YAY! Oh he is a handsome

YAY!
Oh he is a handsome guy!

She gave a soft laugh and shook her head. "No worries my home is quite sturdy" she said keeping her sunshine smile wide and bright. Her white gold eyes scanned over the buck and she saw his tired look behind his eyes. "I am Primrose Eloa" she bowed gently in response to his greeting. For a moment she was silent, just looking over him, trying to figure out what was ailing him. "Forgive me, I know we have only just met but may I ask what it is that is on your mind. I can tell something is troubling you Sage" she said his name to commit it to her memory.

At seeing the smile she'd

At seeing the smile she'd give him, the stag's mood lightened up slightly. "Glad to hear," he's reply warmly. "That's a very fancy name, if I do say so myself." He couldn't help but notice the look in her eyes; observant, inspecting. Just as he finished his thought the doe would speak again, and it took him a moment to grasp what she'd said. She read his mind, hah. "It's nothing, really. I've just had a lot of time to myself lately, and I tend to... think.. an awful lot more than I usually do when that happens." He hoped his words were making sense, but if they weren't he'd gladly expand on it. It was nice having someone ask how he was. "Thank you for asking, though. How have you been? Holding up alright with this weather?"

He was such a gentle

He was such a gentle conversation partner. His voice as well as his demeanor made her feel relaxed. It was nice. She giggled slightly at his comment about her name as she'd never really saw herself as fancy. She moved a little closer to the other to make their conversation less awkward. "Oh yes, last year my coat did not grow thick but this year it seems to have finally gotten use to this place and its changes so I will be very warm" she hummed happily. "You know, if you ever feel lonely or need a friend you can come see me anytime! I love making new friends and it hurts to see others struggling alone" she said with a gentle expression on her face as she looked at the other.

{ aH I'll be sure to do the same for him 0u0 Eloa has a really nice singing voice, btw!! }

Sage grinned, lowering his head slightly at seeing her come closer. "I know this one fella who's going to have the absolute hardest time once winter really comes around," he'd chuckle. "He's definitely old enough to have a winter coat of his own but it seems luck's not on his side and it's coming in a bit late. Fortunate ones we are, eh?" The amber-eyed stag would look up and away from the smaller doe and toward her burrow. He allowed his ears to swivel in place for a moment before inquiring, "Is this one of those cases where the outside of the den betrays how big it actually is on the inside? Like a genie's lamp?" He would smile at his own remark, hoping he was coming off as humorous instead of, well, anything else that would imply negativity in his tone.

He paused, gently brushing the doe aside as he would go to inspect the den's entryway. He'd look at her, lifting a brow. "Are you hiding some type of intricate underground system in there?" he'd tease, honestly interested in the way the den would work. Of course, in his eyes it seemed incredibly small. He was a larger guy, after all, and he'd never actually lived in any type of den or shelter. He realized he'd completely phased over her words of comfort, and he would revisit the subject as he looked up at her softly. "I'll be sure to keep that in mind," he'd grin. His gaze said it all; he was actually very grateful for her words.

Hehe thanks!!!! Being an

Hehe thanks!!!! Being an angel (well fallen lol) she has to have a nice voice both when its normal and angelic haha

And I'm glad he's not super huge either haha. I compared his size to hers and he's only several hands higher than her. XD Still a big guy but not like OMG HUGE LOL

----

"I hope that other finds something to keep them warm! I know the feeling of winter on a thin coat" she shivered. As he brought up her den she glanced back at it then moved as he went to look at it. "Actually no it is quite small, just right for someone my size and maybe one other" she said moving to stand beside him and look inside as well. "Though there are small tunnels inside for my friend. He is very small so only he can fit" she giggled, imagining helmut's reaction to the small comment. "And no underground system." she laughed heartily. It was a silly idea but it made her feel quite happy to joke like this. When he accepted the offer to see each other again she beamed. "I'm glad"

