small little RPs have been going on in the background as the player has a difficult time getting into the forest currently due to a new job and lack of RL time.
Ayaki has been teaching the twins words and playing with them around the thicket. Each of the twins have been given a guardian wisp for protection and shes begun to allow them to wonder a small radius away from the thicket. Although she will always be an ear shot away from them, shes a little over protective. But can you blame her, these are her first fawns and she had complications during labor so shes worried.
Today IN GAME:
Ayaki woke early in the morning while her boys still laid to rest in the thicket. Stretching her limbs she walked out into the early morning light. Her winter coat has begun to shed in patches, leaving her unhappy with her current looks and she hated it. She has been rubbing her body frequently against the trees within the surrounding area leaving tufts of pure white fur stuck to the bark. Ayaki soon wonders off to the idols tears to bathe in the cool waters, before finding a patch of grass with a beam of sunlight pouring down upon it. She lays on her side legs stretched out as she closes her eyes, enjoying and basking in the sunlight while her wisps flutter overhead. She keeps an ear turned towards the thicket listening carefully for any noise or commotion.

Ayaki rests at the thicket waiting for the boys to wake up, for perhaps an adventure to the pond. The day seems to be warm and a ray of sun breaks through the trees limbs close to the thicket, warming the grass. Ayaki stands and walks away from the thicket leaving the boys in the care of their father, for a little alone time. She curls up in the sunny spot, allowing the sun to warm her fur. lifting her head up to the sky she closes her eyes and take a few deep breaths cherishing her life. The sun reflects off her gold antlers casting little rays of light on the forest floor.

Adair had been playing in the blue berry bushes while Ayaki laid resting with a sleepy Galloway. Under the watchful eye of his mother he played with Mesi & Clementine. Ayaki watched as they ran around hopping and jumping around the thicket. She looked away for one second and the next thing she knew her little boy was covered in blue berry juice, his light color fur would be stained for days. She smiled and laughed at the little fawn until he was ready to rest again, then she would begin to groom his fur. What a tasty mess!
2-15-2019
The soreness from childbirth has lessen greatly as she stretched her legs to get up. The boys have been restless and already showing their growing personalities. Galloway loves to stay in bed and cuddle while Adair is ready to go and explore. The small fawn wobbles on his unsteady legs following after mom as she goes to get a drink from the crying idols river. As the twins follow her Ayaki tries to introduce them to water, although it doesn't go exactly to plan. They aren't fans of the cold water, perhaps we will try again in the summer.
2-14-2019
As the fog dispersed the sky opened up and began to rain. The boys weren't a fan of the water and shivered as they got wet. Ayaki stood over her boys to keep them warm and allowed them to wonder and play if they wanted too, but it was a fairly quiet day.
2-13-2019
Today the forest was thick in fog as the boys clung to their mothers leg wherever she walked. She gave each of them a guardian wisp to follow them, and protect them. But in this dense fog it would help her find them if they wondered too far. "little wisps this is a fallen cloud, hes come down from the sky to play." she tried to make every new interaction fun for them.

While the two fawns laid besides her form she hummed softly. It felt so unreal to her as they were finally here. She couldn't have been more blessed by the gods to give her two sons. The cow's ears fell slightly as she thought about her sister in her home world. She would have loved to have her here for their birth, but she wouldn't let the emotions of the past take away from her sons. She groomed them softly while they slept in hopes to not wake them. By the soft glow of the wisps light she looked over the two boys seeing where they got their looks from mostly. As she nosed Galloway she could feel the soft prickles of gold barbs. she smiled silently to herself wondering how she even birthed him. Little Adair had flecks of gold the shimmered in the night. her heart flutters as she leaned down to make sure the child was still breathing. a moment passed as her heart clutched in her chest before releasing as she heard his soft snores. It would be some time before they left the protection of the thicket, but she already couldn't wait.

