The Melanic Wolf

Only taking this down briefly so I can finally boot my ass and finish up the biothatwasmadeagesagoforme. My motivation for Kody is just so bad. Starr y.
Will hopefully have it up this week if uni grants me the time.

She's a bit of a priss, so she doesn't enjoy mooing and jumping around as much as other fawns. She thinks Kody looks scary.

He's a bit of a grump today so wouldn't be moving around much but I guess that's good if she's not the type to hop around. Though he's normally quite active so she'd have to try and keep up if she decided to stick with him. B)
Non-mooing fawns are a relief for him though :'D

"Kody? Mh... I just wanted to say thanks for the flowers from the other day... they are nice." Nervous, Poplar tried to keep a respectable distance. She did not know what kind of mood the wolf was in today and did not want to risk offending him.

The ebony wolf just stood there. At first he was going to move away but decided to stay to see what she wanted. Ears perked up as she spoke. It didn't surprise the canine that she knew they were from him.
"...Welcome." He spoke with a crisp voice. There wasn't much more for him to say, but he remained standing there anyway, waiting to see if she had to say anything else.

A small smile painted itself on her muzzle. "I will leave you to what you were doing then." Poplar had run out of courage. It was definitely time to leave before she began to shake. Unceremoniously the doe bowed low before dashing off. She hoped it hadn't seemed too rude, but had a feeling that it had come off as a little... unseemly.

He gave a small nod as a farewell, though it probably wasn't even noticed with how quickly she ran off. He knew it must have taken a lot of courage for her to come over, and although unseen, the wolf was quite grateful for her doing so.

"Are you alright, my friend?"
He was concerned. Vasla was a force to be reckoned with. He regretted that he hadn't had the chance to help.

"I'm fine. Just a few wounds,

"I'm fine. Just a few wounds, nothing to worry about." His mouth formed a small smile. He was grateful for Zach's company. "He had no chance against so many. Clearly he's lacking a brain."
Silverpaw15's picture

The stag laughed a little.

The stag laughed a little. "Maybe. No one ever claimed he was smart. But no one ever denies his brutality and strength." That was supposed to mean that despite Kody brushing off his injuries, Zach was still worried. He had seen Vasla attack his friends multiple times, with terrifying results. Today could've been much worse.

"If you wish, I can help you clean them. We wouldn't want you getting sick." He said casually. Kody had every right to refuse this offer - but it was there none the less.

"His strength is easily

"His strength is easily beaten. Skill is what you need. Brain over brawn. Or if you're me you just use speed and wits." Holding back the temptation to foul mouth about the other wolf was hard, but he didn't want to do so in front of the stag. Perhaps he thought he was too young or just not the type to hear horrible language.

His ears lifted as he listened to the question before letting out a small laugh. "Heh. It's up to you. If you wanna go near these things." He joked, briefly looking at the bleeding wounds on his sides before turning to face Zach again.

---
Sorry my replies are so slow and crappy ;;
Silverpaw15's picture

"And considering that you

"And considering that you lived through that, I'd say your tactic is worth trying out sometime." He praised his friend lightly. In all honesty, Zach was impressed. Vasla had always been one he hadn't completely understood - but feared and respected even so.

A smile appeared on his face and he chuckled, briefly getting up to move closer to his friend so it'd be easier to start this task. "It's the least I can do for a friend." He said softly. Besides, it was no bother. He'd looked after his friends before. Granted, they weren't actually canine, but a small amounts of a wolfish scent on him wouldn't really bother him.

As he started, he made sure to be careful, but thorough at the same time. To distract his friend from the ache this had to cause him, he continued talking.
"How's Seth? I haven't seen the little blur of fur for a while.."

---

That's fine. I don't mind. ^_^
I just wanted for our boys to spend some time together.
Though I must head off to bed now as it's nearly 1am.
Feel free to reply when you can and I'll get back to you tomorrow. =)

"I've been through worse.

"I've been through worse. That was nothing. But yeah, it works considering I'm alive after all the crap I've been through." It wasn't the wolf's intention to boast, but it was true that he had seen much worse than what happened today. It was minor compared to over brawls.

The ebony canine sat still as the stag moved closer. He was grateful for the attention Zach was giving him. It was nice to know someone cared. "I'll be sure to return the favour at some point. Even if it's not cleaning wounds, I'm sure I can do something." He saw it as only manners to give him something in return.

