Ah, the Wonder of Rut.

Dear Samiel was just wandering through the forest today, taking in the sights. When he spotted a doe and a young stag. He approached to give them a bow of greeting, but was warded off by the young stag (on the far left). The doe intervened a few times, to which Samiel is eternally grateful. After all, Samiel is an old stag and isn't quite as spry as he used to be.


Indeed, my thanks to you young doe. As to the stag, I do not blame you for your actions, and hope to see you after the rut on a more friendly basis.

Yeah, I don't even know who that stag is. :/ He was kind of annoying. Sorry for that, there's no reason anyone should be competing for my company.

Every time someone says

That is a rather crude way to put it, but yes.

And it's alright Ephra. On my behalf it was a bit annoying, but Samiel walked away unscathed, and not much get to that old man. :3 I hope to see you in the forest again. ^^

I know ruts not here yet, but there are many actions/changes in display and personality that stags go through before the actual Rut even begins. -NodNod-

Old deers two cents on the rut, it starts in the fall when the nights get cool and longer, the male deer goes through a change and the velvet starts to be shed from his horns, he starts scrapping trees, tale grass and brush to remove the velvet for now it itches and makes him more irritable, he starts sparring with other male deer in game and establishing territory. Pending which region the rut comes later in the fall or winter, when the first frost comes and trigers more aggression in the male deer toward his fellow male deer, now the fights get more serious over the does.


Now I need to go find a rock to hide under!
