IGNORE ME

Learning Status:
BBCode: Excellent. Easy stuff.
HTML: Pretty Good.
CSS: Good at some things, decent at others
Javacript: Okay at some things, terrible at others.

Take any code from any of my pages any time you want and make it yours. But you should learn how to do it yourself in the process! Smiling

Currently not doing much here, working on a css page for my partner's character Vaq in another thread.

Its hard to explain the lengths we go for a game where we pretend to be deer with a people face. No one in my life understands it either.

True dat. I've occasionally

True dat.

I've occasionally had people ask about the game, how it's possible to be so entertained by it for long periods that I can be doing like like cycling through pictograms to write down what all the glyphs are and stuff. I generally have to reply, "There's a lot more to do and work at than you'd think."

And they ask "Like what?"

And I invariably try to hide this sort of obsessive stuff I do and I can only respond, "Oh you know. Deer stuff."

They must never know.

This is my entire code notepad, I've put it on pastebin for you. It's unorganized, messy, and may be useless to you, but you're welcome to it.

I'm only sorry that you're trapped tracking this for eternity like Toya.

Heartstrings, is it alright

Heartstrings, is it alright if I save that pastebin as well? Have the feeling I might be needing it soon.

Also, in spirit of the previous discussion, I generally try to keep this place a secret from others, both online and offline, simply because I feel like there's no one out there that really understands the charm of the "game," really. My sister and her fiance used to see me playing it all the time at their house, and now they have a tendency to pick on me for it. I don't bother to try and explain any of it to them for that reason, and for numerous other reasons that I won't elaborate on because then my secret of being an arrogant prick will be revealed shhhh

My sister at one point did ask me about the possibility of her getting an account and giving the game a try, but that hasn't happened, and I'm hoping it never will. I'd have to go to great lengths to avoid running into her if she discovered the Comm site. I'd actually have to leave the Comm site if she found me haha...

Yes, this community site is

Yes, this community site is my closely guarded secret as well. My partner read my character's biography and reacted pretty much as I expected and told me, "I love you but this is a huuuge mary-sue."

And I said "Ugh, I know. Please don't tell anyone. I enjoy this self-indulgence."

I do fear the judgement of my other loved ones. My partner, I'm fine with that. He even made a character too. But if the rest of my role playing buddies found this I do not know what I would do.

Yep. I also try not to ever

Yep. I also try not to ever talk about it, and when I do, Im fairly vague and avoid questions, managing to sortof change the subject. Its... I mean... Its good to know Im not the only one who cant explain it. But god, im in love with this forest and this community. I guess I feel its an escape, and maybe people like us are escapists. So be it. <3

It's so weird that I took linguistics classes and have all this wack training in learning the structure language by taking it apart with deductive reasoning after some villager in some remote part of the world starts talking to me (Hell I did it with Aramaic, I figured out those transitive verbs before the professor did) but I'm using this training for a website about pretending to be a deer with a people face.

It's worth it shhhhhhh

Check out this GLitch that happened to me...

According to the GPS I was crossing over a seam in the map in that area. So when I saw it I circled back, and sure enough, if I ran circles around that tree, I could see deer appear and dissappear, it wasnt always the same deer, sometimes they overlapped, sometimes they were in a new position, but it was only there for a split second each time, like when someone tries to send a subliminal message. all creepy flickers...

How do you change the color of the date of the comment? ;__;

span.submitted{color:#000000;}

I had to ask Unplugged how to do that at one point, otherwise I wouldn't have known the trick. But from that I found out some other stuff. That will change the color of every submitted thing including the blog itself submitted info, but I also use

.node .submitted{display:none}

to specifically hide the blog submitted info itself and only keep the stuff in the comments.

Thank you so much ♥ x

You guys have no idea how

You guys have no idea how many disappointing updates you're going to get in your tracking section, just saying. I use this space to prep posts I make in new threads so you might get some sneak peeks but whatevers.

Anyway the verdict for the onload event is that I can't get it to work in tags. Ideally I'd be able to put it in the body tag but I can't edit that directly since it's impossible to get at. I was hoping that onload could take the place of a lot of CSS but I dunno.

W3 says it's usually used in body tags and their example is a pop up message. That might be why onload won't work here. OR I might be screwing everything up. Stay tuned I guess.

EDIT: Disregard that kids, onload works fine if you make a NEW body tag in your post and use the onload event there. Learned that from GMSuerte who is a totally cool guy or gal who knows the shit out of javascript.