At seeing her smile, he

At seeing her smile, he returned the gesture with his own grin of sorts. The white stag slowly moved to the side of the den, making sure that he couldn't damage it whatsoever (even if he couldn't) and then slowly lowered his body to the ground. Folding his thick legs beneath him, he'd look at the doe through a new perspective. They were almost practically eye level at this point. He'd watch her for a moment, and then slowly cast his gaze elsewhere. "Have you lived here long? In the Bowl?" he'd ask. "I don't think I've actually seen much of you before, if I've seen you at all." The stag's jet-black antlers became the ideal perch for a pair of swallows, who would swoop in spontaneously and settle on the upper curve of his rack. This caused a chuckle to erupt from him. He then re-directed his attention back to Eloa, and out of his polite mannerisms he would tap the ground beside him with his hoof, inviting her to sit if she'd like.
TreeDancer's picture

"I've been here a year and I

"I've been here a year and I take a walk everyday around the forest" she explained and settled on the ground with him. "Though I have been traveling outside the forest many times so perhaps we just never crossed paths" she added as a possibility. "I've not seen you either"

"Makes sense. I live farther

"Makes sense. I live farther up toward the Old Forest- not very far from here, actually. The white stag would glance about, seeing the tall trees that stood guard around the Blue Bowl. Unmoving and forever watching. "Before I was born my sister lived here for a while. She's never told me why she left." He would pause, and then look back down at Eloa with a smile. "I doubt you know her. She also tends to stick to certain people. Me and my siblings aren't the most social of folks." He'd chuckle lightly at this.
TreeDancer's picture

She listened intently as he

She listened intently as he spoke and glanced in the direction he'd motioned with his head. Her eyes kept focused in that direction as he continued to speak before she slowly looked back to meet his eyes when he had finished. "It seems the forest is like that lately, sticking to those closest. Of course that is always alright but I think its good to branch out..I try to meet someone new with each walk I take and make friends" she giggled softly. "I have not met your sister, I think I'd have known about you earlier if I did" she laughed.

The stag spared a laugh at

The stag spared a laugh at her words. "Most definitely. Leotie tends to have a hard time keeping her mouth shut for the most part." Sage lowered his head to the ground, resting it on a conveniently placed patch of grass. "I suppose you have a point; I've always been more of a 'shy' guy, I guess you could say. I was raised with two older siblings, and for a majority of my life that's all I really needed." He glanced over at the smaller doe, admiring her thick winter coat. Considering all the strange patterns and fur colors he's seen in the forest throughout his life, it was nice to have someone who wasn't as complex in design. He wouldn't call her plain, though. Unique was a better word for it. "What about you? Any siblings giving you headaches?" he would smile, closing his eyes for a moment. He could use a nap, but for the moment he was content.

TreeDancer's picture

She laughed softly "Yes

She laughed softly "Yes actually...Nix I have not seen him since I woke up" she said hoping he was alright. There was so much she wanted to talk to him about. "He's not my biological brother but since I knew him he and I had formed a strong bond and he became my family." she explained with a happy smile. He was someone she worried about daily as nearly every meeting came with wounds on Nix.

Sage lifted a brow in both

Sage lifted a brow in both curiosity and confusion at hearing her words. "Woke up?" he'd ask. "Y'make it sound as if you've been asleep for ages." Of course he was oblivious to what the doe had actually meant and instead continued to speak. "Oh yeah, I totally get that. Well, in a way. I'm actually only half-related to Leo and my other brother, Nova. We share the same mama, aha." Sage realized that it had been ages since he's openly referred to himself as the "half-brother" but in reality he'd come to terms with it. It didn't mean anything, after all. He and his siblings were still blood, still family.

TreeDancer's picture

"Love is what makes family

"Love is what makes family family" she beamed. At least that kind of love she understood. At his confusion to her word choice before she gave a soft laugh. "Its..a complicated story..concerning my 'waking up'." she said softly. "You see..I normally have magic within me , nature magic, but this fall it drained out of me, it had to go just like the leaves in the trees" she looked up and around then back at him. "And so I had turned into a tree for a while as my magic drained but now I am back and it won't happen ever again".

Sage watched her for a

Sage watched her for a moment. "So you... were a tree?" He blinked, but of course the sheer confusion only lasted briefly. "I shouldn't be so surprised. There's a lot of weirder stuff I've seen in the forest, after all." The stag rolled onto his side now, stifling a yawn. "But, are you okay now?" he would inquire, knowing he shouldn't ask too many questions as that might get on her nerves, regardless of how kind and polite she's been.

