeans and a nice, red top. In the bathroom she combed her hair to make a ponytail, but decided it wasn’t needed this time. Her hair looked fine the way it was. Probably her good mood had some influence. After her make-up was done she ran down the stairs, already aiming for the car when she realized she hadn’t eaten anything. So she ran back, grabbed something to eat, her keys and her wallet. She almost forgot to lock the door, but after that she was on her way.
‘There she is!’ Matt shouted happily after seeing Sheila walk in. She smiled at him and gave him a hug. Not only were they colleagues, but Matt was also a good friend of hers. They both started at this job at the same time, but never did a project together before. Sheila sat down next to him. ‘Now you can tell me everything I need to know!’
‘Have you ever heard about a mysterious forest?’ Matt asked.
‘No, why?’
‘Well, near the next village there is a huge, dark forest. In the middle of it, there seems to be another forest. But no one has entered it before, so we don’t know what it looks like. That’s what we’re going to investigate. I hope you took your camera.’
‘Oh dear, I forgot! How stupid! I can’t work without my dear Canon.’
‘Well, with Canon you can’t. But you can borrow my Nikon, it’s much better anyway.’
‘Hey, don’t make fun of my Cannie!’
‘I won’t, don’t worry. But let’s continue about the forest now. They say it’s protected by an invisible wall, that’s why no one can reach it. Not that the wall really bumps you off, but everyone that entered it so far has disappeared. At least, that’s what they say. I hope that didn’t scare you.’
‘Sounds like a ghost story to me, does well at campfires but I don’t think it’s true.’
‘I don’t think so either, but some people are really afraid of it. They tell their kids not the play in that forest.’
‘I wouldn’t let my kids play in any forest by themselves.’
‘Sure, but this one really frightens people. They say it’s hiding enormous creatures with masks and horns.’
‘Like demons? Maybe Satan lives there.’
‘Stop fooling around Sheila, nobody knows what those creatures are. And that’s our job, we have to make photographs of the forest and those beings. Maybe there are living animal species there that are yet to be discovered! We could be the first ones to make pictures!’
‘You’re right! And it sounds interesting, a forest inside a forest. But if it seems dangerous, is it okay to investigate without our safety being guaranteed?’
‘You really don’t think…’ Matt looked at Sheila as if she was joking. ‘But you just said you didn’t believe that story.’
‘I don’t, but isn’t there any proof? No reports of the people that went missing?’
‘Well, there are reports, but the police doesn’t believe the forest is the cause. I mean, those people probably went missing somewhere else.’
‘Can’t we just take something with us? Like a gun or something?’
‘Sure, I always have a handgun with me. So please stop worrying, where is the brave Sheila I used to know?’
‘Still there, but I need to be there when Mr. Winter calls!’ Sheila said smiling.
‘You mean the guy from the Medieval buildings? Come on!’
‘Hey, he calls me everyday! He wants to know how the project’s going.’
‘He does? That man is quite the stalker!’
And while making fun of Mr. Winter, Sheila and Matt decided to start on their project. They made a quick planning, collected some of the material and soon left in Matt’s Landrover.
After one hour they finally reached the dark forest. The sun was climbing higher in the sky and made the forest look a lot happier than most people described it. But the real mystery still was the forest inside the forest, a place unreachable for humans. Sheila and Matt stepped out of the vehicle and started exploring around the forest, looking for pieces of answers. Unfortunately nothing unusual was found, just the normal leaves and tree branches.
‘Looks like we have to go in, Matt.’ Sheila said, after finishing her round around the forest.
‘Yeah, I don’t think we have a choice. I couldn’t wait anyway!’ He seemed a lot more excited than Sheila, who still felt a little uncomfortable about the danger. Ever since Matt told people had disappeared, she had an awful feeling in her stomach. Like something was going to happen. Soon.
When Sheila woke up from her thoughts, Matt had already disappeared in the forest. As fast as she could, she grabbed the camera and run after him. Grabbing the camera was like some sort of reflex, every journalist was taught to do it, in almost every situation. You never knew how valuable a photograph could be.
‘Matt? Where are you?’ Sheila nervously looked around. The dark forest was awfully quiet and she strongly felt like getting away. The further she came towards the inner forest, the more uncomfortable she felt. But her curiosity was stronger than her fear, when she suddenly saw something moving at the edge of the mysterious forest. Slowly, without making a sound she approached the being. From far away it already looked huge, but the animals shade was enormous and Sheila was getting excited: she could have discovered a new species! She hid in a bush and prepared the Nikon for photographing. Quick she made a test photo to see how good it looked. Perfect.
The creature was slowly drawing near, it was approaching her! It movements seemed calm, maybe it was a curious animal, not afraid of human beings. But when it came out of the shadows, Sheila’s eyes grew wide with fear. This wasn’t an animal, this was a monster!
Sheila gasped when she saw the frightening creature. It had a deer-like body, like a full-grown stag, even bigger. His pelt was a darker grey and his antlers were huge, blood-red and intimidating. But what concerned her the most, was his head. It was like hair and flesh were ripped of and only the being’s ivory colored skull was visible. Sheila didn’t see the eyes behind the skull, just two pitch-black holes. She felt her body was shaking and her hands slowly slipping of the camera, she just couldn’t find the strength to hold it. When the creature came closer she closed her eyes, praying it would leave. She felt his warm breathing in her face and started to cry. Tears were running down her face as the creature raised his hoof, ready to strike.
A horrifying scream reached Matt’s ears and made him turn around in shock. Even though he never heard her screaming like that, he just knew it was Sheila. As fast as he could, he ran towards the place it was coming from, while hearing Sheila’s voice begging something to stop. He felt tears burning in his eyes, afraid he would be too late to save her.
Suddenly he stopped and almost tripped over his own feet. A pile of blood was laying in front of him. He softly touched it with his finger, it was still warm and fresh. He swallowed and bit his lip. While praying for the best, he thought of the worst. He looked up from the pile and saw two legs sticking out of a bush. The feet were wearing pink Nike sneakers, no doubt about that. Immediately he remembered the person wearing those sneakers today. Her smile was sweet and attractive and her hair had shone like the sun itself. It was Sheila…
Numb as he felt he approached the body and tried not to look on her face. She was covered with blood and her arms and legs were bruised, her left leg was even broken. It looked like she was beaten to death, but not by another person. He fell on his knees and softly stroked her hair, while closing her eyes to hide the terrified look on her face. It was like she had stared right into Death’s eyes. He threw himself on her body and started weeping loudly, his tears mixing with her warm, crimson-red blood.
