August 25, 2008 - 12:52am — Blackhoof
Anyway, because of increasing bordem and such, I decided
to just do this because I'm crazy. I don't know if anyones done this
before, but since we have so many artist up here (I think) I decided to
do it.
Anyway here on this fat plump lil' post you can post info on you
and your art and what inspires you and such.
Heres and example of mine
Name: Blackhoof (you can put real name or not...I wouldn't put my real name)
Age: 14
Mainly draws: Guh...animals or crap
History: Guh, I don't know what
made me start to draw...maybe it runs in the family
which I think it dous. Anyway, what really inspired me to
keep drawing is disney movies like Bambi,
and other movies like All Dogs go to Heaven, ect.
I origianly drew dogs (still kinda do). I am now
more hooked on to drawing deer. Although
they don't seem to be entirely the most popular, or
for some the most intresting of animals. But
I've always had a place in my heart for these
split hoofed and graceful animals (even though
this place started off small and began to grow).
However, I still miss drawing other
animals. But sometimes it's hard
to quite something X P. Anyway, I always enjoy wielding the oh mighty
pencil in my terrible spelling hands.
(you can put other crap too)
You don't have to do it. I'm just doing it because
I'm curious and bored. Have fun writting about yourself and your art ...
:L
Wait... I've never seen you
Anywho...
Name: Reetno
Age: 22
Mainly draws: Animals, Anthros, used to draw nightmare things... and such...
History:
I'm not sure where my beginnings were, but I do remember spending alot of time on my grandparents boat just drawing and coloring in coloring books they bought me when I was very little... though I haven't grown much...
I used to draw many made-up creatures that still sit in an old binder of mine... I started into digital art in I think '98 with my first computer... it was nothing more then MSpaint and mouse back then, but it was a start.
I really got into digital art with my second computer, still with a mouse, but that changed in '05 I think with my fist and still only Wacom tablet (lurv).
Now I only drawn in Paint tool Sai, can't stand any other programs, for my digital and I'm trying to get back to good old pencil drawings again... yep...

This is a great idea! Name:
Name: Katie
Age: 19
Mainly draws: Well, I actually don't draw that much. When I do, it's pretty bad. xD But, I'm really into computer graphics. Back when I first started with art, I drew the lame little horses, wolves, etc. (xD). But since then I moved onto making avatars, deviantART stamps, t shirt designs, logos, collages, photography, etc. And I have started with vectoring, which I like doing.
History: Well, I think I started serious drawing back when the movie Spirit came out, and it really inspired me to start drawing horses. From there, I moved on to drawing wolves, then anthros (the typical stuff for a 13-16 year old xD). I got tired of that and kinda ditched it, and started making 100x100 avatars instead. Then I started taking art classes in my Junior year of high school, and I had the most amazing art teacher ever, so it was enjoyable. There I branched out and drew miscellaneous things, but mostly making avatars still (I've made hundreds, at least 8D). Then I decided I wanted to be a graphic designer, so that's what I'm studying now in college. I can still draw a pretty good horse, though. :B
And my deviantART page is here, if anyone is bored out of their mind and wants to check it out.
Name: Rowan Age: 16 Mainly
Age: 16
Mainly draws: Dragons, Deer, and Wolves.
History: I had a friend, in fourth grade, who I've recently met again, who could craw amazing pieces of art. Naturally I was jealous to some extent, and began to draw. I practiced by making up animals, and occasionally pokemon and whatnots. I've NEVER done computer art, and have just recently started up painting and charcoal. My friend has given up art, and now the student has surpassed the teacher. <3

