"I...l-...it can't turn out like the others. This is different..."

Spent the beginning of her day alone by valley view in quiet, wondering if she should perhaps seek out Herla & Gehirn and spend some time with them; felt a little bit guilty for not being as active with other company, but hopes they would understand. For the first time in a long time, the doe was looking out for herself. Looking after herself, and following her heartstrings once more...And of course, found her way into Iaurdagnire's company. Sat in company of Dag and a few other Fawns and another stag called Dampir who ended up leaving giving the pair some privacy, deep down, Ravenflight again felt a little niggle of guilt for driving his company away, but was swept up soon enough in Iaurdagnires embrace and moment.

Dag led her to Dandelion hill where the pair played kiss-chase games; nuzzling him and quickly running off and hiding with Dag doing the same. Her eyes traced every move he made, noting his strides, struts and features. Ravenflights eyes lingered on his scar for a brief moment; it was hard to imagine that a creature built for war, battle and sheer strength could act in such a way. The doe was soon enough reminded of a time when she threw herself into battle with a pelt littered with scars and feathers torn from her head with her own determination. They were both misunderstood, the same, and deep down they could both see past seemingly steely exteriors. She had let the walls fall down for him and suddenly found herself perhaps a little more game and playful, and took the chance to strut around him in a tease. "Goodness, girl. Control yourself!" her inner voice dared yell a few moments after but it did not really have any bearing on her.

She was smitten, taken, his.
Craves his company when he is not around, craves it when he is.

Deep fears of giving what they had a name lingered in her head all but for a moment; all the past lovers seemed to run away once she had placed them in her heart.

And then she allowed herself to be swallowed whole once more, clinging to him gently as they slept.

Personality

Ravenflight is no stranger to experience, having lived for eight years. During her lifetime, the doe has experienced first-hand loss, pain, war and the inability to control ones future. Ravenflight was once aligned with an ancient species known as an Auraa’n; A species responsible for the guardianship over certain species. After countless fights, death and rebirth, the doe was granted pardon from her path and re-incarnated as a regular deer, stripped of all her powers; As she had wanted.

On Ravenflight’s sturdy legs stand an incredibly determined and empowered personality. Ravenflight hardly accepts failure and at the very core of her being, believes that only you can shape your own future and destiny. Ravenflight does not believe in the ability to lose control and her inner strength allows her to often get a grasp on her own or others situations and try to improve them, making her an excellent leader. Ravenflight exhibits a strong sense of empathy and tenderness, and in many cases has been the shoulder to lean on or cry on. Ravenflight is an incredibly devoted character and very loyal. Once you have a friend within Ravenflight, it is often very difficult to fully lose her. Her loyalty can often have a downside to it as not everyone is equally as loyal or constant, and when Ravenflight finds herself drifting from another she has a very difficult time being able to fully let go.
Most of the time, one can find Ravenflight sitting in quiet contemplation or wandering. She exhibits incredible amounts of stoicism and not a lot can budge her or bother, but we all have weaknesses. Ravenflight is often happier to sit down in the calm with another, but certainly does not avoid playful behaviours, and has been known to race about, jump, dance and play games; These are the moments between the lines of her story. A lesser known fact is her passionate nature, which shows itself in various forms. Ravenflight is a passionate lover and a passionate fighter.

Not a lot can bother the doe, but when a friend, a freedom or her own life is in danger, her inner strength marries her own physical strength and she becomes a fearsome fighter. Once Ravenflight has a target; it is hard to lose said target. The doe has sacrificed herself multiple times for her own cause or another’s, and is the reason why her blue pelt was once littered with scars. Emotionally, Ravenflight is similar; she rarely opens up to some and lets a lot of things go. But when something does bother her, rather than talk about it or react instantly she will often avoid others and process it in her own time, in this way she is rather insular.

Origin

Ravenflights origins were once strong, but now lay as old fragments of a past life that was never desired. Ravenflight, once a breed called Auraa’n, had two spiritual, god-like parents called Aton and Neyrah. Ravenflight also had a brother called Feathercrest who was possessed by a jealous demon, essentially killing the brother inside.