While it did sting, it didn't bother Kody much at all. His pain tolerance levels seemed to be rather high from brutal past experiences. It seemed like he was more relaxed than in pain. "He's doing very well." His smile grew larger. "I've still many things to show and teach him. He learns things quickly, I'm so proud of him. I'm sure one day he'll even end up out-running me in chases. Perhaps you'd even be willing to see who's the fastest out of us three when he's older, hm?" A playful challenge for the future.

---

Ahh, sorry I missed saying bye to him ;;
Goodnight though <3
I should go to bed too, but I have essays to finish B(

Thank you.. for earlier. The words were soft, and the serpent seemed tired, but that didn't stop her from rubbing her skull against the obsidian canines neck with extra vigor. Are you okay?
Silverpaw15's picture

Zach nodded along with his

Zach nodded along with his friend's words. While the forest was calm, it had it's dangers. Everyone who lived here faced them sooner or later. It wasn't like Zach was a stranger to said dangers, so he could understand what Kody was talking about.

At the offer to return the favor, the stag smiled. "No rush, Kody. I'm not doing any of this so that you can owe me a favor. I expect none in return. I'm just happy to be of help." He replied in the end. The stag could see now that while the wounds may look bad, they would not threaten his friend's life as long as they were kept clean. He was relieved to make this small discovery. Even though they rarely interacted in the forest, Zach enjoyed Kody's company whenever they did spend time together - and when his friend was hurt, it caused him to worry.

When the talk moved onto Seth, Zach's grin grew as he detected the clear pride in the wolf's tone. He chuckled as he listened, nodding. "Of course he will. He will grow up while we grow older." He laughed, grinning at the challenge. "Of course." he agreed, readily. "After all, what sort of a deer would I be if I couldn't outrun a few mutts?" He teased, never intending to insult. It was all good-natured and the stag looked forward to testing his speed against his friends.

---

It's okay, I did leave rather abruptly.
I feel you, though. I have several pages left of essays to write as well. ;__;

Clare: "You don't have to

Clare:
"You don't have to thank me. That prick deserved it." The canine replied as he turned his head around to allow his muzzle to brush on the side of the serpent's own neck. "I'm fine. What about you though? He's not done anything to serious to you has he?" A brief glance was given across all her wounds, seeing if there was anything major.

---
Silver:
"Well, if you ever need anything then feel free to ask." It had been a while since someone had cleaned his wounds for him. He was very used to doing it himself. He'd be sure to find someway to repay the deed. Even if the stag objected to it.

"Heh, yeah. Though I'm stuck in my prime so thankfully I won't have grey hairs to show my age." He grinned. The wolf was glad that he never had to face the disadvantages of old age.
The grin later turned into a smirk at the stag's last comment. "I'm sure the predators can outrun the prey." An equal comment that was not intended to offend the blue stag. It would be rather interesting to see who would win the race.

---
Awww ;;
I handed mine in today, though they're not very good. But better than nothing considering he's calling the parents of 15 people in my class because they didn't hand their essays in 8'D

Clare's picture

He definitely deserved that.

He definitely deserved that. He's a savage, and he's such a coward. Chasing a doe who can't even fight back. A sigh was given, then a halfhearted shrug. Nawh. I think you and Ciel took the hardest hits, actually. He wasn't really interested in engaging me, for whatever reason. She shook her head.

"Mhm. He seems to only like

"Mhm. He seems to only like picking on does. Pussy that he is." Ears lifted at her statement. He remembered her and others standing over Kaoori protecting her while he and the rest tried to make The Wolf leave. Their team effort was rather successful. "True I suppose. I was rather determined to make him piss off. Can't stand the sight of that scum."
Silverpaw15's picture

Heh, Kody was being

Heh, Kody was being persistent. Zach smiled once more. "Very well, if you insist. I will keep your offer in mind." He promised. Zach didn't really think that he was doing all that much - cleaning wounds was something friends did to each other. It came almost naturally to him, having done it to others before.

Ah. Well, that was one piece of news Zach hadn't been aware of. Kody didn't age? ""Well, that's certainly an advantage." he commented, a bit baffled by the fact. "Though I imagine that it can be quite lonely in the end, too." Out-living all ones friends was a sad thought - especially when death was such a recent topic to the stag. "At least you'll get to kick butt for all eternity, huh?" he ended his trail of thought on a more cheerful note.

"Oh? Then why are predators so often hungry, hmm?" He countered, quite enjoying this little teasing of theirs. He was almost done cleaning Kody's wounds.

--
Wow. O_o Maybe you'll get bonus points for being on time? xD
I did loads on mine today. Still needs a bit of editing, but it's mostly done. 18 freakin' pages. >_<

He gave another smile towards

He gave another smile towards the stag and left the subject on favours at that.