Ayaki went into labor late last night, tossing and turning as she tired to get some sleep. the contractions of the coming fawn grew more intense as the night went on, by early morning her natural instincts kicked in and she began pushing. she had been experiencing difficulties as this was her first child birth and with being an older caribou cow she contributed the difficulties to her age. Diolmhain was extremely supportive grooming her and making her feel as comfortable as she possibly could. By mid afternoon she could see the beginning signs of her fawn as the hooves and legs are exposed with the last push. Several moments pass until the fawn is completely out. Happy of their sons birth she begins grooming the little fawn giving him the name Galloway. The three remain curled up together in the thicket until she feels the soft kicking from within her. A second one! Alarmed by how much time had passed between the birth of their first fawn and the second that still remains to be born. Ayaki's emotions sore into a panic as she nervously begins pushing. The soft kicks stop and it causes her to worry even more. The second fawn comes much faster than the first one, although the whole birthing process has paid its toll on her. Her fur was drenched in sweat as she shakes from the exhaustion and the pain. Hours later she finally gives birth to a smaller fawn, lighter in color and frailer. She begins grooming the fawn and noticed he was limp and he wasn't breathing. She cried and began rubbing her nose against the fawns back and grooming him. she cries out as her wisps collect around the small body. She cries out and thrashes her head and antlers into the wisps crying out not to take the fawn and to leave him alone. She rolled the fawn slightly to rub at its chest and breath a breath of air into the fawns nose. She didn't want to loose her fawn, her heart and gut were twisted with emotions. Dio watched on as his mate fought for the young fawns life while keeping their first born safe and warm. Moments pass before the small fawn coughs and takes a breath of air. Relieved Ayaki drops to the forest floor to clean and groom the fawns emotionally drained. Once calmer she names the second fawn Adair, curling tightly around the fawns. she hums the song of the wisps to her fawns while Dio and her rest from the events, thankful they were able to bring both of their fawns into the world. The family falls asleep in the soft blue glow of the wisps as the blink in and out all around them.
2-09-2019
The pain and pressure grew with each passing moment as the sun set upon the forest for the night. Ayaki lays curled with Dio in the thicket, trying to stay as comfortable as possible, but the fawn was really pushing on her stomach. She focuses on her breathing and staying calm as she knows these are the beginning signs of labor. feeling restless and uncomfortable she begins to pace the thicket and outside of it, easing the pain and pressure. Although exhaustion begins to settle in as she hasnt been sleeping well, unable to get comfortable. Once the fawn finds a spot to rest and the contractions lessen she tries to get some sleep leaning against Dio's side, but the contractions wake her throughout the night. Uncomfortable and tired Ayaki paces the thicket and tries to get some sleep, but its going to be a long night ahead of her.
2-03-2019
today she was able to get some well needed rest. the fawn was relaxed for once allowing her to get some sleep, although her mind was restless filled with terrible images of the past, and ones that she feared were an untold future. She stirred late in the evening feeling rested but the movement within her belly was still calm and thus caused her to panic. She got to her hooves quickly and began pacing and walking down the stream towards the pond. She waded in the water swimming towards the deepest end in hopes the the physical activity may wake the fawn within her. She tread water for several minutes panting heavily before she felt the first kick that stretched at her stomach. Her heart sang at the movement as she breathed a sigh of relief. These nightmares were messing with her head, and her heart couldn't take it if something were to happen to her little wisp. She dreams of what the fawn will look like. she swam to the ponds shore and shook off her fur and returned to her thicket looking for Dio as she needed his support.
1-25-2019
As time went on Ayaki was growing more and more restless. Her belly was stretching her skin to the limits and she really couldn't find a comfortable way to lay and soon found herself standing for long periods of time leaning against the trees. She hasn't been able to sleep properly in days as images of the past have been haunting her dreams, and there are more voices than one within her dreams. Some of the events shes been dreaming about she's visited before, but there are more recent events that concern her. Plus her lullaby to both her babe and the wisps has been attracting a lot more attention than she had hoped. Perhaps the increase in spiritual presence is the cause for all of this. The fawn remains strong kicking at her sides and resting high within her rib cage, making it hard to breath. She is happy that the young one is healthy and happy within her, but she cant wait to meet them. "A girl....or a boy?" she asks herself when shes alone trying to envision what their fawn will look like. The fear of child birth creeps ever so nearer in her mind.

