After finding the rose left by nix and finding out through a bit of digging that he was gone the doe has spiraled into a deep depression. She feels lost which already had been bothering her before this. She doesn't know what to believe anymore. So far her friend Riddick has helped lift her mood by building her a blanket fort and brought her decorations for her den.

Bayleen smiled, glancing down at the ground, the jewel on her nose twinkled iridescently in the sunlight and her short, wavy hair dangled at her cheeks -- the first sign of bashfulness since meeting Eloa. She reacted in this manner when complimented; at a loss for words, every time. Bayleen wouldn't say outright, but she felt quite the opposite of what Eloa said..

"The feeling is mutual."

The doe took a few slow steps past Eloa, glancing out to the Birch. She shook out her fluffy chest of feathers. Most of her coat was feathers, save her legs and some parts of her back and side. As she shook, some tiny white feathers floofed out, drifting slowly to the ground. "The weather will be getting cold soon," she remarked, scratching at the dry auburn ground with her hooves. "I hope my feathers keep me warm with the winter season."

"I've heard many glories things about the night sky" she said turning with the other to look at the Birch. "In heaven, the light from our father shines so brightly there is no need for a sun or moon...so I am most excited to see his wondrous works with my own eyes" she said fluffing up her fur happily. Her halo gave off a steady glow to further show the does excitement. "Snow...and cold..I do not know these things. Only warmth, so if this cold is too much for you perhaps I can help you with my own warmth"she said turning to look up at her with a smile.

'I've heard many glorious things about the night sky'

At this, Bayleen nodded to the angel and then turned forward to munch on some blueberries a few feet in front of them. "Yes, night is one of my favorite times" she said in-between bites. "Though, probably beat by the colors of the sunset sky."

Bayleen refocused her attention upon Eloa, listening intently of her Heaven. "Heaven sounds very... bright. But I imagine it to be a peaceful kind of brightness, like being bathed in warmth.. Must be nice. Do you miss it?"

The winged doe looked intently upon Eloa, thinking. A part of her had the urge to protect Eloa, from all the terrible and secular things of this universe. To remain pure, as she is now. Bayleen wasn't sure if angels could fall from the grace of God, but if it was possible, she did not wish that fate for Eloa.

She could not wait to see the things Bayleen described and felt herself swell up with joy at the thought. When she spoke of heaven Eloa nodded. "yes that is very correct. It feels as though warm arms are around you all the time, protecting you, making you feel safe" she said with a grin. She paused before answering the other's question. "I do and I do not. It was by my free will that they let me leave. I had no purpose other than exist and so I wished to learn of the world that we so strongly protect. They thought here is better for me. safer." she replied quietly as if she feared heaven would hear her and punish her for saying something wrong.

"..Safer? Interesting.. I would imagine there's nothing safer than Heaven."

The feathered doe ambled a few feet forward, deeper into the birch. The Birch was her favorite place. She enjoyed the golden and red shades, bleeding violently into the forest. Intense, passionate.

She glanced back as Eloa's voice softened a bit. Bayleen wondered if God and all his archangels heard and saw what happened in the forest. If they did, would He smite the deer with strikes of lightning, zapping from the forest forever? No... at least, that was not the God she believed in. There were the Twin Gods of the forest, but she wasn't sure if they were the same thing.

"Well, here I suppose it is safe. Safe enough, as long as you're within good company."

"Ah forgive me I meant safer than any other....place in this world. Here is is caged in...separate from the harsher world." She said though not realizing the forest had its own darkness within it. "Indeed and I know the lord and fellow angels are watching over me as well" she nodded and grinned with a smile that rivaled the sun's rays.
Bayleen's picture

"I suppose I can't argue with

"I suppose I can't argue with that logic," Bayleen said with a slight shrug. Her ear flicked in the direction of her friend; from the corner of her eye she could see Eloa's face radiating with the same kind of light equal to the sun itself. The air around them seemed to slow, awed by her beauty. All nature seemed to succumb to her purity. Being around an angel was quite an other-worldly experience, Bayleen thought.