"It's true that I might end up lonely, but there's a lot of deer in this forest...and people elsewhere." Not many knew that Kody was able to shift between the human world and the forest. For some reason, he remained secretive about it. "Though my mate is like me too so I doubt I'd ever get extremely lonely." The wolf felt like he was talking too much about himself. He was rather protective over his secrets, and revealing personal facts always made him feel uneasy - even if it was to a friend. "Suppose I could kick-butt all the time if I liked. Most of the people I hate will probably die before me though." Now that was a nice thought.

"Predators have to work for their food unlike deer. It's not so simple for us as it is for you. Then again, I'm not your normal every-day predator. I'm...better." Another smirk. He was truly an arrogant canine.

He realized that the stag was close to finishing cleaning his wounds. The whole time they had been talking about himself. He wanted to change to talking about Zach. "Are you okay? We've been talking so much about me that I haven't been able to ask if you're doing fine." The canine had caught wind of the recent death and knew it would probably be a sensitive subject to talk about. Kody was not the right one to talk about it either though, but he wanted to know if Zacharias was okay.

---
Pfft. I wish. My essays were poorly done so I won't be surprised if the teacher calls my parents too :'D
18 pages? ;; Woah...
That's a lot.
Sorry for any mistakes in the post btw. D:
Silverpaw15's picture

"Hm? You're very lucky." To

"Hm? You're very lucky." To find someone so similar to one's self was a gift. Truly something to treasure. And if Kody truly had an eternity to do so, he was twice as lucky. He briefly wondered if Seth too, would be like his parents? Perhaps. If that was the case, Zach definitely had time to race those to whenever they felt like it. His friend clearly avoided talking about himself more, so he didn't pry.

"Better?" He grinned. "Now THAT almost sounds like a challenge." he laughed, even more eager to test himself now. He wouldn't even mind if he ended up losing. It would just mean that he'd have to better himself - be even faster than he was now.

Zach was just finishing up with his work when Kody spoke again. He stopped, being quiet for a moment. It was a delicate subject, but he was feeling good enough now to talk about it. "I'm..better. Angry, most days..but it's getting easier now." He didn't ask how Kody knew. Most of the forest knew of their loss. "It will get easier again with time, I suppose. I still have friends and family to be with." He added.

---

Well..um. At least you did them. It's got to be a plus. ;D
Yup. ;__; Horrible.
And that's fine. I'm half asleep as it is so there's bound to be some in mine as well.
I'm going to head off to bed. Goodnight! =)

The canine shrugged. It was

The canine shrugged. It was his own doing that made his mate like him. If he hadn't taken action then it would have been likely that she would have grown older while he remained the same. The fact that it wasn't genetic was a worry for the wolf. Would his son outgrow him in appearance? Or would he have some of the chemicals that allowed the avoidance of old age in his blood? Only time would tell.

A small laugh was released in response to the stag. It would be a fun challenge indeed. Pity they would have to wait a while if they wanted to do it with Seth.

It was difficult for Kody to say anything on the matter. There was a high chance that Zach was unaware of events in the past between himself and his deceased father. It was safe to say that they didn't get on. Even when everything was settled, it still left a bitter feeling for the wolf.
"I'm sure you'll be back to normal soon. I hope you will. You're doing very well as far as I can see." He gave a soft smile. "Indeed. Remember I'll always be here if you ever need someone to talk to." Kody wasn't the best at comforting, but he did like to try and cheer others up. "Thank you, for cleaning my wounds." He added, smile growing larger.

---
True :'D
Sorry about the slow reply. I had to go to bed too and couldn't do it until I got back from school ;;

Silverpaw15's picture

Zach returned the soft smile,

Zach returned the soft smile, nodding in agreement. "Yes. It helps to have friends around. They know just the things to cheer you up with. Even when father is gone, I still have my siblings and my nephew to keep me company." He had, in his youth, been slightly aware of the rocky past Kody and his father had shared. His father was..had been a rather instinct-driven one - and as such, probably rather suspicious of predators like Kody. Zach himself had no reason to be - none had given him that reason, aside from Vasla, of course.

"Thank you, Kody. I appreciate it." It was nice to know that he had one more friend he could count on. "And you're very welcome." he said, just finishing up and taking one more look at the wounds to make sure the wasn't anything more he could do. "Now just don't go rolling in dirt or something or running too much and they should be fine."

