[center]Plumeria lies dreaming.

Within the close trees and dense bush and twisting roots, in a sunspotted glade with a golden mushroom circle, encircled by a patch of shimmering violets, Plumeria lies dreaming.

It is cold. Frost glazes the ground and crunches beneath her hooves. She shivers, wondering where she is. It is not at all the warm glade in the Forest she knows.
She glances down, and sees the violets, the violets she often speaks to, growing around her feet. As she watches them they begin to tremble their icy petals and sing. They softly sing the melody that always brings burning tears to her eyes...

To my angel in blue
In a Plume of desire
Doth my heart ache for you
Doth thy pelt light the fire
Deep 'thin; of my being
I care for you so
But time has come wailing...
I must let thee go...

And again it is sung as the tears stream down her cheeks. But then it is no more the voices of the violets; it is of
"Taint!"

The cry rips itself out from her mouth. From the violets around her feet sprouts warm golden wisps with firey streaks, and they twist and wrap and twine to form the shape of a doe Plumeria knows so very well.
Taint gives a sad little smile at her, and continues to sing softly. Unable to contain herself any longer, Plume springs forward. She longs to wrap her neck around hers, she longs to be with her at last, and she is so close, just a few more steps-

"I must let thee go..."

And Taint fades away, wisp by wisp. Plume crashes through her fading form, scattering golden flames like frail leaves in the wind.
Her heart explodes with pain. Again, lost. Again the one she loves, gone. She feels like her chest is shattering and she screams to the sky, wailing out the name of her beloved. Tears fall, one by one, and the violets die, one by one, succumbing to the bitter icy wind and the spreading frost.

Snow whipped and swirled around the house, scattering the dead leaves and whistling and rattling through the rafters, the mere sound of it chilled even those who were comfortably wrapped in blankets, such as Calamity and Aspen were. The dim flickering light of candles danced cheerfully on their faces, making a serene, calming atmosphere. Calamity took advantage of that and was soon asleep, her head resting on a reluctant Aspen's shoulder. Aspen looked exasperatedly at the slumbering girl, but sighed in resignation and gently laid back against the couch so as not to disturb her.

Meanwhile, on a shorter couch, Vipin and GoldenWinged were nestled together under a thick afghan, the muted TV's light flickering blue on their faces. Judging by the infomercials cropping up, it was getting pretty late. GoldenWinged could see out of the corner of her eye Vipin's head dip lower and lower as sleep began to overtake him. She draped her arm, around his shoulders and held him close. He reacted by playfully squeezing her middle with his arms already wrapped around her. He rested his head on her hips.

"I love you," he said into her oversized T-shirt.

GoldenWinged let out a surprised giggle. They had been silent for a little more than an hour, letting the warmth shared between them permeate into quiescence.

"I love you too," she whispered, just loud enough for Vipin to hear.

Vipin sighed contentedly and rubbed his cheek against her side, and became still as he drifted to sleep.

I have decided to write an Impressive Title fanfic, but I couldn't find a place to host the story. I know the TEF community site probably wouldn't mind it being there, but since it's IT and not TEF I didn't think it would really fit there. And the IT forums do not have a place that I thought would be appropriate for the story.

So Sluggs offered for me to host the story at the Shady Grove. I'm pleased to announce the story will be written there.

The story will be about my five characters in IT:



While this is an IT story, I may allow guest appearances from my friends in IT as well as TEF - as in your lions and/or deer may be allowed to appear in the story. (Don't worry, your deer won't be slaughtered )

I chose the name Guerra Della Fiera, which means "War of the Prides" in Italian.

Right now the only parts I need are members of The Endless Founders. If you were in this pride, let me know which lion you were so they can be included.
