Seed's Poetry Corner: The Fate of Beauty

The Fate of Beauty

A stag, standing on the edge of the lake,
is too lost in some far-away thought to notice:

The wind rips the poppies
off the antlers of the stag.
They land in the cold water,
for a moment doubled by their reflections,
shimmering like sputtering flames.
Then the water crushes their blushing petals
and drags them slowly under.
They sink, let their tomb steal
the warm color, their only sweet smell,
and are consumed.

((Seed's feeling particularly sad. I'm feeling kinda inspired. The result? Angsty poetry!

Why~ /short story, PLEASE comment |D/

-The cold air gave a chill to the bone that could never be repeated. Screams of pain ripped from the fawns mouth as he was slammed against the trunk of a large tree. The sent of purple flowers wafted through the air as they were splattered with young blood. Tossing his head, the small black fawn struggled to be free of the white antlers that surrounded him, pinning him to his death bed. Blood drooled at the corner of the fawns mouth as the antlers pressed harder and harder against his underside. As the antlers dug deep into his skin, the fawn coughed, sending blood showering the white cage he had gotten himself into. A smirk and a laugh was all the large stag did as he pressed his captive to the breaking point.

As the dawn called, winter birds chirped merrily to one another.
The blood covered snow and flowers showed of a slaughter, but nobody paid any mind. The only thing that truly caught anyones attention was the strange little black fawn with a blood red mark on his face. Its body shivered, trying to keep itself warm as many a doe, stag, and fawn passed by to the grazing area without a second glance. Trying to stand, the fawns body was hit with a wave of burning pain and confusion causing him to fall back down into his blood covered snow. Screaming in pain, he struggled to move, struggled to survive. 'I w-will not be taken down t-that easily next t-time. Once Im better h-he will pay for the suffering he has given to m-me'
Once he gave up on moving from his spot, he curled his body to try and keep warm. Wounds re-opening caused his young body to give a scream of agony that ended with a thick cough, splattering more blood onto the snow.-

Just a little part of the story I was planning to write for Envy to explain why he is so afraid of the large white antlers. I may finish it but im not sure xD

~Tales from the Oak~ (New story! 'Face Value')

Your hooves have carried you through the forest, a whisper in your ears.
The voice tugs at your soul and you float along after it and into the hollowed chamber.
A deep droning reverberates in your chest, lazy crescendos pulsing in rhythm like some behemoth heart.
You find your mind wandering, fantastical notions, ponderings, and soul searching seem so much easier inside the inviting womb of the Oak.
If you think of nothing at all and simply concede to doze you might be lucky enough to hear the voice of Old Oak herself.

Perhaps, if you are a good listener, she’ll share with you a story…

Hooves pound violently against the ground, tossing up the various earths
of the soil, churning them together in the air behind me as I run. No, do you not think run to be
an understatement? I do not run, presumably ; but rather do I sprint, I flee, I dance upon the very
wind that rushes past my ears. My legs extend forwards and back to the fullest extent, muscles
burning as my tendons and joints strain to keep me aloft. The sheer speed and fleeting milliseconds
in which I actually touch the ground are fleeting.
Deer are said to be land animals. I do not think this to be the case.
Rather, do we not fly?

[=#8B7355][=9]But why, why am I propelling myself forward with such haste? Where
am I going?
I know not the answers to either of those, only that I am. I have no reason not to? The pulse of
my heart, pumping blood with a speed that rivals my own matches the beat of my hooves
against the ground. There is not always a reason to run, but there is no reason not to.
Tensing my back leg muscles, I leap repeatedly over stones and logs, slowing down after
the shock of each one, then amping up and sprinting once more. But after this last one,
something in my ankle begins to smite, and I pause in my tracks, settling into a decent lope,
favoring that tender front leg.
Nothing seemed to be too wrong, but to be sure, I set my face towards what I call home
in this forest ; a short distance away, luckily. Upon sighting the single log, I rush to it,
leaning my weight against it as I settle down amongst the ferns and wheat plants on one
end, ignoring the grass and red flowers at the other. Moving a few stones away with my