She was restless last night as the young within her was restless and kicked at her sides. She tossed but their restlessness was incessant and thus brought her to her hooves. She walked through the quiet forest, the moon shining down upon her and reflecting off the winters snow. It had been some time since she walked the forest and thus she decided to call for the wisps. Although the gods have blessed her with life within her womb, there were still lost souls out there looking for love....looking for a home, and she searched for them.
Her song started off with a louder call, before becoming serene and angelic. the sound as if an eerie ghost sang while the rest of the forest remained asleep. Specks of light began to flash and dance in the distance as her own wisps swayed and twisted around her, their fire burned bright. Her song always seemed to calm the young within her which caused her to smile. Soon little one.... 1-12-2019
Enjoyed her time in the forest resting with a few unknown fawns to her. Doted on them as a mother would as her maternal instincts are strong. Played with them briefly before needing to rest as she grows tired quickly. Enjoyed the playtime and has been blessed as the illness of her pregnancy seems to be gone, although still enjoys the mint from Dio on occasion. 1-06-2019
* Was restless today and walked to the pond and around the forest until she was able to grow comfortable, wished Dio was around to lean on, or for a massage. Feels slightly grumpy from her large and sore belly today. Achy is better than getting sick.
Short Past Updates
* Has been relaxing with friends as everyone is excited about the holidays and festivities. She isn't super active right now due to her physical appearance, jumping is feels like a crashing weight on her spine when she lands. lol (SHES HUGE) But non the less she has been enjoying everyone's frequent visits.
* Jude came and visited her right before Christmas as well as after to exchange gifts. The two talked for hours as she warmed him and groomed him. He's excited for the fawn to be born. He was able to feel it kick and move within her. He wants to show her his fathers world, and she told him to ask permission first, but she plans to visit so he can show her the flower fields and his squirrel friends.
* Was visited briefly by Nix as he was visiting his friends spot again. the two talked until he bid himself adieu. She has grown rather fond of the stag and enjoys his company.

Ayaki woke late in the evening, one could consider it early morning as she felt a chill go across her back, when she opened her eyes she was greeted by the first snow fall of the year. She quickly got to her hooves and shook off the snow from her fur and stuck her tongue out to catch the snowflakes that were falling. She giggled and began prancing around and rolling in the snow all while talking to her fawn. Telling them about the snow and how fun it is to play in. She cant wait to meet the little wisp growing within her. The forest was quiet as many still remained tucked away in their warm homes. The only sounds she heard were the soft crunching underneath her hooves and her chilled breath. She played for some time and enjoyed a walk to the pond while the snow fell, she sang softly in search of the lost souls within the forest, hearing soft answers. She collected the souls that came to her before returning to her thicket basking in the moonlight and snow fall. 12-21-2018
This morning the forest was covered in a light frost as every step was greeted with a wintry crunch. She stretched her limbs and shook her fur free of the frost as the warm morning sun greeted her. She was thankful for her long fur during these long wintry months and this was only just the beginning. As she was basking in the warm sun a naked deer came and greeted her. she bowed back and motioned for the other to join her. The two laid in the sun for some time until the naked deer fell asleep besides them. Ayaki took to grooming the deer while they slept besides them as her maternal instincts were high.
Was later visited by Levant, whom she hasn't seen in quiet awhile. Was overjoyed by their visit as they had much to talk about.
12-19-2018
The pregnancy has been a little rough as she been unable to keep much down she has been feeling weak and hasnt been leaving the comfort of the thicket to wonder the forest. She tries to stretch her legs every day and walk down to the pond to enjoy bathing in the cold water before returning to the warmth of the thicket. She been staying hydrated but her usual meals of blueberries and greens havent been settling. Shes looking into other things to eat, perhaps mushrooms.
12-18-2018
Ayaki woke to find another was laying nearby. Originally startled and unsure of the visitor she began talking to them. The creatures name was Nix and they were very kind. The two laid together for some time talking about the past and getting to know each other a little better.
12-14-2018
Woke in the forest to see several others laying nearby in pairs. She decided to mind her own business grooming herself among the blueberries thinking of Dio while humming softly to herself. Although no one could hear he soft song unless she connected to them telepathically. The soft glow of wisps travel and swirl around the general area as she rests shifting into the forms of different animals.