TreeDancer's picture

"I am ok" she nodded and

"I am ok" she nodded and smiled "You're sweet to be concerned for me even though we just met." It felt so nice to find such sincere people around her. He looked tired and a soft expression filled her face. "You look exhausted. You can rest here if you'd like" she offered

Sage would smile at the

Sage would smile at the thought. "What can I say, I'm a sweet guy." The words rolled off his tongue in that charming, humorous tone of his. He lifted one golden-amber eye toward the doe at hearing her suggestion. "No no," he'd retort softly, beginning to roll back onto his stomach with a grunt, "it would be rude of me." He'd blink sheepishly because he knew deep inside he would love a nap right about now. Eloa's presence was comforting and soothing, just as one might think. "Unless," he'd add, "it wouldn't be too much trouble? I'll steer clear of your nest; wouldn't want me wrecking the place." He'd chuckle as he glanced over toward the burrow's entrance.

TreeDancer's picture

"Its no trouble at all" she

"Its no trouble at all" she said with a soft laugh. "Really all are welcome to rest here and you don't have to steer clear of anything Sage, you can be as close or as far as you like" the doe hummed. She doubted he'd be able to damage it, she had far bigger guests sleep beside her home with no damage to it what so ever.

Sage would grin lightly.

Sage would grin lightly. "Well, if you insist. A nap couldn't hurt." He would slowly readjust himself altogether, folding his legs beneath him completely. He lowered his head to the ground, resting his eyelids as he would ask, "What of you?" He lifted one brow, opening an eye and looking at Eloa with a twinkle of his eye.

TreeDancer's picture

She settled close to where he

She settled close to where he was though gave him some space. He was a new acquaintance and she didn't want to push her boundaries just yet. "I will nap with you" she said happily."It has been a while since I have been able to just enjoy a nice afternoon like this with someone"

{ shitttt late af response

{ shitttt late af response }

The white stag would give her a stern nod of approval. "Sounds good to me," he'd say whole-heartedly, his eyelids drooping. The forest was still dark and foggy, and for a heartbeat he would come to miss the once sunlit hills and the warmth of the boulders at the Playground. "Do you like this weather?" he'd ask softly, his voice rolling off his tongue almost sleepily. He'd glance over at the doe who had taken a seat a few feet away, and he'd hope she wouldn't get cold. Of course, she did have her winter coat so in the back of his mind this comforted him.

TreeDancer's picture

PFF its ok xD I'm so

PFF its ok xD I'm so patient

----

She settled her head on the ground near his only a few inches away so they could talk if they wanted. Her eyes had been closed but she peeked one white gold eye open when he asked about the weather. "I didn't at first, " she said honestly. "I didn't have a winter coat the first winter here and I nearly died due to illness, but this year it seems my body finally caught up with this place" she giggled softly. "So..now that I feel warmer yes, i do like it"

Sage would hum in

Sage would hum in understanding before speaking again, "Understandable. I'm a sucker for this type of weather." He'd let out a content huff under his breath before adding, "The gloominess of the forest and the gray sky makes me feel brighter inside, y'know? Like, when the weather is dark and sad I feel just the opposite. This is the perfect weather to get together with someone you care about and just share in the warm presence of one another." Sage would pause. "That sounded really sappy, but y'know... it's whatever." He cleared his throat, surprised at himself. He'd glance over at Eloa, trying to read her expression.

TreeDancer's picture

She giggled softly at his

She giggled softly at his last comment "Its not sappy at all. I agree with you completely. I like it for the same reasons..and the smell of decaying leaves..the chill in the air..there is something unique and entirely magical about this time when everything is changing" she closed her eyes and sighed deeply.

The white stag would go

The white stag would go silent for a matter of minutes, just letting the forest's natural melody sooth them. He was nearly dozing by the time he would stir again, letting out a small breath of satisfaction. "Eloa?" he'd murmur, "You okay?" He moved his head slightly in order to have his nose brush the doe's leg for a second, as if seeing if she was still conscious.

TreeDancer's picture

She smiled as they enjoyed

She smiled as they enjoyed the peace of the forest a while but when she felt his nose touch her leg her eyes opened and she blinked a few times. "Oh..y..yes I'm alright why do you ask" she said looking back at him with slight confusion.