Name: Lunora Age: 19 Mainly
Age: 19
Mainly Draws: Animals, cliffs, some trees. People and Back grounds are evil to draw. -_- Flowers, buildings, Furries (Anthros), Tribal Tattoo Designs, and Butterflies. Oh, and dragons... dragons are fun.
History: After I moved to the U.S. around the age of 8, I didn't have much to do but doodle. My mind became poisoned with Cartoons, and that's where it started. Then I learned how to draw anime and things went on from there. I took a Graphic Design class in high school and learned a little bit of the Adobe programs. However, I was raised in the country, and for some reason developed a habit of only drawning really good pictures, when i'm outside, or away from all of humanity (I'm not exactly a socialite (However you spell that). After a family incident, my favourite time to draw is when it is raining. I love to sit outside on the back porch and watch the rain. ^^
Surprisingly enough though, the type of artists that inspired me, were those who created art in the Medieval period.
Name: Stephanie (goes by
Age: 18
Mainly Draws: Nothing! I am a writer! (Hey, if you go by the definition of art as being 'the way one expresses oneself through creativity', then writers can be artists, too. We just use the human mind as our canvas and our paints are words. )
History: Ever since I was little girl I have loved making up characters and stories. Before I could learn to write, I use to draw (really bad) pictures and told a verbal story to go along with it. When I finally did learn to write, I began coming up with short stories. I have lost count of just how many short stories, or stories in general, I have written over the years of my life. All of come in many sizes; some as short as a few pages while others range up with novellas, maybe even a tad longer.
I mainly write them for fun with my first fully completed short story being at around 8, another when I was 10, then two more between the ages of 11 and 12. (None have been published; I never really tried. ) However, there have been multiple stories that I have begun but have yet to complete for various reasons, mainly due to my strict criticism of my own work.
I did help to get a school newspaper going along with two other friends of mine when we all joined a newly formed school. I have also been writing game reviews for personal sites and blogs for over five years as well as managed a few web sites myself over the past three years. (Though those sites normally shut down after awhile since I become too busy to focus on them which is ok since they're just a hobby.)
I mainly write in the following genres: fiction, horror, suspense, and action. It is never uncommon for me to include some sort of love interest but I do not focus much on romance. Some traits that you'll see within my writing include: Byronic heroes, naturally sounding dialogue, a lot of figurative language, name meanings being tied to a character's personality or role within the story, and fairly strong descriptions of characters and the environment around them. I won't lie, my stories do tend to start off nicely but then a sudden twist happens that often sends them down a dark road. In some of my stories, the character prevails over the obstacle before him/her; in others the obstacle wins.
I will rarely write some really crappy poetry in order to express some emotions I might have at the moment, or I'll write something that (as far as I know) has no name, but it is like a blank verse that combines with a short story. (I often have used this style to express Kumiko's deepest desires and inner thoughts.)

Age: 13
Mainly draws: Animals, trees, nature, forests, mushrooms, floating islands, things with dynamic lighting, scapes (plenty of dreamscapes ), surreal things, made-up creatures and characters, random stuff. I really like dreamy soft things...
History: I've been drawing since I could hold a pencil. xD Mostly natural talent. I did and am taking an art class, but I always found I had a great imagination and loved art...
Nature and all natural things have inspired me tons. Not to mention the Endless Forest. Hayao Miyazaki's movies also (<333).
My mom is pretty good at art... she denies it though. She's really good at drawing still life, but that's about it... x3 My dad's art is so shaky. His human faces are REALLY scary wrinkley things. But his animals are sometimes cute. They always have googley eyes. 8D
I don't really know what else to say... I'll stop then.