She has been feeling uneasy and rather ill these passed few days, but the fawn within her has grown active with each passing day, as if they were squished. Soft kicks and pokes can be felt on her belly.

NEW CSS and i will post all past and current updates soon.
Deer form:
Ayaki has a pure white pelt and large golden antlers that hold the souls in between them, almost like a securing hug. The souls are an iridescent blue color , one always stays between her antlers, but she can be seen with souls/ will-o wisps, following after her from time to time. Or sometimes she will be alone without wisps. Built more like a caribou.
Human form:
Ayaki is of Sweden decent, specifically from the old world. Physically she has a very slender figure, athletic in build. Skin is white as snow or of the finest porcelain with a hint of a purplish ivory. Her eyes are of the brightest and clearest blue color with long flowing wavy light blonde hair. Face Claim: jonna jinton
Wisps/spirits:
The Lost spirits of this world and the next cling to Ayaki. They are her children. The wisps are a iridescent blue color and glow. The are seen in two different forms, many have the ability to change shape into creatures. Or they are simply small blue orbs. They look very fire like and wispy.
Calling the Wisps
This is based off of the ancient Swedish Kulning of cow herds in the old world. Ayaki sings a similar song to the lost souls within the forest bringing them home to her. Each family had their own song to sing to bring their herds down from the mountains, and thus this song can be passed/taught to her young. Here are some beautiful examples of the Kulning.
This song can be heard throughout the forest and if anyone wants to start an rp based off of it let me know.
History:
Born in the royal family of the far north. Aya was truly beautiful; porcelain skin the color of milk and blonde locks the shined like gold in the lights. And beautiful blue eyes that matched the oceans color off of the ridges edge. Her father cherished her thinking of all the riches and lands that she could bring to the family. She was a perfect match for any of the courtiers. But she wasn't the only one who could bring her father riches. Aya had an older sister. Her name is Merion. She favored her fathers looks; porcelain skin but her locks are a dark brown. Green eyes the color of sage. Merion grew jealous of Aya. All of the men came to court her. Her beauty, personality, and youth surpasses her own. One of the men visited more often then the others, gaining Aya's and her fathers favor. This was the young eastern prince that Aya was destined to marry. Merion wrote to the man telling him false stories of Aya and the other courtiers. So on his next visit after meeting with Aya he sought out Merion. "Good evening my dark beauty." He said kissing her hand. The prince stayed a few hours. Merion gave the prince what he wanted and fell in love with him as the time past. But still their father wished to wed Aya to the prince. Both Merion and the prince were disappointed, but due to bridal rules. If your bride dies you can marry the sister if available as a replacement. Merion suggested the matter, but the prince didn't wish ill on Aya, so he left Merion alone in her room.
Completely unaware of the affair between Merion and the prince. Aya prepares for the wedding. Gathering her chests together and sewing the two houses crests into a fine silk blanket. Less than a month she would be wed. She cared for the prince he was a fine husband material and he was handsome. Merion was forced to help her sister prepare for the wedding which she wished so much to be her own. The time couldn't pass fast enough. Merion grew more envious as the weeks passed and thought ill thoughts of Aya. Her death will come soon enough she thought.
Merions letters flowed to the prince. She talked of scenarios of Aya's passing. The prince wanted nothing to do with this and burned them after reading. The wedding will span over 3 days. The first day is the meeting of the families. The second day is the day of games in honor to the family and the rehearsal dinner will be held. And the last day would be the wedding and seeing the bride off. Or in this case Aya's last breath of life. Forever changing to Ayaki in the endless forest.

I'll use my boy Actaeon. He needs more love than I give him-plus a bio overhaul, he's a lot nicer now than his bio says he is.
The black and gold stag paused on the bank in front of the Idol. His blue gray eyes scanned the area, making sure he wasn't intruding upon someone else resting near the waters. His scarf hung down the left side of his body and his face still remained maskless. He hadn't figured out how to fix the broken string. His fur was a bit disheveled, the scar on his right shoulder and the pair that ran down some of the length of his right side added to that effect. They were still healing scars, and the muscle under the one on his shoulder liked to give him a hard time on occasion- he assumed it'd grow worse when the weather turned, it already was bad when he ran around too much. Deeming it okay, Actaeon proceeded to move down the bank, slowly edging his way closer and closer to the tears of the Idol, his aim was to not get completely soaked through. While it was nice to rest in the sunspots it took a while before his scarf dried, and since he didn't know how to get it back on by himself once it was off, he was tethered there until it dried.