"I like to this God is here in this forest," Bayleen spoke at last, looking out into the Birch forest which seemed interminable. A sea of yellows and ambers before them. Her glossy eyes seemed to be scanning the forest. "He, or she, must be a deer. An equal to me.. Maybe.. somewhere... "

Bayleen liked to believe God walked amongst them, a fellow deer, human, whatever form He or She may take. A God, one with the forest and its inhabitants. The doe had heard so many other ways of viewing it, but she created her own version within her head. She didn't expect others to understand it, though. Bayleen wondered what this angel thought of her, having met the deity with her own spirit.

"God is omnipotent he is

"God is omnipotent he is everywhere so you are not incorrect" she said with a soft giggle. She understood there were many beliefs and faiths in the world. She respected this and knew that what was expected of her was to love others and resist judgement. Only one had the power to judge and she was not that deity.
Bayleen's picture

"Mhmm, perhaps that's what

"Mhmm, perhaps that's what makes it all so... interconnected," Bayleen replied with a yawn. "Like a spiderweb."
It was at that moment that Bayleen's stomach grumbled. Her dark brown ears flicked forward. "Food time. The blueberry bowl isn't far from here. There are blossoms too.

TreeDancer's picture

She liked that comparison.

She liked that comparison. Having never needed food the doe never realized she too was hungry till the others stomach growled and she was left stunned a moment before the other spoke. "So that is what that means? We need food?" she asked as her stomach echoed Bayleen's.
Bayleen's picture

Bayleen had forgotten that

Bayleen had forgotten that this angel wasn't used to having a body before. She began to walk into the direction of the blueberries, when she looked back at Eloa. "Yes. Food gives us energy, and so we must take in substances. There's a few things in the forest.. Not too many, but we don't need too much anways. It's just enough."

Bayleen stretched out a wing and gave a wave, urging Eloa to follow. "I'll feed you baby bird," she teased lightly.

"I must ask if you can show

"I must ask if you can show me. I was taught nothing since my birth so all I know is what I've seen" she said trotting lightly beside the other. Plants seemed to bloom and shine with each step she took only to revert to their previous state as she left. The baby bird comment was rather endearing to her. She did find herself feeling quite young despite being ageless here. "Don't worry, I won't scream at you like little birds do" she teased back.

'Don't worry, I won't scream at you like little birds do'

"Aw, but what's the fun in that?" the feathered doe replied with a rather impish smile.

Bayleen softly treads along the auburn ground, her movements rather slow and gentle. She seldom ran, not because she couldn't, but, well, she simply didn't like running. She enjoyed taking her time anyway-- gives more room to think and observe the beauty of the forest, and even of her new friend beside her. The ground practically glowed beneath the angel's hooves, a glimmer of vibrancy, even for just a few moments. Eloa seemed to sparkle with life and vitality everywhere she went.
Bayleen wondered if Eloa was aware of her own ethereal beauty.

Soon, a circle of large birch trees began to come into view. The blueberry bowl.

"Ah, yes, my second favorite place in the forest," she remarked as they drew near. Bayleen took in a deep breath, the scent of blueberries and blossoms filling the air-- and also another foreign smell, from Eloa. She wondered what is was-- human perfume? Oil? The doe wasn't sure, and decided maybe she would discover what it was later.

Ella took in the forest as they walked. Walking with another was most definitely better than doing it alone. In fact having company at all was a dream come true for her. The scent of berries was strong and she stopped to take it all in. The grass and leaves had been overwhelming her first day here but this was entirely new. Hesitant steps pulled her forward into the tall bushes that dwarfed her head, only the glowing orb atop her head was any signal as to where she was. Slowly and shyly she opened her mouth to take a berry. Her coordination was about as good as a fawns and she got berry juice all over her before she even got three berries into her mouth. Once inside her eyes opened wide and she dug in stopping short of being full as she walked out looking guilty..and very blue. "I almost gave into gluttony"she said , ears flat. "That was very good..I can see why it is a deadly sin to eat too much!" she said shaking her fur free of loose leaves and twigs but was unaware of her current recolor.

Bayleen watched as the angelic doe tip-toed into the blueberry patches. Bayleen began to munch on some blueberries a few feet away, eyeing the glowing orb which bobbed at Eloa explored. When Eloa emerged, looking as guilty as a fawn that had shoved someone into the trench.

Bayleen burst into laughter as she saw the doe had stained her pelt, and especially her muzzle, purple-blue from blueberry juice. "Well, you are what you eat! And you are blue!" the doe squeaked between laughs. "But no matter..!"