***Plumeria and Olive's bio***
Name: Tiia Age: 19 Mainly
Age: 19
Mainly draws:
Fantasy creatures and beasts, animals sometimes [mostly deer], dragons and such... and i've started drawing some scenerys too.
History: Been drawing as long as i can remember. I started with drawing horses and dinosaurs when i was a little [i was a huge fan of those two] and lately started drawing creatures from my own imagination.
In school i was a best drawer in my class but i'm very humble person and always got bothered when people gathered around me waching when i drew. And i still am.
I started drawing a little more seriously and attempting to improve my skills during the Junior High after my art teacher asked me that have i ever thought about doing this for a job. I really hadn't thought about that and had no answer for her but now i think it would be something i'd love doing.
I got stipendium and i was really proud to be good at something. I suck at school so i think you understand.
I haven't got much art teaching after the Junior High but i love practising and discovering things by myself and i think i'm improving fast. I'm fast at learning if it's something that really interests me.
Some time ago my parents showed some of my pictures for our neightbour who teaches art in the university and he said to them that there's really nothing that he or anyone could teach me anymore. He also showed my pictures for some book company and i might be getting a job as an illustrator. Nothing's certain but maybe this is a beginning of my career? I dunno.
I've been thinking that maybe this is what i'm meant to do for my life. At least i've been doing it since i was a toddler so nothing would change.
I also have this in my blood. My parents don't draw [my mom used to when she was younger but stopped] but for example my grandfather used to paint scenerys with watercolors.
Plus, there's also a lot of musical people in our family and i could say i'm very musical myself [my uncle has a band, two other uncles plays quitar too, My grandmother was a second violinist in an orchestra, my mother loves singing, my father plays a little quitar and keyboard, and my grandfather played harmonica]. I love playing my [old]keyboard [I WANT TO HAVE A PIANO] and i'm playing a lot by ear. Some time ago i self taught to read some notes too. I love playing nearly as much as i love drawing and i've been playing almost as long too.... but without getting any lessons [We're a poor family and don't have money to pay the lessons... or buy a real piano]. So i guess i'm naturally talented musically and artistically. -shrugs-
So that was my story. There's these two things i've been always doing and would never imagine doing anything else.
I don't want to even think about losing my hands... or my ability to hear or see! If that happened, i'd have nothing left. D:

Age: 17
Mainly draws: Deer, Anthro, Humans
History: It all started with the funny pokemon creatures. I used to ask my mom to draw them and let me color them XD At a certain moment, I tried drawing them myself and I surpassed my mother! Then it stopped for a while, until a friend of mine showed me drawings of Sonic-like characters. I started to make up my own and they grew out to become full anthro's. But I lost my friends, lost my inspiration and totally lost the fun of drawing.
I came back as a writer, but now and then I still draw sometimes. Mainly deer, but I recently started a human sketch again ^^

Mainly Draws: Right now--deer and spacescapes, when I draw at all.
History: I have been drawing for as long as I can remember. I drew on walls, paper, wood, everything! My parents were supportive of my talent, and they even paid the fees for my art classes. I had my work displayed in the hall quite often, and I even went on to take advanced art classes in high school I even became a member of the National Art Honors Society. However, when I talked to my parents about majoring in art in college, they scoffed at me, and told me to shoot for something else. In a nutshell, "Bills paid first, happiness later." So, when I graduated high school, I pretty much stopped drawing. For years, I focused on my studies, made terrific grades, played games; but in the meantime, my art skills went to crap. My mother even asked me to draw a portrait of my sister in the same skilled way I drew myself in high school (mind you, my art teacher lauded my skills at the time). However, when I tried to draw my sister, my mom laughed, saying that my skills had deteriorated. I knew that they had gone bad at the time, but what hurt the most is that my mother laughed at me. For a long time after that, I felt too unskilled to even try. Cue another two years of not drawing.
When I started drawing again almost a year ago, I felt pretty intimidated. Here I was in a community full of young, extremely talented artists, and I felt that my stuff could never measure up. The lack of comments on my art didn't help, either. I still kept at it, though, and I have been to this day. School and other responsibilities keep me from getting back into art and writing.

History: Apparently I've always liked to draw (or so my mother argues lol) but I never had someone tell me that I "could draw good' til I was in grade nine of high school. Since then, I've been an art-addict, taking all but one of the art classes my school offered (I'm applying to an art university this year as well ). I hope to get into a career as a concept artist for video games or movies, but first I just plan to enjoy art and absorb as much as I can out of university.
