Subnautica's got me real good guys. I've been trapped playing it obsessively for days now rip. It's just so much fun... I'm not even doing the story lol I just want to build my perfect base and explore.

There's an option on my Steam profile where friends can request to watch me play. So if anyone's interested, my steam is this. Don't need to ask beforehand, just go there and request to watch and I'll respond as long as I'm available. Sometimes I'm afk as I look after my aging grandparent a lot these days.

Taking a break from TEF for a bit.

ApoideaBee, Lacie, Jala: I do try! Though perhaps I should say he is, in some ways, ruled by his "meat stick", lol. I mean in a very natural way, he thinks the meaning of life is to reproduce. He lives for the chance to carry on his genetics. Just not in a perverse degrading way!

Basically what Bee said. Wanting to further his genepool isn't the same as "oh hot damn look at dat gurl ayyye lemme bang ya." You really can't fault an instinctual character.

I honestly think back to a conversation I remember reading between him and Kiyoko about it. He was frank yet gentle about it. He's not a character that falls in love with someone and then cheats behind their back. He explained his instincts to her, and he explained that he did father another's fawn. If that isn't being respectful, I don't know what is.

At least that's how I see him. I don't see him as a sleazeball in the slightest. And neither does character!Lacie. She understands.

Thanks, I do try really hard to portray him in that area. Besides, I don't think I could enjoy playing a sexist character (though I'm cool with sexist characters as long as it's IC)... Especially in the "not-so-intelligent" type animals. A majority of animals just aren't that way. Most of them aren't even malicious in nature.

I wouldn't want to glorify playing a feral character though. There's so so much more to it than just the reproductive subject. Whenever I play The Red, I'm much more cautious. I don't like to leave him alone lest a predatory character come by. The Red would be considered a prey animal, and I want to be there for him in times where he's confronted by a dangerous situation.
So whenever I play him, I'm paranoid with him. Every location has to be assessed, every nearby picto has to be checked for a bio as quick as I can, so an appropriate response can be made. It can be thrilling, but really stressful at times. To me though, my Hart is worth it.

This is what it means to play a feral character.

thelittleraven, Mjrn: The trick is to tie heartily with them. Connect with, then listen to what they say and want. Don't restrict them for your own wants. I did once and it turned out really bad. Since returning, he's been completely free.

Last night he and I spontaneously connected, and I cried on his behalf because his emotions were really strong. It feels special to say that he is so alive to me.

Aye, most of my characters are pretty chill with Nameless even ICly, but if I have a character who wouldn't usually play (lookin at u Eliah) then I'll consider myself OOC to make the Nameless feel welcomed and acknowledged, if even for a moment!
.. Unless I'm pretending to be AFK because I'm lazy, ahaha.

Oh god. Send them back to Moo Island...

A few years ago I interacted with a Nameless and was there when they joined. Silverpaw15. I helped them feel welcome, had Red adopt their fawn, hung out frequently. They introduced their sister willowleaf into TEF too. Since then I've met them both IRL.
It's a very special memory of mine, and it all started with such a small gesture!
