She walked to the graveyard. Her steps were slow and desperate. The music of the dead hummed through the air. At least they had no reason to hate her. No reason to even care for her presence. How she wished to be wise and silent like them.
She fell to the dusty earth. Her fur barely moving in the winter air. The sun shiny down on her relectantly. Why could she not look at them? Was it a hate for them, or for herself? Why couldn't she run free like the fawns. Why couldn't she be free like the dead?
Her eyes scattered across the grave stones. The inscriptions were illegible, nothing more than a scratch here and there. This beings were forgotten. Would it really be better to be dead? To drift off into the dusty earth. She wanted to slowly drift away, maybe a seperation from all she knew would accomplish it. They would slowly forget her just like the graves were forgotten. All good and bad memories of her would blow away with the breeze.
She could return to hiding. To be alone was her wish. One day they'll think back about her, they'll remeber the a foolish doe. One who had not yet learned to love. One who thought she could fight like a stag. One who cowered and whimpered at others approach. One who lost her son. One who gave up her love. One that loved the sunlight and quite. One who told all her secrets to the koi. One who gave up her best friend. Oh that foolish doe. They would laugh and remeber the doe. Her soft waves and slowly darkening eyes. They would forget how she left, why she left. All they knew was this doe did want to love life. She did love life. But it was to late for her to live.
Her eyes stammered open. It was dark, the sound of crickets hummed in the distance. Her body quivered in the cold, her breathe escaped as a fog. And she laid there. The branches below her fur and the trees swaying above her head. She wished the wind would blow her away and lift her to the sky... and return her to the stars. But she was yet to be a lost memory, for it was not yet her time.
"Free like the dead..."
"To be alone was her wish..." He steps back and nods sadly, letting her go free.
As much as he loved her, he couldn't hold her back.
She really just can't take

A single doe approaches, her
Perhaps a fool, but a fool who knows all too well that what the head knows best the heart cannot bear…
She offers her warmth, her comforting silence and knowing eyes, resting her head against the young one’s neck and breathing her in.
“Hide away in thistle sway, take all the time to run. But remember your lost smile’s still that of a child, rediscover your beauty little fallen one…”