She does not speak of her past family anymore. Ravenflight has adopted a mindset that the relationships she forges and the ones that are there for her are the ones that matter; they are true family.

Gehirn (Beloved) Gehirn has been an enduring force throughout Ravenflight's life. The pair have stood by each other through crisis and drama. In their younger days they would flirt and play, and were even frowned upon by naysayers, to the extent they were attacked. Gehirn was there for Ravenflight, and Ravenflight was there for Gehirn. Whilst Ravenflight had feelings for Gehirn at one stage, she chose to hold them back, as he had a mate at the time. Was definitely for the best though she felt; as the pair were both incredibly headstrong and would have likely destroyed the fantastic friendship they now hold. The pair have endured much heartache between themselves, both watching lovers come and go and each be betrayed. Their friendship endures. Gehirn is Ravenflights pillar. A fortress, an obelisk. Strength. Family.
Her best friend.

† Poltergeist (Best Friend) Poltergeist is a major figure within Ravenflight's life. The two came to meet each other on 'negative' terms, but as time passed they grew a lot closer than they thought they would. Both Ravenflight and Poltergeist stood as they watched their loves demise and pass before them and grew a whole lot closer. Ravenflight was often a source of support for Poltergeist, and in turn, she would offer her glowing comfort and embrace. When Ravenflight was cast back to fawn-hood, Poltergeist took her under her wing and became a 'mother' to Ravenflight for a brief time. Ravenflight would not have any memory of Poltergeist until later. Poltergeists death severely impacted Ravenflight, but at the same time, she was happy for Poltergeist, for returning to Wudiin at long last. At night, the Doe is often seen by the pond, when the stars reflections are the closest, uttering a prayer and a greeting to the starry mother and friend.

† Wudiin (Close Friend) Wudiin was one of Ravenflight's first loves, although he would not return the affections, the pair remained good friends, often playing forest and chase games in their younger days. Ravenflight would often specifically seek out Wudiin for comfort and help, even if he didn't speak much, the words unsaid and his very presence seemed to make the negativity wane from her life. Wudiin is an important figurehead in Ravenflight's life as through him, Ravenflight would meet Poltergeist and her now ex mate Rajan. At times she is still saddened by his death, but has past her mourning stage and simply smiles. He left a legacy, and shone some light into her life. She was happy to have known him.

Otis (Charge) Ravenflight has watched Otis grow from a newborn fawn to the young hart he is today. Ravenflight connects well with the placid and sweet nature of the child, and finds it very easy to hang around with him. Being an excellent gestural reader, Ravenflight has little difficulty understanding what the lunar mute says. Has not seen the child for some time now, and often wonders and worries where he has gone to.

Sterre (Charge) Ravenflight has watched Sterre grow from a newborn to the beautiful young woman she is today. She is incredibly proud of her and how she has developed into a kind, empathic doe; just like her mother was. Seeing Sterre grow to the age she is makes her realise just how old she is (Its a good thing!) and is relieved to see that she has found a loving family and mate to care for her, as she often worried that because of her lack of blood-family today, she may have turned out differently. Ravenflight will always be there for the starry-doe.

† Virgil "The Red" (Friend) And in the days long before they met, the two were simply aware. Passing glances, fleeting little moments. Ravenflight remembers that instinctual red stag. At times they would often meet and play, or simply sit on Red Hill, soaking in the essence of the forest. At times they would go by the poppy patch, and Virgil would mutter some words about a friend, but she never fully understood. The pair seemed to grow distant for some time, and would only seem to find each other on grim occasions. Ravenflight explored the Scottish Highlands one day, and lost one of her feathers in the process which helped the Red find his way back. They fought side by side at Dandelion hill and is saddened that he has now left without saying a proper goodbye. When word reached that The Red had come back to the forest to die, was upset that she was not there to be with him. Wanted so much to speak with him. Somehow she knew that he knew she would be alright. Will not forget.