The Idol's tears was a dull roar in his ears, blocking out the sounds of the birds chirping or the squirrels running in the trees. It was almost peaceful, the way the sun filtered down on him or the gentle kiss of a warm summer wind. It was easy for him to put his guard down, lulled into the false sense of security the forest provided. He felt him relaxing, bit by bit, the longer he soaked his shoulder, feeling his eyes slowly close to the world around him.
Ayaki was running through the forest. It was a nice hot day and the sun poured through the forests canopy. Briefly she stopped at the pond to get a drink of water and to cool herself off. Wadding into the waters she laid down for some time, but the wisps had other ideas. They flew off in one direction and seeing there outburst Ayaki began to chase after them. Her fur soaking wet dripping as she chased them. The twist and twirled through the air ahead of her. She was running up the side of the crying idol river. Her wisps are like children always running and playing, she enjoyed their company. But she stopped when she noticed a black and gold stag sleeping and one of her wisps was twirling and spinning in circles above the stag. "Don't even think about it..."
she said, but only the wisp heard it.
she walked towards the male. Her eyes glance to the trouble making wisp and back to him. He seemed sound asleep. As she approached the wisp took a turn to and flew straight down to the males nose. Exploding into a little wispy blue fire. "Dammit!" She said again unheard. She watched as the wisp reformed and flew off, but her attention turned back to the male.
Thanks for the tracks guys
@jennie: I have the newest version of the game so i believe it is the 3.41 version. I've only been playing for about 2 months. why? out of curiosity.
The stag awoke to a blue shadow flickering past his vision, and naturally jerked back. He wasn't really...no take that back, he was in no way, shape or form expecting that. He ended up practically sitting on the bank, his forelegs stopping him from falling into the water. Taking in a shaky breath, the stag's head turned to the doe, a look of shock and puzzlement plain on his face, "What...what was that?"
Ayaki stared at the now flustered stag. She held in her laugh because of his reaction but she looked towards the wisp until his voice pulled her back. Usable to speak to him yet she shook her head no and shrugged. Her eyes carried the sincerest of emotions. She glared at the wisp that flies above hoping the male will notice it.
Actaeon's gaze flickered to the wisps, watching them for several moments. His eyes narrowed as he tried to make sense of it. But...he couldn't. "Those aren't souls...are they?" there was a bit of fear in those words. His voice had gone down to a whisper. What if they were? What if she kept them? Like Persephone? He eyed her nervously, wondering if she was going to take him away or tell him everything he had just went through was a mistake. He was supposed to go to the underworld.
Ayaki shook her head yes but she could sense the males discomfort and was unsure of how to approach him. She couldn't communicate until the bond was formed and this male looked as if he was scared of her. She walked slowly towards the male her ears flat and down against her head. She was trying to be submissive, but with antlers this was a difficult task. She closed the distance between her and the male. Her gaze constantly on him. She pressed her nose to his chest almost shoulder area. She quickly moved away readying herself for a kick or a headbutt, some form of a confrontation. "Ahh..." she whimpered. But the male heard the voice in his mind now.
Alarm flared through him when she not only failed to respond, but came closer. But, he didn't want to go back! He started to try to struggle to get his back hooves under him, but the doe pressed her nose to his shoulder and then backed off. He felt his alarm falter a bit, surprise trying to overtake his thoughts when he heard her voice in his head. At least, he thought it was her voice, it wasn't his, and it wasn't any female voice he recognized. He just stared at her for a long moment, before speaking up in a shaky voice, "What are you...?" he meant it more to himself than to her...but...she...just spoke in his head, right? He didn't think that was possible...ever...and the fact that shock left him feeling like it was perfectly normal stunned him even more.