The stag would blink at

The stag would blink at hearing her response, only to shake his head with a smile. "It's nothing. I should've let you continue resting," he'd say with a grunt. He shifted in place, his rear legs now kicked out to the side of his stomach. He rolled onto his side, making sure his antlers steered clear of Eloa; they were pretty sharp little things, they were. "When do you figure Velocity will come around?" he'd ask suddenly, his eyelids drifting half-way shut as he watched the blue flowers stirring within the hollow.

TreeDancer's picture

She kept her eyes wide open

She kept her eyes wide open as she watched him, still quite confused by all he was saying. At his next question she was left even more confused. She was silent, watching him slowly drift off to sleep."Im..sorry..Velocity?" she asked softly. The doe felt quite lost by this conversation.

--

Ok now i remember....eloa never knew velocity's name in the past sooo she is still confused

{ noPE LOL } Sage blinked in

{ noPE LOL }

Sage blinked in surprise. "Oh, maybe you don't know him by that name... Most others tend to call him the 'Big Zombie Deer'." The white stag snorted. "I was raised thinking he was some type of myth, but a few of my friends say they've actually seen him in the forest. He only comes once a year, though, so it'd make sense that I missed him for... well, all my life." The amber-eyed stag caught himself, glancing back over at Eloa to see if she had even the slightest idea of what he was yapping on about.

TreeDancer's picture

"OH! oh yes" her head raised

"OH! oh yes" her head raised "I remember him, it should be soon that he appears" she said eventually settling her head back down. "I made a skull mask last year when he had visited. At first I was so naive and frightened but now I look forward to it!" she giggled softly.

Sage's spirits were lifted at

Sage's spirits were lifted at hearing this. She'd seen him as well! "I can't tell you how eager I've been to finally get a skull mask of my own," he'd snicker. "A majority of those I tend to hang out with all have one, and I can't help but feel envious." He let out another snort. "Pfft, I should listen to myself go on like a bratty teen." The stag would laugh again. "Whats yours look like?" he'd ask curiously. As he spoke, a small ladybug would come about and land upon his nostril. He'd stiffen slightly, out of impulse, and cross-eyed he would watch it crawl about his muzzle. "Mm."

TreeDancer's picture

She giggled and shook her

She giggled and shook her head. "No..you don't sound bratty at all. Its natural to be excited about something like that!" she encouraged him and scooted closer to nudge his cheek with her nose. At him asking what hers looked like she scrambled up and went into her den, emerging with her mask and set it down before him before laying down again herself. "Here it is!" she pronounced proudly. "What do you think"

MASK

Sage would smile softly at

Sage would smile softly at feeling her nose brush his cheek; comforting. He'd then watch as the doe scampered off into her den in a matter of seconds, only to emerge almost straight away. At seeing her plop the mask onto the soil before him, the stag rolled onto his stomach and lowered his neck to inspect it properly. "Not bad!" he'd muse, all the while nodding and giving her this expression. "Very impressive, Miss Eloa." He'd sniff the mask briefly before looking at her. "Painted it yourself? A pretty difficult feat when you've got hooves." He'd dip his head to her, adding, "You don't cease to amaze." He lifted a brow, giving her one of his charming grins. The jokester couldn't help but tease, but his reaction to seeing her craft was and had been genuine.

TreeDancer's picture

She looked quite proud of her

She looked quite proud of her work and got a little embarrassed at his compliments. "Oh goodness I'm not that amazing" she said shaking her head and tapping her hooves anxiously. "It was rough work...and I want to make another this year..a better one!" she nodded and picked up the mask to set it against the opening of her den. "I could help you with yours when you get it if you'd like!" she offered with a grin. "It is very fun especially with friends"

He'd puff out his cheeks for

He'd puff out his cheeks for a moment before replying, "If I get it. It wouldn't be unlike me to sleep through the whole event, hah." He'd smile at her offer, regardless. "But I'll love it if you could. I'd make a mess, most likely." He'd suddenly begin to prop himself onto his hooves, rising to his full potential. He'd look down at her. "Would you like to take a walk? There's a place I'd like to show you." He'd kick out his back legs slightly. "Besides, my hooves were on the verge of falling asleep," he'd chuckle.