The feathered doe immediately dove back into the blueberry clusters, thumping onto the ground and rolled around, squishing the blueberries beneath her. Not a minute later, the doe shot back out, pelt and wings speckled with blueberry juice, panting and giggling lightly.

"Now, we match!" she said with a grin, prancing about in a sort of jig with mock pride. "When people say- 'deers, you have blueberry smears on you,' we'll say: Psh, this be not blueberry juice! Honey, this is natural!"
Bayleen batted her eyes in mock flirtation before laughing again.

If I say weird things between now and monday its due to lack of sleep and lots of caffeine XD)

She felt a little embarrassed as the other laughed at her but she soon joined in. Her laughter stopped as Bay smeared herself with the fruit which caused her to erupt in laughter. Ella's laughter made the plants around her burst into blossoms and drew various birds and butterflies to their location. "Yes we match quite well" she laughed, ignoring the animals she'd unwittingly summoned. "Oh yes quite natural" she said prancing about but stopped herself mid stride and returned to her humble posture, a small giggle lingering on her voice.

{aha, don't worry about it ;D that'll be me this weekend, probably}

The feathered doe pranced with Eloa for a few seconds, but stopped as she saw the blossoms bloom and small critters flock to them. Her glossy eyes widened with stupor, mouth agape as she observed the spectacle.
"Oh, wow... would'ya look at that! What a miracle! You really are the doe of life."

Bayleen reared up a little bit, touching her nose to a passing butterfly before it dashed quickly away.

She looked around finally noticing them and gave a soft laugh. As she turned back Bayleen was gone but with a quick look around she saw her dashing about. Feeling herself grow excited she bound after her dashing about the bushes getting even more blue than she already was.
Bayleen's picture

As Eloa joined in, Bayleen

As Eloa joined in, Bayleen felt her own levels of energy heighten with glee. Bayleen grinned and hopped, even pausing to do a sort of dance about the blueberry bushels, before rearing up again, chasing the birds that flew past and tweeted at them.

Quickly, though, the doe began to tire out. Still in awe, Bayleen emerged from the tall green grass that nearly covered her completely, and slumped to the ground, panting just slightly. Bayleen couldn't help but chuckle at the sight-- two does who almost completely wrecked the blueberry bowl. But, she knew that someone must clean up the place, as it is always pristine each time she visits. Someone, some nameless deer, must be working the gods' magic in the forest..

Ella felt her breathe coming

Ella felt her breathe coming in heavy bursts. She'd never needed to move so much before and did not realize how this mortal form could wear out so easily. With a laugh she settled near the other. "That was...rather exciting" she said looking a total mess but shining brighter than ever. Even her wings were showing in her excitement.
Bayleen's picture

Bayleen watched the other

Bayleen watched the other frolic, before she, too, lied down. The doe smiled gently, admiring the angel's newfound glow.

"Isn't it? Ah, it's so much fun, I hope to never leave. I would miss it.."

Bayleen looked around-- the birds, butterflies, the trees, and sunlight. Indeed, she would miss the forest, if she ever left.. or died. She would rarely admit this, but she is scared of death. Almost paranoid. Which was ironic, considering how often she thought of it and topics involving it. Her eyes, though a mere glossy haze, seemed to be looking somewhere beyond the trees.

Her smile faltered, but for a moment, before she recovered it again. She looked back to Eloa, ears perked with eagerness. "There are so many things to do, so many places to see!"

She agreed and turned to watch the forest as well, missing the slight faulted from the other."Yes I've walked this forest quite a bit now and I still find something new overtime" she said flipping her large fluffy tail happily.

"I favor the Birch, though.

"I favor the Birch, though. It's the trees," Bayleen responded with a nod to the large birches that towered over them. "There's something hypnotic about them, even the birch itself. I wouldn't mind getting lost in it for hours."

Her dappled wings stretched out a bit as she gave a small yawn. Suddenly a vision of a fawn hopping over the river-trench vaguely overlapping with her view of the blueberry bowl. She blinked several times and shook her head. "Huh..."

Bayleen's picture

The doe blinked her eyes

The doe blinked her eyes again, the overlaying vision fading and she could see the Birch clearly again.
"That's weird..."
One of her ears arched outward, the other leaning forward towards the lake. She suddenly hatched an idea. The doe looked at Eloa, finally having the chance to acknowledge her.
"Would you mind coming with me to the river for a moment?"

