The time had flown since that fight. It was hard to believe that close to two weeks had already passed.
Kita stayed close to Seshi as much as she possibly could, monitored how his condition had been. Since that fight with the nameless worry had plagued her mind, constantly thinking back to how Furfur had told her of his death the first time. It had been due to the fact that Seshi had been diseased, he was killed the first time.
The blood of the nameless had been passed into Seshi, that would mean that the disease had been also. Kita trembled and tilted her head to look back toward her side at the smiling mask that lay on the ground tied again around her neck.
She looked up from where she lay among the flowers, toward her stag as he played with his fawn. She smiled weakly, studying his movements. A sigh escaped from her lips, head lowering a tiny bit as she watched.
His movements were slow, he had to take long breaks between games. She could tell that he was running low on energy, she prayed that it was just the season. Spring was a lazy time for stags, when they could regrow their antlers and such, maybe that was why.
She lifted her head slowly as he nuzzled Finata and turned to walk back to her. She smiled weakly
"Hey, how are you feeling?" she asked softly as he turned around, laying himself down beside her body.
"Tired, a little achy" he admitted as he watched his son tackle into the side of the large gray doe who stood with the fawn slung over her back and began to hop around with him.
Kita frowned worried, looking over toward him
"Rest for a while then" she squirmed her way closer to his side, pressing against his warmth.
"I am worried about you" she lowered her head so it rested over his folded knees.
Her eyes looked up toward him, searching for any sign of bruises or scars that had once littered the face of her Furfur. She closed her eyes, she couldn't see them much if at all. It probably was just the season that had been causing him to be fatigued.
Fear slipped through her, she didn't want to think about what might happen if it truly was the disease. If Seshi died, would Furfur return or would he cease to exist all together and she would be alone?
She lifted her head till she felt his jaw bone against her head, nuzzling her head under his with the unwanted thought that one day soon there was the possiblity she might not be able to feel the warmth of his fur against hers. There was only a trace of disease on his fur, it had lasted on his fur since the fight. But he was a stag, they didn't bathe often.
She shivered slightly, worry flickered deeply within her chest, a sadness at any thought of loosing him. She closed her eyes as she kept her head pressed to his lower jaw.
She wouldn't leave him alone again. If he did...die, if it was because of the disease, she would be with him right up to his last breath. She prayed thought it was only the season, he didn't have an antlers, maybe that was just taking his energy to regrow them...
