Taking full advantage of the new fawns in the Forest. 8 in her belly already, not enough adults around to stop her. Today is a buffet.
01/03/2012:
Gorged herself this morning. 7 fawns in her belly. Fled from Rutilus who protected a small group of fawns and also chased her away from other fawns who strayed too close. Almost had an 8th fawn but Miyako was too fast for her. Nekumbra takes note of her pictogram
Sitting alone to digest her meal. Tired but pleased with her catch, though still alert in case someone shows up.
Name - Nekumbra (Neck-oom-brah)
Meaning - "Sorrowful Shadows"
Age - 37
Gender - Female
Fur color - Golden brown and white in the sunlight, dark brown and white in shade
Eye color - Dark brown
Powers - She has eight spider legs that come out of her sides, where she is able to climb and maneuver easily. She can shoot webbing from her belly, and she has a weak venom in her fangs. It is also thought that she can perform a mini-deer spell on any adult deer, making them easier for prey.
Weaknesses - She isn't very smart when it comes to trapping her prey, and often does not go after easy targets. Her fur burns when anyone casts the devout pelt on her, causing her to panic and flee the area. She can be temporarily blinded if too much sunlight gets into her eyes.
* In-game, Nekumbra is constantly searching for fawns and minideer to 'eat'. I keep count by when she nuzzles a fawn. If you are a fawn and get nuzzled, no you are not considered 'dead' (I'm not forcing anyone to kill off a character, this is merely for fun), and of course if you are a stag/doe you are more than welcome to 'shoo' Nekumbra if she's approaching a fawn. It won't hurt my feelings at all, in fact it will be fun for me (As long as you're not being a RD and chasing after her long past where she had been). So yeah, please feel free to interact with Nekumbra if you see her in-game.

Liam smiled as he spotted Nekumbra from a distance. He had not seen her in a couple of days, and was relieved to see her well. He trotted up to her, but before he could call out a greeting she turned toward him and began to slowly back away. He stopped short, a confused and hurt look on his face. What was wrong...?
"Ne-Nekumbra? Are you...alright? It's me, Liam," he called out softly, his voice wavering a little even as he cursed himself for it. He was too sensitive, too emotional... He needed to be strong. Strong...
Nekumbra stopped, looking around for the other deer...the one who was so defensive around Nanetta.
When she felt safe, she poke, "Sorry, dearie...I've been on edge since last night...", and then told Nane about Iugulare and Anirapio visiting her again, telling her that she had three days to return to her old ways of eating fawns or else they would come for her.
"I...I don't understand why this Forest hates me so. It was because of Iugulare that I became this monster...and now it seems like so many want to kill me for it. Oh...how I wish this would all just end...", she spoke, drooping her head, a few tears filling in her eyes, "I will never have a chance at peace and rest...not after all that has happened...being chased away, being judged, being persecuted for something I never wanted to happen..."

That...that is horrible!" he exclaimed in horror, not taking into account the irony of Nekumbra's predicament. There was no way he would wish for her to be eaten by this...this monster that was commanding her. What kind of creature could possibly manifest itself in the Forest? He needed to do something... He must look out for her.
Biting his lip, Liam slowly approached Nekumbra as she began to cry. He nuzzled her comfortingly, letting out a sigh and looking at her with sincere eyes. "Nekumbra...no matter what happens, I promise that I will not allow you to be hurt. You will soon be free from your imprisonment...I promise you that." He was not sure of himself at all, but he did hope that she would take some measure of comfort from his words. Perhaps now he will finally stand up for something. Perhaps he can learn to no longer live in fear, or be a coward. He will make a stand for this strange spider-doe, for she deserved a second chance.
The spider doe, still shivering and sobbing, looked over to him. "You'd...you'd really protect me? Even after all the evil I have done?", she questioned. She then looked down, her eyes watering so much that she could no longer see out of them, "How did I ever gain such a friend as you?"
The young buck blinked, taken a little aback by the spider-doe's words. She was so resentful and ashamed of herself that it made his heart ache. "I would," he said softly and with sincerity. "I am not one to judge others who have wronged. I am glad I have gotten to know you, because I now know that beneath your curse you are a gentle and wonderful being."
He smiled softly at the question, giving her shoulder a reassuring nudge. "Sometimes, it is best not to question the good things in life. But then again, I suppose fate has played it at some point," he replied with a soft chuckle.
5/1/11 - "The second day has come, but today I feel much more confident. Eight deer have stepped up and said they will help me fight against my former allies, Iugulare and Anirapio. Even Flammel has offered to help, who still does not like me, and little Luna has said she will be by my side as well.
I can rest a little easier today. I think Woden and Liam said they'd like to have an adventure today. It would keep my mind off of the coming days. I certainly can use a calm day...I cannot remember a time when I had fun...

Out of curiosity, would anyone be willing to try to make a photo edit of a doe with spider legs? I'm really interested in seeing something done that looks like a realistic Nekumbra.
I may have to commission for it, but I didn't know if it would be easy or difficult to do. She'd have the body of a Whitetail Doe with four spider legs on each side of her body (eight in total).
If all else, I could write a story for you in return if you decide to attempt this. I'm really grateful for anything done.
I would like to give it a shot just for fun, because it seems like a nice challenge. I have done photomanips before with horses and whatnot (adding wings, horns, backgrounds, etc.), so this should be pretty interesting. I am not sure when I will be done with it, though. =/
I am not killing off Nekumbra for good. Her dying is part of a roleplay going on, and I couldn't even consider killing her if I wanted to since it would lead to several continuity errors later on (her meeting with Quad as well as the final fight against Iugulare). So please don't be alarmed when you see that she's dead.
Poor, poor Nekumbra... I feel so bad, but I am glad she's coming back. It is refreshing that a character is purposely killed off to advance a plot rather than have them constantly be in god-mode, lol. I look forward to the events that unfold! c:

XD I was wondering who that was haha! Nek tends to slow down after she's eaten already, so it makes a bit of sense why she doesn't always catch her prey. That and older deer will interfere when they see her hunting.

Mhmm, Rutilus was vigilant, Miy was lucky he chased Nekumbra off. He was protecting a bunch of fawns at one point, and Nek was clever and called out to make one of them stray away. When Rutilus ran off to bring them back, Nek quickly snatched up one of the other fawns from the group and ran off.
I'm pretty sure Rut will change his feelings for her, I think he was unsure but wary before.