---

It's fine. I've been busy all day as well so I haven't been online much. ^_^;

The smile remained on his

The smile remained on his face while Zach spoke. A small nod in agreement was given in response. Sticking with friends and family during such a time was best rather than coping with it alone. Kody had never really mourned over anyone. He found it hard to do so. Then again, he had never really experienced death of a close one. It seemed like common sense to be with those close to you though.

"Hah. Of course not. Not after your hard work." He turned his head to look at the newly cleaned wounds before looking back to the stag. "Hopefully you won't be getting into as much fights like me. You're probably far more sensible when it comes to such anyway. I'll be sure to do as good a job as you have if you ever receive wounds though."
Silverpaw15's picture

Zach grinned. He didn't

Zach grinned. He didn't expect Kody to do anything so foolish, of course. But he was feeling good at the moment despite the gloomy subject they'd been talking about, so he found it easy to joke and tease his friend a little. "Oh, I've gotten my fair share." He replied, shrugging the best he could. "Though I suspect that not as much as you." He noted. He was..the calm one among his friends. He'd never liked fighting - and even when he now enjoyed a good spar or two, actual fights were something he avoided.

"Lucian calls me peacemaker, if that says anything." He laughed. That was one nickname he didn't mind. "But thank you. It's nice to know I'll have someone to turn to if I need help." He thanked the wolf, smiling. It was strange - Kody was such relaxing company that Zach tended to sometimes forget the fact that his friend was a predator at all.

A call echoed over the hills and Zach's ears perked up. He smiled, then moved to slowly rise. "That'll be my nephew calling." He explained. "Thank you, Kody. For the company and the talk. I look forward to us meeting again."

"Yeah. Even the most peaceful

"Yeah. Even the most peaceful deer can rarely avoid the drama in this place." He was very used to it. A fight a week was almost normal. Truth was that Kody didn't like the fighting much. Perhaps if he was in a foul mood and had to let off steam, or if it had really been a while he'd like a bit of action - but normally he preferred to just joke around.

"Heh. You seem like a peacemaker, I've never seen you fight. Perhaps you can show me what ya got some other time." Kody loved a good play fight. Everyday he'd do it. It was a good way to practice.

The Melanic Wolf remained sitting there as the stag rose. "Thanks for everything too." He replied, smile widening. "I'll see ya later." It was time for the canine to get some rest. The sooner the wounds healed, the better.

---
Thanks for the rp <3
Gotta love them spending time together. :'D
Silverpaw15's picture

The stag chuckled. Kody

The stag chuckled. Kody seemed to be all about sending challenges his way today."Sure. Once you get better, come and find me and we'll spar." He promised. He wanted to wait until his friend was well again - no use in sparring when one was at a disadvantage.

Zach stretched, shaking his mane a bit as he got up. "Anytime, Kody. I'll see you later for that race - and that spar!" He answered with a grin before turning and trotting away towards the hills.

Long ears lifted at the sound

Long ears lifted at the sound of someone approaching. Contrasting eyes opened and looked up from the sitting position the wolf was in to see who had come over. "Yeah." Kody knew who it was. His memory was rather sharp. "Haakon, right? Umay's biological brother." He scoffed a little. "So what brings you over here? Didn't expect you to ever come over to me."

FFF. Well my reply is utter crap so B)

"Yeah. And oh? Didn't expect

"Yeah. And oh? Didn't expect me to approach for what reason?" He asked with a snort. "You're Umay's adopted brother. And while I spend most of my time being an arrogant ass, I thought I'd put forth the effort into getting to know you." A brief pause filled the air. "If you're willing to."

"'Cause you appear to be

"'Cause you appear to be stuck so far up your own ass that I thought you'd never be able to see your way over here." He replied in a casual tone. "And yes, I am Umay's adopted brother." This stag was sure to end up on his negative side already. "How nice of you to put in so much effort. I'm willing to get to know you if you don't piss me off before you even sit your ass down here." A sarcastic comment followed by an invitation to sit.

"My ass smells rather good

"My ass smells rather good actually. I keep it clean, unlike yours." The stag replied in a mocking tone. Haakon didn't like Kody much already, but it would be a bad idea to make enemies already when he'd hardly begun life in the forest. After all, it had only been a few months. However he moved in to sit anyway after the invitation was given. "Umay just loves to surround herself by arrogant asses, doesn't she?" Haakon said with a more light, joking tone than before. Which took more effort than he thought it would have. The stag wanted nothing more than to insult Kody and mock him, but Haakon wasn't a blind fool and wasn't about to cause a stir between his sister's adopted brother and himself. It could only cause stress for her. Something he was, surprisingly, unwilling to do.
