Ah...Connection Problems

So I tried to open TEF yesterday, only to realize that wasn`t going to connect. The red button on the menu stayed red, and my deer just stayed a nameless. I tried closing out the game and reopening it a few times, to no avail.

I tried again today, thinking the connection would be better, but I haven`t gotten anything so far. I tried running as an admin, and uninstalling and reinstalling the game. What I have noticed is that on Network, where it says Network Status, the words constantly switch from Connecting to Error. 8C

So any ideas? I don`t know if there`s something wrong with my router, or perhaps TEF is just being a brat. |D

Sounds like you may need to reboot your router. I'd try that first since it seems like you an internet connection, but something might be blocking TEF.

Ah, thank you! Hmm...if I just unplug and replug the router, will the entire computer be rebooted? I play TEF on a laptop, which I assume responds to the router connected to my home computer. Ah my apologies, I`m not a tech wiz D8

Unplug your router, and even

Unplug your router, and even unplug the Ethernet cords as well. Wait about 30 seconds and plug them back in.

if that doesnt work, you may need to contact your internet provider, it might be an issue with the router as a whole. Smiling

All it will and SHOULD do, it cut the internet for a few minutes. That's all. We have to do it every week or so because our router is wonky and disconnects my husband from WoW randomly x.x; It fixes the issue for a few days at least xD

Turning your router off and

Turning your router off and on isn't going to hurt it. The issue might already be the router if you are losing internet connection. But many people reboot it, which refreshes the system.

Nah you're not annoying xD

Our internet provider suggested that to us when we were having issues. It might even be on their end.

Once in a freak while,

Once in a freak while, rebooting the router might screw up your settings, but again, it's very rare. In the big picture, resetting the router isn't going to hurt anything.

Out of curiosity, who's your provider, and what type of internet are you using? FiOS, Wi-Fi, etc?

Alright, we just basically turned the power stripe on and off again, and nothing seems to be happening. My parents don`t want to disconnect the router to reboot it.

And we use FIOS. Perhaps there`s a issue on their end?

Give Verizon a call and tell

Give Verizon a call and tell them you're having issues. They might make you reboot the router, but its better to call them and see if there's an issue they are working on ^^

If i have bigger problems

If i have bigger problems connecting i shut down my Pc and my Router for 30 sec .

Ah, we just did for about 30 seconds, and rebooted it. And TEF still doesn`t work. Eh, maybe the game is just being a brat. 8C I`m just worried because earlier in my time here, there was a period of a few months where I couldn`t connect.

Hmm. Maybe. It just started yesterday when I tried to login. I did switch my desktop wallpaper a few days ago but I highly doubt that has anything to do with it. I`ll check my firewall.

Hmm, strange. Looks like my firewall had it unchecked. Lemme see if it works now.

Hmm. Well, it looks like I have three ForestViewers, probably because I uninstalled it a few times. I`m not sure which one is my current one. Perhaps I should try checking all three?

I don`t know if that has anything to do with it, though. TEF just doesn`t seem to want to connect, bleh.

Have you cleaned up your other tef folders ( if there are some left ) ?
All must be cleaned ..so no other tef files must be left .

Checked them all, tried it, and it didn`t work. Unchecked two and let one run, and nupe. Tried restarting the computer and then uninstalling and reinstalling TEF again. Let Windows Firewall allow access to Private networks on the game. Still nothing. I`m just stuck as a nameless in an empty forest... I don`t really know 8C