Iaurdagnie (Close Friend) A relationship that came to define the does reason for living in a darker point of her life that started purely from threads of words and an empathy towards one another. Outside the deeper surface of their relationship is a kindly friendship; and they have spent many quiet times together as well as play through the forest. Both Ravenflight and Dag would seem to have a deeper understanding of each other than they both realise or mention; two histories seemingly bound by a destiny that both wanted freedom from. If it were not for Iaurdagnire, Ravenflight would not have been freed from her destiny, and although the doe does not know it, her presence had triggered something in Dag that had saved him from a moment of weakness in his own trials. Iaurdagnires absence became became the one thing the doe would devote herself to, as she felt lost from her purpose. Now that Iaurdagnire has returned, Ravenflight feels a new sense of purpose, and wonders if he is having trouble adjusting as much as she did. Just like their past lives, Ravenflight enjoys being close to the stag in quiet affections as well as playful romping.

Herla (The Feathered Sister) Ravenflights relationship with Herla began a lot like her relationship with Poltergeist; Jealousy. It seems that such relationships always turn around. Initially felt jealousy towards the beautiful doe because of her blossoming connection to her best friend; perhaps a little bit protective. Whatever negative pretenses there were, they were quick to fall to the wayside. Ravenflight deeply admires the little does motherly nature and the kindness shown towards Ravenflight has long since remained in her heart. Ravenflight finds Herla a doe she can confide much in, and has revealed some elements of her past to her. Was incredibly humbled when Herla extended her family and love towards Ravenflight; who seemingly had nothing left. In turn, Ravenflight had been there for the doe on a few teary occasions. Although Herla may not know it, Ravenflight has sworn her protection to the family, and would do her best to protect them, although she always had. One situation being her battle against Akuji; the child-killer; in order to protect Herla and her two unborn fawns as well as several assaults from Sianna in their younger days.

Ephire (Good Friend) There is mostly a silence amongst both, but deep down they both seem to share a connection, even though not a lot is shared. They are both watchers, observers that feel the world turn around them. Deep in her biology, her Corvidae essence seems to be akin to his own. Both have spent many quiet times together, and both protecting each other in turn. Both Ephire and Ravenflight united together at the battles for Dandelion hill; they both seemed incredibly invested in it, especially Ephire. The doe has a small hunch at the events of the past, and how Ephire may have been involved in Dags first passing, but seems to have a broader understanding of it; and feels it was likely a necessary step. Ravenflight deeply admires the Raven-stags resolute strength, and will always look kindly to him and confide.

Rajan (Unsure) After sharing almost four years of a life with someone, its hard to let them go. Ravenflight was once incredibly close to this stag, and madly in love. They met in their younger days and were inseparable and passionate. Ravenflight often called Rajan her tiger as he had come from a distant land that was occupied by these striped cats. Whilst the pair shared so much together, Rajan began to become distant, often wandering far from Ravenflight. Word had reached her ears once that Rajan had killed himself, so the doe did the same, although they both found their way back. However, he would eventually leave again and Ravenflight would often be left wondering where he had gone and when he would return, though a loyal creature, she chose to wait. This waiting caused her heartache and the doe was never able to have children to the stag. This, among other things caused her large amounts of distress and in the end, Ravenflight put an end to it and chose to move on.

Cry (Acquaintance) Ravenflight has met the small angel in the past with fleeting glances, although she often wonders if he actually remembers...perhaps not. As of recent, the little angel has become a new face in her life again. She is incredibly thankful of his healing energies and selflessness in saving Iaurdagnire. Ravenflight thinks very highly of the small one and enjoys sitting beside him in quiet conversation. Sitting with him seems to have a positive affect on her; warming her almost with a cleansing energy or light.

Melusine (Acquaintance) Ravenflight has a vague memory of this doe speaking to her, rather, fretting about her. However, in more recent times, Ravenflight has sighted this doe within the company of Dag. She enjoys Melusines company and finds her incredibly sweet natured. Has a bit of a fear of her attraction to the ponds waters after Ravenflights own ordeals. Hopes to meet the purple doe again and get to know her better. Iendoe (Acquaintance) Ravenflight has had a few encounters with the small doe, mostly in the company of Poltergeist or Wudiin. She admires her gentle nature, but secretly frets over her. The last time the pair saw each other, Ravenflight had just leapt into the pond to drown. What a strain that could have on a relationship?

