on the first day the prince said

nothing

nothing was first when pain was born
and when pain came to be
nothing was something and thus no more
something was another and this other was not pain
it was comfort

or maybe she said

there is no such things as one when two have to exist to perceive each other
and they are not two but three
now the one is different from the two
but since one cannot exist without the other, there were four

thus there was nothing and something and pain and comfort
without one or the other neither exist
something is pain and nothing is comfort
nothing may very well exist on its own but without something
nothing is never named

perhaps the prince even said

nothing became something when it had a name

and __ ceased to exist when something named it nothing



and on the second day she said


on the second day came a horrible thing called time and passing
it was the funeral of static that she would attend


on the second day the four of two had found the body of static
the former queen nameless and mother of nothing

she might have also said

called they for a funeral when a terrible woman came
she said
i am time and passing, the new queen of this realm
all laws abide by my rules now
they may seem harsh for they ruin the old world of static
yet you must listen

the four shook in terror
and time and passing spoke once more
something will rot into nothing and pain will rot into comfort
comfort will die into pain and nothing will erase into something
there is no such things as stagnancy in my realm
you will die and die a thousand times and see your loved twin move on too
this is unavoidable
your time under me is limited
and you cannot barter for a different fate

while static lived forever in a singular universe of I
eternal, unchanging but also without ability to see herself as how she truly is
forever static
eternal and unchanging