TreeDancer's picture

"I'll get you one then if you

"I'll get you one then if you are unable" she said cheerfully. As he rose she watched him wondering if he was making his leave but when he offered a walk and him wanting to show her something she grinned and stood up, shaking the dirt from her fur. "I'd be happy to take a walk with you"she said with a polite dip of her head. Her curiosity was stroked with this mention of a place he wanted to show. She'd been all over the forest so if he had a secret place she'd never seen before the doe felt excited to see it. "Oh yes my hooves were getting there too" she said with a soft laugh as she shook one hoof out before her.

The stag would swing his head

The stag would swing his head to the side slightly, motioning for her to follow as he would begin to leave the boundaries of the Blue Bowl. With the tall stalks of grass tickling his legs, he'd find his way through the birch forest toward the rolling Red Hills. Every so often he'd glance behind him to see if Eloa was keeping up alright; the walk would be silent, as so they could enjoy the scenery and all it had to offer. Eventually they'd reach the edge of the bright birch woods, and stepping into the more familiar Old Forest, Sage would guide the smaller doe to a small grove. It was a place relatively tucked away, and was almost always empty and devoid of strangers. The grass was decorated with poppies, a very inviting sight. "Here we are," the white stag would say at last, edging closer to a single, small tree that stood among the poppies. He'd plop himself down beside it, giving Eloa a warm glance. "Admittedly it's nothing special, but this is where I've been staying for the past few weeks."

TreeDancer's picture

She followed and kept right

She followed and kept right at his heels. Eloa enjoyed the silence of their walk and having someone to enjoy a walk with at all. When they finally reached his hidden grove she let out a small 'oh' and her eyes glanced about. "I can't believe I didn't know this was here" she said looking around and exploring the small area. She felt rather touched that he'd share such a place with her after having only just met her. "Its nice..and so peaceful..."she closed her eyes and lifted her head to feel the soft wind, the cool breeze and the gentle warmth of the sun. The scent of decaying leaves was thick here and it was almost like a calming magic has swept over her.

{ lATEEE has a busy day rip

{ lATEEE has a busy day rip }

The stag would smile at her reaction. "I couldn't agree more," he'd say. "I used to live close to here, alongside my siblings of course. They've moved into their own dens at this point, but I'm not one to complain." He'd watch her, seeing the wind blow through her thick coat. "Do you travel much?" he'd ask, taking note of her remark. "I'm never too surprised when someone shows up around this place, but it is pretty surprising that you haven't come around before." He'd let out a hoarse breath through his nostrils, eyes shutting for a brief second. This pains were starting up again, but he would brush the discomfort aside.

TreeDancer's picture

"I did before my magic left"

"I did before my magic left" she said glancing back at him and turned to move towards him. "I moved through portals all the time to gather items for my charms. For now I'm restricted to the forest" she shrugged but seemed happy. When she was beside him she watched as he closed his eyes and let out a hoarse breath. "you ok?" she asked with a tilt of her head.

He'd reply with a small nod,

He'd reply with a small nod, although even he wasn't convinced. "I'm fine. I've just been having some stomach pain for the past few days. I'm sure it's nothing, though." He'd chuff gently, almost reassuringly, as he would look at her directly. "Don't reckon that's anything special, eh? It's probably just something I ate." The white stag's amber eyes would shine gently as he spoke; his tone wasn't all too certain, on the other hand.

TreeDancer's picture

She frowned at his situation.

She frowned at his situation. "Had I my magic I could cure that for you..though I do have a medicine I made that could ease your pain a little, if you're interested" she said moving closer to the stag with great concern in her eyes. The last thing she wanted was to lose a friend she just met.

Sage would stifle a chuckle

Sage would stifle a chuckle at hearing her words. "What have I got to lose?" he'd answer gently, ears flattening ever so slightly as he would notice the worry in her gaze. For the little time they've known one another, she really was quite a caring individual. It touched him, in a way. "Would the medicine happen to be back at your den?" he'd say with a raise of his brow, amber eyes thoughtful yet tired.