History

Although memories of Ravenflight’s youth are very fleeting, the doe knows she was born within the forest. Ravenflight was never raised by her spirit-parents and was instead entrusted to her older brother Feathercrest with some help from his friends. Ravenflight was incredibly close with Feathercrest until the day came for her to meet Aton and Ney’rah. Both were great spirits/gods over the Auraa’n Race; an ancient breed that stood in place to protect every order of living thing. There were guardian spirits for everything from plants to bears. Ravenflight was given the honour of protecting the Family corvidae, and was given powers and abilities that would present themselves in her older years. However, Feathercrest grew incredibly jealous of this and let it consume him. He believed, as the eldest child, the gift should be his by right. One day he wandered the forest and stumbled across an evil spirit who saw the jealousy and hate in his heart and let the spirit enter him. Feathercrest died on the spot that day, the spirit stealing his memories and knowledge of the Auraa’n, morphing into a power hungry force that would seek to control all and take Ravenflights powers. The Evil spirit chose to do away with the family name Feathercrest and called himself ‘The Raven King’. He went into hiding for some time, waiting for Ravenflight to grow old enough and her powers become present.

However, this would take some time, as the doe led her own troubled life. She had not seen Feathercrest for a very long time, not since the day of her blessing, and became worried. The doe struggled in her youthful years, plagued with a yearning heart but an inability to find a stable partner. She developed crushes on many deer who would choose another over her. One particular love was a stag called Wudiin, who chose a beautiful starry doe called Poltergeist, who ended up becoming one of Ravenflight’s best friends. However, Wudiin passed away one day, leaving Poltergeist, Ravenflight and his two unborn children. It is at this point, were the doe met one of her most influential lovers; Rajan.

The doe fell head over heels for the stag, and it was certain that he loved her too. They became mates, and the doe felt as if she had found some sense of stability. However, Rajan would suddenly disappear for months at a time, and word had reached the doe that he had jumped into the pond, killing himself. The doe was broken-hearted. She had lost her friend Wudiin into the pond also. The doe threw herself into the pond as well and died at the bottom that day. It was there, Ravenflight was pulled into the spirit world. Aton saw her troubled mind and dared to cover it so that she would not be confronted with such powerful memories, in case she died again. Aton attached two small gems to her antlers which blocked her memory. She was brought back into the forest as a Raven for three days before turning into a fawn again. As it happened, her best friend Poltergeist took Ravenflight under her care until the doe grew into an adult once more.

The doe had no memories of her past life, although at times small flashes would come back to her occasionally. One day the doe would wander the forest, frustrated with her inability to recollect, when she stumbled across one of her oldest friends; Draak. The stag confronted her, wondering why she could not remember him. She grew distressed from a conversation by the forest rocks and fell, Draak jumping after her. His hoof landed on one of the tears, smashing it to pieces. A flood of memories came back to her, and she realised who had saved her. The pair grew very close and for a short while, shared a relationship. It is in this time, that Poltergeist was close to giving birth to her children. The midnight doe did not survive this feat however, and passed away. Ravenflight chased poltergeists spirit as it slowly left, and witnessed Wudiin’s spirit arrive to take her to the stars. The went into a very dark place. Whilst she had feelings for Draak, she remembered Rajan. She felt she had conflicted loyalties with the two lovers. On a rainy evening, The doe wandered the forest and was once again taken into a shadowy realm where Aton, her father, awoke the guardian powers within her. Aton made it known to Ravenflight what had happened to Feathercrest, that he had died and his body became a vessel. Ravenflight morphed into her Guardian form to confront her brother and stop his threat, but instead was taken by surprise with help from his sidekick/puppet, Gevaar.

The pair battled furiously, however, The Raven King was stronger and dealt an awful blow across her neck, killing her. This created an unstable fracture between worlds, where Ravenflights body floated from the shadowy place in forest. Many deer came to her when they saw her, trying to speak memories to her to coax her mind and soul fully from the other-place, but in the end it was not enough. The doe was taken from the forest and roamed other-worlds as the wind for 462 days, until she finally stumbled across a realm near the coast-line. By mere chance, the doe happened to stumble across a family of deer she thought she had forgotten; Rowan, Darcy and Rajan. Ravenflight was unsure on how Rajan arrived in this place, but the doe was overjoyed. Together, the family travelled towards rumours of a new land called Arokai. However, along the way the doe felt a strong yearning to return back to the forest. Although Ravenflight was with close friends and loved ones, none could silence her strong guardian mind.