Without waiting long for a reply, the doe began to stand and trot a few feet forward, emerging from the blueberry bowl.

"Euhm... I think.. I'm seeing things."
The feathered doe trotted along, sticking close to Eloa. They were only a few minutes from the Crying Idol.
Soon enough they were in the green of the mossy forest. The heavy stream of rushing water could be heard as the ancient rock, the Crying Idol, came into view. As Bayleen expected, there the fawn was, leaping from one side the the other of the trench.

"Yup, I'm right," Bayleen said decidedly, stopping some ways away from the scene. "I am seeing things."

Eloa looked at the other confused "It is a fawn? do you know them? Are they lost?" she asked her before looking at the sweet little one playing amongst the stones.

Bayleen sniffed at the

Bayleen sniffed at the ground, then looked around them, her head still low. Skeptical, like she was waiting for someone to come out from behind the trees and tell her she had been duped. That it was all in her head. Her wings flapped, anticipating something, anything. But the forest was still.

"No... It's just... When I was with you in the Birch, I saw the fawn too. Almost like I had a vision of them, jumping, and it overlapped with what I was already looking at in the Birch. Seeing both at the same time."

Bayleen wasn't sure how to wrap her head around it. How could she prove she was right..? When suddenly..

"I know! You said you liked the Ruins, right? If you go there, and I stay here, I could probably see you even from the lake!"

"Oh?" she questioned unsure

"Oh?" she questioned unsure what sort of energy this was. "So you would like me to go to the ruins to test this?" she asked , her head turning to look back at the fawn before looking back at Bayleen, quite confused.

Bayleen gave an eager nod.

Bayleen gave an eager nod. "Yes! Exactly! If you go to the Ruins, I can join you shortly after.. If it works, I'll be able to explain this thing better, whatever it is."

She nodded "Alright" the doe

She nodded "Alright" the doe was excited now for the experiment. It fascinated her to know end and she wanted to know the cause herself. With a skip in her step she was off, leaving a trail of green growing plants in her wake. Once at the ruins she pranced around, jumping on the stone and wandering about before pushing herself in the little cage inside the ruin and sat there to wait for Bayleen to rejoin with her and explain what was happening.
Bayleen's picture

Bayleen watched the little

Bayleen watched the little angel leave and then began to make way to the Lake, doing a double take as she noticed foliage sprout in her step.

The feathered doe snuck through the Willow trees that dotted the perimeter of the Lake and walked along its shore. She lowered her mouth to take a drink, and a vision began to appear. The doe paused, staring at the reflection of the water on which the saw the vision over her own reflection.
It was a doe, it was Eloa. Jumping on the Ruin stones. The vision was faint at first, but then began to clear. But it was still blurry as it was upon the surface of the water. Then Eloa lied down inside the cage.

Bayleen threw her head back and began to jet towards the Ruin. The vision of Eloa remained, but began to grow dimmer and dimmer as she neared the Ruin.

The ecstatic doe nearly slid into the dust and sand around the Ruins, clamoring, "I can do it! It worked! I have sight... of... things!"
She could barely even understand it herself, nevermind putting it into words.

Even as she said this, the vision of the fawn come into her view again, a faint overlapping image. The fawn was now sleeping beside the Crying Idol. The doe shut her eyes tight and shook her head, the image fading away and only Eloa remained within her sight.

Bayleen hopped around, excited with her new discovery. Though she had no idea whether she could control it or not, it was a "cool" gift, nonetheless. The doe hopped upon stone after stone of the ancient Ruin, nearly falling off at one point.

"The irony is that I can't master my normal ability to see, nevermind this new one," the doe poked fun at herself, regaining her balance upon the old moss-grown stones. "Too busy looking ahead, instead of what's in front of me. Sometimes vice versa."

Bayleen continued to climb upon the rocks, legs shaky and wobbling and wings extended to help keep balance. She glanced at Eloa, wondering how she was so poised.

"Balance is not one of my forte's," the feathered doe murmured, hopping off of the stones and drifting slowly onto the sandy ground. Balance was, indeed, not one of her forte's; not physically or mentally. "Never has been, really.. Not sure how much I mind it."