Ayaki had held her eyes shut and held her ground waiting for the attack, but instead the male in a shake tone spoke to her. Opening her eyes and relaxing she turned to face the male. "I'm not sure of what I am, but I mean you no harm. My name is Ayaki." she spoke. Her voice was angelic and soft, but her voice did not speak alone. There were other soft voices underneath hers. "I'm sorry about the wisp from before, They can be very treacherous and playful." she continued glaring at the wisp twirling above. From the other side another small blue wisp caressed her side. She turned to it and it rubbed against her face. She closed her eyes until it flew off again. "I'm sorry if they spooked you. What is your name?" she asked, the whole time she spoke in his head and never out loud.
Actaeon felt rather overwhelmed, not just by her voice but by the onslaught of new information. Wisps...the little blue things. So they weren't souls? And she wasn't a goddess sent down to take him to the underworld? Perhaps not. Ayaki. That was her name. He simply stared at her until his mind came back to him. "I'm...Actaeon." he tried his best to stop the quiver in his voice.
Ayaki moved away from the male to try and make him feel more at ease. "I'm sorry again about the fright. They are like children." she spoke. "Well Actaeon, it is nice to meet you." she replied bowing at the male. Ayaki was unsure of what to do, she didnt wish to intrude on the male anymore than she already had. "Sorry to have disturbed your nap." she said turning to make her way. "Perhaps we will meet again, but on better terms." she continued. The doe began to turn to walk away, quickly glancing to the skies for her wisp.
It was in the moment of her walking away that he realized how starved for company he really was. "No...no wait." He took a couple of stumbling steps after her before he stopped himself. What was he doing? No one made him run after them. He was too proud for that. At least he used to be. Was he cracking now? Now, after all the pressures and demands had been lifted away? Now, when he was free? Or was he not free? Was he ever really truly free, as it was? He tried to compose himself, but failed for the most part. His dignity had died somewhere. He wasn't sure where exactly. He dropped his gaze to his hooves, staring at the edge of his scarf. "I would really appreciate it, Ayaki, if you took some time out of your day to..." He faltered, uncertain how to ask without coming off rude. Keep me company? That made him sound haughtier than he was. "...to..." He tried again only to falter into silence. He closed his eyes, scrunching his face in a grimace as he started over in a low voice, "I would really appreciate the company if you wish to stay." Actaeon Bowes his head, keeping his eye closed as he waited on her response.
Ayaki stopped when she hear the words of the male. He wanted her to stay with him. He looked like he had been through a lot, his voice showed many emotions as he spoke. And the way he chased after her. It was odd behavior but she knew that he needed her...or something. Turning to face the male again she walked towards him. "Of course I'll stay....if that is your wish." she spoke "What would you like to do? rest in the water? Go for a stroll?" she asked giving suggestions. The wisps twirled around both of them. The seemed interested in the male, getting closer. Ayaki eyed them cautiously. The male was not used to these wisp and she didn't wish to startle him further. Ayaki bowed her head down and rubbed her cheek against the males lifting his head.
He didn't really shy away from her touch, though it did distract him from the little wisps that came closer.
"I'm not sure..." I just don't want to be left alone. he trailed off, before shrugging his shoulder, testing the tightness of the muscle, "Maybe a stroll?"
Ayaki smiled and spoke softly in his head. "A stroll sounds fine to me." she waited for the male to get up and she walked around him getting to his right side. "So Actaeon, tell me about yourself." she spoke she was interested in this stag. He was gentle and it wasn't always the case with males. She began her walk keeping pace with the male. They had no destination, they just enjoyed the company of each other for now.
The stag didn't answer for several moments, but when he did he sighed, "Well...what do you want to know?" There was too much to tell, too much he might skip over and he really had no idea where to even start.
Ayaki tilt her head wondering just what she wanted to know. "Well, I'm not sure." she said laughing. Her laugh was soft and it was one of those laughs you couldn't help but laugh at or with. "I just wanted to get to know you better, so really anything you wanted to tell me." she said glancing towards the male. "But if you would prefer not to that is fine as well." she continued. "I haven't really spoke to many people, so I am unsure of how to go about introductions." she spoke. Ayaki's body rubbed up against the males briefly while they walked. "oh! sorry." she said glancing towards the touch. seeing his scar she moved further away. "I didn't hurt you did i?" she asked worried.
