Yeah mine too, 56k modem speed hates on it, and especially if I have other things going on at the same time (other Firefox tabs) it makes it go very slowly.

*agrees agrees* though I'm guilty of posting screenie dumps there myself. But I usually only load a single (and always resized) picture that displays and then use the < ! - - b r e a k - - > add in to be sure that it doesn't chew up anyone elses computers. Loading the pictures page has been a risky thing as of late because of all the non-resized piles of wonder that keep being shared.

I do love to see people's screenshots, just not quite so huge and certainly not en-masse unless I choose to brave it of my own free will... ._______.'

Yea, they do take time, but I like it better than cropping in PhotoShop and either overwriting the pic I have or renaming it and having an extra copy. |D

I like to post screenshots on occasion, and I don't see anything wrong with that (although I realize how it could be frustrating for some people). I do think it's nice when people who post a lot of them at once put only the first one on the front page and the rest under the "read more" link. I would love to do this too, but I don't know how. Can anyone give me instructions on how to do this?

I kinda understand where you are coming from and it also kinda annoys me if I'm honest. There is a screen shots section for a reason, if you don't want to see them don't click on it, that is why there are sections.

I crop the majority of my images as well, they are not huge and they do not in most 99% of cases stretch the page so i am well within my rights to post long lines of screen shots when I want to, and links to rage journals because people are still on 56k connections make me want to do it even more, because for some reason you feel your inadequate internet connection gives you an excuse to tell people what to do.

If you had left a polite comment rather than a link to a rage people might be more inclined to listen.

However as I'm unwilling to make this into a big internet drama lama I will try and remember to use the break tags from now on so you don't have to wait for images you feel are not worth your obviously precious time.

The sections are really handy if you want to not-look at screeny's indeed. Unfortunately, not everyone always notices they're there! Which means that sometimes art or other stuff get's the wrong section, so it's not much of a help That, and we're all curious humans who would like to look at all things posted.
But, darling Kovah, I do -not- see a rage of people here. Not ANYONE is being angry at people who do the screeny dumps, they're JUST bringing it to attention. Raz even put a PLEASE in her question. Who else still does that nowadays? Personally, I think you're overreacting a bit And everyone should always consider eachother, because those are the ones you want to be looking at your screeny's, right? Maybe a diary in which you post them is a good idea Makes everything tidy.

So please don't accuse people of flaming you (Or how you'd call it XD) When they ain't. And Raz'd be repeating herself if she'd most much more as the link. Right?

The journal came across to me as hostile and preachy, hence my response. A simple "Would you mind putting break tags in please?" would have elicited a much better response from me than a link to this journal.

I may have over reacted a little, i was sleepy and grumpy when i replied but as I said the journal did not come across to me as a polite way to ask someone to do something. I took it badly as far as I was concerned posting screen shots, in the screen shot section that have already been cropped down was not something I thought was wrong.

I've said what I thought about the journal above and what would have helped instead of merely posting a link, I was a little rude and rather sarcastic but your journal came across as very preachy to me not polite on your part even though you put a few pleases in there.

Next time I wont be so rude if you don't post a link to a journal like this to tell me something.

I will agree to have a slightly differing opinion on this to you - and apologise for over reacting a little, but please understand that i am used to having a fast internet connection and its never even crossed my mind that people are still on 56k. i mean, i'm not mad at you, it's just that...people could have worked hard to edit the pictures, make a couple of designs and so-so, and then you would have just posted the link, saying we should not do that, or, i should say, -ask- if we can stop, doing that, it could hurt or annoy the posting person . In my opinion, is to at least say something positive about the picture first, before you post the link.


I also do agree with YOU, it does sort of lag my computer, when I have bad internet days, so I DO approve of this post.
All i'm saying is to be a little more kind when commenting on someone's post to say that there is something wrong, or something the problem with it.
