The image below this cut is creepy and contains gore. Teradeer is very much a zombie deer, if that doesn't sound like fun please; don't click read more.
It's gonna slip and hit the floor with the sound of a dropped fried egg in a second.
I judge the quality of gory art like this by its ability to nauseate me and I want you to know that you did a fantastic job with this. That leaking eyeball and fluid are textured so well that I want to go wash my hands. Seriously, good work.
It would be like when you're sick and sneeze way too hard into your hand without a tissue and then look and it's some weird rainbow of colors on your palm.
The eye looks a lot like dead fish at work do. After they've been in the tank for some time, they grow a white fuzz which is eerily translucent, almost like they're suspended in fluffy gelatin. The pink goo looks almost exactly like the liquid which comes out of thawed pinky mice.
Ammy: Aw yeah goal achieved, I know I've gotten a texture perfect when people say they want to touch it (especially when it reaaaally shouldn't be). In the event you did poke it however, I'm sure it would have a similar consistency to a bruised/foul grape. A tough outer skin with a squishy interior. Hypothetically you might get a thank you if you helped scoot it back into it's head. c8
AlisonRobin: Yessss! I use bile a lot for inspiration, yellows and greens when drawing Teradeer's organs because I find that evokes a more visceral response than blood.
Hum: YES, Teradeer eyes are supposed to have that 'corpse film' and be a sick sort of milky/glossy. Thrilled you picked up on it and connected it to a real experience. Pink goo you say now I'm wondering what effect making Teradeer different colours would have (barbie pink goo creature here I come haha)!
Bel and I have discussed the ways in which Teradeer would make Fiambre regret munching. c':
The texture looks as if it all were floured or something, yet still it looks greatly clean for a gory piece. Much, much better than these depictions where you can't see the subject throught bloody mess. Special.
Oh ew, liquified eye. I wonder what happened to 'em for it to get out like that? Yea, actually makes me feel a tiny lil' bit... not 100% perfect I'd say. They may be dead and thus not as tough but the thought that an eye slips out XD
Mjrn: If it's any consolation this doesn't hurt Teradeer in the slightest, I don't think it can even feel pain. It just shares my enjoyment for creeping people out. We're both glad you enjoyed! xD
Pelicann: You might want to see a specialist about that...tho I'm tempted to blame my egg reference. XD
J!n: Thank you! That's something I enjoy with my art and it's always gratifying to know other people enjoy it as well.
Jennie: Yes! Exactly! I find blood doesn't have the same impact in stylized art where I find it reads as just 'that red stuff'. That doesn't mean it isn't appealing to me, I love to see it used well in art I just prefer to experiment with other gore when I draw my zombie.
In terms of how the eye got like that, Teradeer has almost complete control over itself so chances are pretty good it's doing it intentionally! Even if it was an injury, the eye would just slither back into place...or fall out entirely if Teradeer intended to make whoever it was feel horrible about themselves.
Ou yee, when it's in a good fun then I lov to scare people.
I see. But how will they get the eye back there then, if it falls out? Or they won't? Just being curious.
My OOC can also be a zombie deer if I let her wear the spells, she's only totally dried out in comparison with yours so there aren't many possiblities. |D
Jennie: Depends on how dramatic they feel like being but the eye could in theory slither up its leg and back into the socket. All the sections of Teradeer are universally sentient and it can manipulate them as it wishes. It could also face-plant and hope the eyeball ends up in the right place if it was feeling more comical.
Yeah Teradeer is a zombie by very loose definition, the biggest difference being it's ability to decompose/recompose at will (and sometimes reflexively when scared). It's likely way more 'moist' than a corpse of its age has any right being haha :'D
Oh, wow! This is awesome, never seen a TEF zombie like this. The effect of the eye is so gross, in a good way!
Looking at the actual eye ball part makes me think of something sweet (surprisingly), like a melty marshmallow candy. Is that strange? Heehee. (:

Yummy! Seriously though,
Seriously though, you do gore very well. I was sufficiently nauseated and disturbed.
Mottlefur: Yep definitely
Redkora: Nauseated is what I was going for so that's great to hear, glad you like it!