He felt himself sway, but kept his balance. "No, you didn't hurt me." he assured her, only to press on, "And I don't really know what to tell you about me...I'm not very...exciting." he shrugged apologetically, turning his head enough to allow his blue gray eyes to fix on hers. "A lot of my history I don't like to freely talk about...it's not all good things. Now I just sort of...exist. I don't see many others anymore...and I don't have many good friends...." another apologetic shrug, "again...I'm not super exciting." he hadn't meant it to be as final sounding as it became, but once the words were out he couldn't take them back. He dropped his gaze to focus on the ground, the scarf waving along his left side and a slight limp still visible where his shoulder muscle was still warming up. His face had relaxed a bit, ears drooping as he focused on the ground. He missed his mask in some ways. He didn't want to show off the little scars that crisscrossed his face, nor did he like the idea of allowing his expressions to be seen. At least with a mask his voice held the emotion. Now he couldn't hide. He had no safety net anymore. Aside from the scarf.
"One doesn't have to be super exciting to be interesting...." she spoke looking towards him "I find it interesting that you wear a scarf, something from my old land." she continued. "Plus most males are more aggressive in my opinion, or from those i've met, where your docile...I enjoy that." she spoke again. She was trying to praise him on what he has now, not on the things he used to have. "Well possibly we can become good friends then." she said with a tone of excitement on her voice. One of the wisps flew ahead of them and burst into a Eagle shape and flew ahead of them. She glanced towards the wisp still in awe herself of their creativity and playfulness.
Docile...he mused over that before he was struck by the 'maybe we can become good friends' part. "Perhaps we could..." he agreed quietly before he realized she had mentioned a 'homeland'. "You were human once?" he glanced at her curiously, but went on to say, "The scarf was never mine. It was given to me upon my death. It was the last thing I saw. I hate it as much as I cherish it."
Ayaki sighed "At one time, yes i was human. But i was murdered and thrown to die in the forest." she spoke with a bitter tone. She glanced to him "You died as well? where you once human? It might explain my being here?" she questioned him almost hopeful.
"Someone once told me that this place is like a second chance. If the Twins see something in you, then you get to come here...is how I understood it. You were murdered...I was too...it's a second chance at living." his gaze flickered to her, then to the wisps. They made no sense though. If she was murdered...what were they doing there? Granted there might be more to her story than what she said, since she spoke in her mind as oppose to out loud too... just as there were things he didn't want to talk about.
Ayaki nodded her head. "yes, i remember the god's, they took pity on me in the woods, granting me life here." she spoke. She caught the male looking at the wisps. "They cling to me...."she began "the wisps....They feel protected by me, attracted by my soul..." she spoke. She shook her head and her fur flowed, the male could smell her scent which smelled of fresh rain. "Perhaps we could rest over here and talk more." she asked heading towards a willow tree next tot he pond.
"You've met them?" He asked as he followed after her. He didn't remember them, just remembered his death and life before he woke up again. He tried to keep pace with her, but the way the wisps moved about sort of unnerved him. He still didn't know what to make of them when it came right down to it. They were attracted to her... Alright. As long as she wasn't some siren that was going to turn him into one too...then again being a care free wisp didn't seem all that bad. A much better bondage than what he had before.
Ayaki nodded her head. "I meet them when i first entered the forest. I was asleep and it was night time, they gathered around me swirling. I myself found them rather odd and scary at the time." she spoke looking towards one now. "But it touched me.....it was cool and soft, sincere....almost like it knew what happened to me." she continued her head low. "I know of there stories, i hear their voices...their stories...." she spoke glancing quickly to him. She was unsure how he would react to her, a freak. She shied away from him, their sides no longer touching.
I think he has been shell shocked out of "weird" by now. And she's referring to the wisps right?
"That's interesting." He muttered, looking at the ground, "My death was arranged. Always was. I just decided the time I was to die." He shrugged apathetically, his gaze barely going up from the ground. "Why do you flinch away?" It was a calm, almost dead question, like the way a child pointed out a behavior with genuine curiosity.
yes it was about the wisps, and they way she was able to communicate with them.
