Terabetha's Teradeer in a grumpy mood. I drew it because I think it is the best, most creative and memorable TEF deer design ever. And I dislike drawing antlers in weird angles.
This. Is. Awesome! 8D
The expressing is fantastic, all the skin folds and the drool are fantastic details. Your glowing praise as well as your art honors me, thank you.
I'm digging the style, and applaud you for the work you put on every damn wrinkles, the teeth, that creeps me out really bad, and even the bubbling, however discret, skins around the antlers! Urgh!
Horrible in a awesome way!
There's only one thing that looks a bit off for meh, you did a really slight 3/4 with the face, but it looks as if the mouth is faaaaar more 3/4ish, a bit crooked in a weird angle, almost as if you added it after the rest.
Nayu, you got me right with the mouth. When I did it, I also though it was way too wide, and tried to give it perspective, you know, like the left par of the mouth was going "against" the head, if you know what I mean. It was just too late. The antlers could've been better. Perspective is a think I need to work on.
Edit: Or is it the long melted gap on the chest you're talking about?
I did copied the chest, did the melted mouth and then put it into the picture, so I could remove some paint that got out of the line.
No no, I'm indeed talking about the mouth! I guess you were too subtle in your effect, especially since the whole drawing is about wide and exagerrated traits!
But I can see now what you tried to do, a bit as if the mouth's flesh was sagging in a arc? Arggh, in that case, shouldn't the head be slighty titlted to suggerate movement?... Perspective can be hell!
I agree a bit with the antlers needing a tad more work, though I love the bony side you gave them, the subtle bumpy surface is really well done, its just that they are well detailed at the base and too smooth at the end.
I tried to make it look like Teradeer was raising its ubber lib flashing it's teeth like a predator. I overdid it, haha!
And sorry, your words and setence is too sofisticated for a non-english person like me, but I almost understand what you're saying. The antlers had a strange angle, making it hard to decide how the shadows to fall. I could take up the drawing again, drawing a bit more on them. Yes, I'll do it right away, and then you can see if they got better.
Oh my...I'm the one who got it all wrong!! I thought the melting flesh, as you call it, was part of the mouth, like one of those monsters sometimes got in horror movies...
Urgh...*rendered speechless*
Hahaha, I understand your confuseness, Nayu. Terabetha's Teradeer IS a very special character. It's jaw has melted off by acidic words, as she told me, so there's only this flesh thing and the hole to the stomach left.
I keep looking at this and thinking how awesome it is. The detail you put into the folds and furrows on the face...it looks so real and touchable. (Not that I would want to touch Teradeer when it's in a bad mood!)