TreeDancer's picture

She nodded "I think I can

She nodded "I think I can remember how to get back here myself, you rest I'll be right back" she said turning quickly and bounding away as fast as her legs could carry her. Eloa had always been fast, ever since the day she arrived it was one of her strengths. When she reached the burrow she was out of breath but she wasted no time in putting her bag around her and placing her medicines inside. After making sure all was there she headed back to his hidden place. She got lost several times before reappearing, more worn out than before. "Ok..h..here it is" she gasped as she made her way to his side and curled her legs beneath her. She set the bag before her and pulled out a tiny vial of paste like fluid. With relative ease despite having no hands she opened it and smeared it on a leaf. "it actually tastes nice, like mint but you need to eat it all and dont chew it..you have to swallow it whole" she instructed and lifted the leaf up to his mouth.

Sage would open his mouth to

Sage would open his mouth to protest, but before the words were able to leave his mouth she was gone. Fast one, ain't she? he'd remark to himself. He isn't sure how long she was gone, but by the time she remerged from the surrounding vegetation he had been fighting to stay awake. He was tired, and you could see it in his eyes. He'd open his mouth slightly to ask if she was alright once he'd noticed how harshly she was breathing, but his attempt was drowned out by her own words. She plopped down beside him and next thing you know she's holding up a leaf filled with some type of... liquid? He wasn't sure. "Hm," he'd chuckle, "never been hand-fed before." He gave her a charming smile before he would swallow his reluctancy and opened his mouth wide. He felt the strange paste fall into his mouth, and the white stag quickly scoffed it down. He'd gag a bit, surprised at the intensity of the minty flavor. "Thank you," he'd say, looking at her. "What do you call that stuff?"

TreeDancer's picture

"I don't have a name for it

"I don't have a name for it yet..but its a mixture that eases stomach pains of all kinds. I ..I don't want to be useless without my magic so I am doing all I can to provide the same care naturally" she explained though she knew it wasn't a very good explanation. She set the leaf down and turned her head back to observe him. "It should start working in fifteen minutes...I hope.."she really had not tested it on anyone but herself so she wasn't sure how others reacted to it. Her white gold eyes darted over him looking for any signs of bad reactions and was ready with remedies to counteract it if there were.He looked exhausted. The doe was worried for her new friend, wondering what it was that had him so dragged out. It made her think of Nix and all the fights he was in, or any of the males she knew. All of them seemed to like to get into various kinds of trouble. She had to thank them though, their carelessness drove on her desire to be better at healing. They had to have someone to depend on right?

The stag would shake his head

The stag would shake his head and gave her a smile. "You shouldn't worry yourself," he'd answer, "although I'm grateful for your company. I'm sure I'll be fine." He'd lower his head, closing his eyes. His facial expressions seemed more at ease now that she'd given him the "medicine." He let out a small sigh, his ears folding back a bit into their neutral resting position. He'd open an eye, looking at the smaller doe for a moment. "Know any songs?" he'd ask. "My sister and I used to sing all the time when we were younger. Of course, I was a much spryer young lad back in the day." He'd let out a gentle hum, his voice growing deep inside his throat. The guy had some bass, that's for sure.

TreeDancer's picture

"I do" she nodded. She

"I do" she nodded. She doubted her voice would carry the angelic magic of before but she wanted to help him to rest. "You make it sound as though you're ancient" she giggled before she settled a bit and cleared her throat and began to Sing. The forest seemed to pick up her voice and echo it, giving her her own harmonies and making it sound far more magical than she was capable of at the time.

The stag snorted at her

The stag snorted at her remark. "I might as well be," he chuckled, only to go silent as she'd begin to sing. His amber eyes widened slightly as he watched her and the first thought that would come to mind was, Beautiful. As he listened to her breathtaking vocals echo throughout the small grove, he felt the discomfort in his stomach begin to slowly fade. Either the medicine was taking its affect, or Eloa's soothing melody was putting him at ease. He was oblivious to his eyelids beginning to slowly shut, and in a matter of minutes he fell into a light but peaceful doze. Unconsciously, his ears continued to twitch to and fro in response to certain sounds he heard from either somewhere in the forest or a change of pitch in Eloa's song.

When she finished she glanced at him and smiled warmly when she saw he was asleep. Not wanting to risk him waking she settled her head down beside his and closed her own eyes to join him in a small nap.