Moving closer to him her head held low she spoke. "I flinched away because I feel that communicating with wisps is weird. Plus I can't communicate with anyone, unless I form a bond." Her body brushed up against his again. "why was your death arranged?" she asked curiously. "If you feel like telling me....if not thats fine. It's personal." she said
This is going to be an extremely unusual analogy, but my mind is tired and when it does that logic is sort of reinvented. And as I get halfway through this my tired mind realized a puppeteer would be a much better analogy. But I like this.
"My death was arranged because they wanted it to be." He answered simply. He made it seem like that was all he had to say on the subject; a simple enough response for a not so simple question. Yet as the heartbeats ticked on it was clear he was trying to find some way to explain to her. "I was never a clever man." He exclaimed in a quiet voice, "I might have been able to count thirty some years upon my death but age never made me wise." the slightest of smiles formed on his face, only to turn bitter, "No I had people to be wise for me."
Another heartbeat of pause.
"Have you ever set an ant adrift in a puddle?" It seemed to be meant as a hypothetical question, as the male merely took a breath before continuing to explain, "He is stranded in his little leaf boat, water on all sides but with land in sight. He can swim, but he will flounder in the water. It turns from a bite at freedom into a struggle for life. He can try to paddle, but he has little means of doing so. It is a fruitless effort. He is at the mercy of the wind, of the currents, of things, bigger things that might want to come out of the depths of the puddle and eat him. For he is nothing more than an ant. Though strong he can be crushed. Though skilled he can meet puzzles that not even he has control over.
"The real holder of the ant's life is you. Not the water. Not the fates. Not the current or the wind. You. You were the one who put the ant adrift in the first place. You were the one who stood above, watching the ant list off its escapes and realize it is at your mercy. Just as you place the ant in the water you could choose to save him, pluck him from the drowning he no doubt would receive."
Another long, steady breath. "I was like that ant. I was strong, I held my own version of power. I held my own skill. But someone who was far stronger than me stood above me as I sat in my leaf boat. It didn't matter how much I thought I could beat the system, it didn't matter how much favor I could gain, because in the end they decided I needed to be a dead ant, not a live one. " he sighed, closing his eyes briefly, "I was a general. A Greek general that was handed my defeat after my victories. That was forced to slay my own men. That was a toy, a plaything of the emperor. A dancing ant to amuse the crowd. They just needed a reason to kill me. Something small or petty would do, bigger was better still. They really didn't need a reason, I was a prisoner of war, that dictates they could do whatever they wished with me. But they just didn't want to look like the barbarians they truly are."
Ayaki was quiet and listened to his whole story. The male must have trusted her enough to indulge this information to her. She was saddened by his words, but like he said his death was arranged. "Even in your death you were given the chance to live again. You are free from them now...right? Why not decide to do something become someone." she said getting excited and trotting in front of him and stopping facing him, causing him to stop as well.
"When I was murdered It was hours after my wedding day. I wanted to be a mother to have a family and all of that was striped from me, was my death planned I don't know. But I was given a second chance....and the wisps." she said looking to them. "They were around me when I woke, the cling to me, I'm their mother..." she said softer.
"And just like that you could make yourself someone important. A friend...A lover... and so on." he voice sounded happy and excited. "Although an Ant in your pass life, killed by barbarians....you stand now. Strong, even as a wounded warrior." she continued. "It's your life....to do with as you please." she spoke walking towards him, her face inches from his. Her bright blue eyes stare back at him. "So what are you choosing to do?" she asked.
Actaeon wasn't prepared for the turn in the conversation.
Do something.
Become someone.
What are you choosing to do?
"I...I..." he fumbled for words as he backed up a few steps, "I'm not as young as I used to be. I don't know if I still can do something with my life." Despite his words, he couldn't help but feel a bit excited at her enthusiasm. Was there still something left for him? He never had a family...he had given up hope of ever even going home once he was caught by the Romans...he didn't think he was able to make a name for himself. All of the weird adventures he had wouldn't be believed. Like the chicken lizard...for instance. The one that messed up his shoulder. He had the scar and the healing wound but that was it. Only Pica had been there, and she was just a child...no one believed the stories of children.

He felt him relaxing, bit by bit, the longer he soaked his shoulder, feeling his eyes slowly close to the world around him.

she walked towards the male.
