I like to play with color and character design and such things. On my computer I usually just doodle and my more serious arts are with inks, but recently I've been digging up old color palettes I made specifically for digital art and I've been turning them into doodle designs when inspiration strikes me. I've got waaay more color palettes from my colourlovers days that I'll hopefully do more doodles with. I'm not going to make any of these characters for me since I've already got La and don't need any more work. I hide my other art here.
Most of these ideas are up for adoption, I only ask that you do stuff with them. I like seeing things done with my ideas and if you take them and don't use them it bums me out a little. So I might be hesitant to give them out if I've never seen you around before. I'm reasonable though, and if you ask but I'm not certain I will hold them for you and wait until you become a more regular member. You can change stuff about my ideas and of course they can evolve just like real people over time.
Mouse over a palette to learn about the idea. If you want it, ask! (And if you ask and don't bother to take them after asking I'll just assume that you changed your mind, no biggie).

Should have mentioned on this one that Freedom of Movement as a name comes from a DnD spell.

If I got to add a set to the game, it would be this in order to explain that duck quack that I hate so much. It combines the macho of mallard ducks with the macho of roman soldiers. Hopefully. [MOUSE OVER]

Not about angst so much as about the grace to handle sadness. Has no original palette but I left little color blobs on the image. I feel bad about using red and black together. [MOUSE OVER]

FairyClock and I discussed in the comments the texture of this character's growths. I imagine them as semi-firm and spongy with a velvety texture that isn't quite soft.

Not really up for adoption, but I think that around rut time I may shove this character(s) awkwardly into as many open roleplays as I can.

Didn't realize until too late I should have cracked a "party animal" joke on the image. Oh well. Named the file that. This is one of my favorites so far. Tokata said they wanted this one, but that player has vanished so it's up for grabs still.

I had an idea after I finished drawing this character that if he/she were in Jurassic Park, that scene where they hear the T. rex coming from far away would be way anticlimactic.

I also noted in the comments and should have added here that after I finished the picture I realized that his mask bears slightly more than a passing resemblance to Onomatopoeia from Batman, though I wasn't thinking about Onomatopoeia when I was drawing Conlang. Still, I think there may have been something subconscious since they both have to do with words and I feel better noting it here the way I've noted other inspirations on images.

Conlang is absolutely gorgeous. That doodle is something special. I would use that art on a bio. I think many of your deer here could be used as bio art in fact! Theres just something about Conlang though that speaks, though I dont understand a word of it, its lovely. well done.

Pfffft. Im so in love with Conlang Im back to stare at him. I dont know what I would -=do=- with him though, other than revel in the irony of his character and the inventive ways people find to communicate in game, not to mention our pictographs and the meanings we all derive from them!! Which is to say... would you be horribly offended if I attempted to claim him, but fell through on making him an entirely active character? I just... I really love him and his concept and his color scheme and everything about him. Its entirely possible all I would do with him is haunt La with babble.
You're more than welcome to take him and make whatever you want of him even if he's not to be an active character. No matter what you do with him it will be more than what I do with him.
He strikes me as more of an NPC type anyway... a recurring character to haunt main characters with his unintelligible charisma. Like if TEF was a TV show he would just occasionally walk by in the background and draw something weird on the wall and leave, or approach and say something cryptic and then run off and everyone would be a little confused.

@Jacklo He's a handsome, handsome fellow there. I really adore the blue highlights on the hooves and the shoulder feathers. You did so much better with this design than I would have, I love it. He's your babby now more than mine. I'm really glad that you were inspired by the thing I made that was inspired by a bird.

@Hoactzin the art here is up for grabs since you adopted him. I'll check my other computer and see if I saved a transparent version of him for later. I also think that the other pictures you have done of him are so adorable. I also just noticed that you train pinnipeds (awesome) and looked back at my first doodle and I think with his legs folded he looks a little bit like a seal with a face and ears. Coincidence?

In general I like the ideas of pelts that react and change with the environment--it would be impractical to implement them in the game but purely for the sake of argument and art I don't see why the magic of the forest couldn't give a deer an "animated" pelt to help them react to their surroundings. In the case of Whispers I think it would make him look interesting in motion--every step accompanied by a little sound spike, and whenever he speaks the sounds would flow along the lines. If I could animate better than stick figures in a flip book I would give it a try to see how it looked.
Ahhh, I;ve attempted to code animated pelts in feral heart before. Didn't go well, but successful players can make lava and neon and rainbow pelts that actually move I'm pretty sure if I was able to code for this game I would make a mod that could do that *o*

I have been keeping eyes out for Poe and Hamartia already (even though I think La would probably be timid around the latter just on instinct) but due to it being the last week of the quarter for me my forest time has been limited to finding a sunny place to sleep.

And speaking of that, that is what is taking up most of my time as well. I haven't really had the chance to get Hamartia in the forest seeing as how my time is always stopped short by work. But tomorrow I have the day off, so we might stumble upon each other! I'll likely be on Poe for the most part though to enjoy my one day off, but Hami will make an appearance! I assume most would be weary/fearful of her at first glance, so she had better get use to it. I do need some more interactions for each though, so La is welcome anytime to come by! :3
