I did see it yesterday. It wasn't dark, though, just a light fog. I was just hoping to have a chance to get certain characters out while it was still foggy. There will be more chances, though.

I totally agree with you about the increased amounts of dark/edgy characters. I see it as a reaction to the tedium of the Forest--not to say that it's boring, but when you've been playing TEF for several years, you become familiar enough with the regular characters and the environment that you start searching for novelty. Violence has been such a (relative) scarce thing that I think it's the easiest for people to latch onto. Plus there are enough negative emotes in-game that it's kind of like "hey, why not? This possibility is already here". At least that's how I see it :') idk man, sorry if I don't make sense, got a sleep-hangover that I"m dealing with right now
You're not the only one who shares that sentiment. And I've grown tired of it, personally. One of the reasons why I don't really RP or even interact with anyone anymore; too much drama, and I get enough of that in real life. Trying to play more happy go lucky characters doesn't really help matters either, seems like they get sucked into trouble one way or another.
I actually like to have some drama, and wouldn't mind more for my characters since it's pretty rare for them, but you can have drama without violence. And I don't mind violence, either, it's just when that seems to be all I see that it bothers me.
I think the warnings are great, personally... they exist to protect minors and people who may suffer severe anxiety related reactions to certain themes. I can see where you're coming from in how there's a lot of it though, I guess it's a sign of the times. It's not just violence the warnings exist for though, plenty of other dramas that require a protective warning.
But I guess I'm biased for being guilty for it, since one of my characters need the warning (though violence isn't the reason for it). My other characters are okay though, at least one of them loves a good goofing off hehe.
Well, like I said, it's not the fact that people feel the need to put warnings up that bothers me. I understand why they do it. tbh though it seems like most of the time it's not really necessary. And I guess that's part of what bothers me. Because suddenly EVERYTHING needs a warning. That didn't use to be something that was considered necessary before. Now it seems more like a bandwagon than anything. otoh it's a harmless trend, and if it helps people feel more comfortable, than that's a good thing. I think I just get tired of seeing them, but that's my own problem, not anyone else's.

I was feeling the same way, just didn't know how to put my thoughts into words.

It seems to me that the issues a lot of people have with the rut could have been fixed or at least worked out better with more COMMUNICATION.
Like if you want to find someone who also wants something more serious, maybe just ask? Go to Discord or make a post on the community site. Nothing about the rut itself needs to be changed. We don't need hot spots or whatever. All that needs to be done is people need to communicate. Yeah I know it's hard for some people, I've had social anxiety most of my life and sometimes I just can't bring myself to communicate even though I know there's no reason I can't and even if I know it's the best/only way to solve something. But when that happens, I don't look to others to change things for me, or blame anyone else for something that I know perfectly well isn't their fault.
Maybe I misunderstood the problem, but my point about communication still stands.