There were tales of the strength of a guardians mind, that if he projected his wishes long enough, he would be taken to where he desired. This proved to be true and as the doe began to wander away from the group, a powerful torrent of water washed over the forest and took the young doe away from the outside world, back into the forest. However, it did not go exactly to plan. Her mind needed to meld with something physical in the forest in order to fully return, and the only physical thing remaining in the forest were her old, rotting bones at the bottom of the forest pond, the day she had killed herself. The doe was stuck inside her old corpse and was unable to move outside the pond; the doe was essentially “undead.” She was threatened by the eater of the dead and rotting, neath. The prey essentially confused him as she was dead and rotting, but was very much alive. The doe began to lose her mind in the dank watery realm, however, she was still visible to others above the surface. One partifular stag, Gehirn, noticed the does corpse more than most and one afternoon, the stag wandered down into the pond and realised it was her, calling out to him. Gehirn jumped into the pond and pulled Ravenflight out. As the doe resurfaced, her true skin and form was revealed and she became living again, thanks to her pillar.

Ravenflight had forgotten Draak by this point, and was certain their relationship was over. However, the doe began to wonder about Rajan. Would he come back for her? Did Ravenflight abaondon Rajan? The became conflicted and incredibly angry. However, the doe kept her anger to herself, slowly, but surely, the does heart became stone. She had been pulled and pushed through worlds against her wishes, her only family member wanted to kill her and the doe was seven years old, without a mate or a family. Ravenflight began to become distant, only choosing to interact with certain deer. For a brief few months, Ravenflight sighted her mate, Rajan. He had apparently found a way back also. But then, again without notice, he vanished again; her love form him began to wane. Ravenflight became troubled by this as she did not want to let him go. In her frustration over this, but her guardianship woes as well, the doe turned to violence. She had learnt of a foul beast called Akuji, a child-killer, a demon. Ravenflight confronted the tar-beast in the birch forest and confronted him. Both injured themselves terribly; her magnificent feathered crown was maimed.

Ravenflight had learnt of the death of one of her old friends, Iaurdagnire. The doe happened apon the dandelion one day, a large crack beside it. The doe peered down it, noticing a small glowing rune amongst the tangled roots, to discover it was his essence, his name and Ravenflight swore to protect it, no matter the cost. Foul creatures from underneath the forest wanted to steal his name, and alongside other deer in the forest, a war erupted. The doe fought scores of the creatures ruthlessly, letting her lust for war consume her entirely. Ravenflight had vanished amongst her now swelling anger and guardian power. The doe led a small horde of these creatures to the birch forest, letting them shred her to bits. As they did, the many coats of stone fell from her heart and at once her guardian power once again encased her body and she morphed into a black, feathered creature. She turned these beasts to ash and then vanished from the forest for one final time.

Ravenflight happened across a world that was far removed from that of the forest. She was weak and tattered, greeted finally by her father, Aton. The pair spoke of her feats, and Ravenflight expressed her desire to be normal, not to be bound by any of these guardian powers. Aton made it known to the doe that the threat of Feathercrest had vanished and in giving her life for the Antediluvian, she had helped maintain balance within the forest. Aton gave her a choice to either remain here in the guardian world, where she would be free from the pains of the world, or return home mortal, stripped of all her powers. Ravenflight chose to return to the forest, finally free of all of her burdens. The doe on return, remained in the forest for some time, before exploring an outside world through a portal she had made in the pond. In the outside realms, she found her appearance had entirely changed and all the scars faded from her body. In this outside realm, she thought through a lot of her old problems, and came to many realisations. The doe chose to finally part ways with Rajan, freeing her heart from innumerable amounts of torment. The doe then returned to the forest, free forever. Always a deer.
