I haven't coloured this because that would [my opinion] ruin the lines I drew.
The following concept idea has possibly been chosen by someone else. But if that's so, it won't dampen my inspiration and desire to bring my idea to life.
so far this is what I have:
- Name: lacks a proper name. was recently given a nickname (Ignis) by a close friend of mine. but he'll respond to whatever you want him to be called, regardless.
- Age: very young (for now)
- Gender: lacks this feature, too. prefers the masculine term when being described, though
- Species: unsure. some type of lava elemental
- Smells of: heated sulfur; smoke; iron; other noxious chemicals. the sulfur is very pungent
- "Born" (gained consciousness): near an active volcano. calls it home.
- timid
- awkward
- powerful, but gentle
- friendly until harmed (very similar to zombie pigman behaviour)
- learns by example
Feels unwanted or feared by most he encounters.
Doesn't understand why he was chosen to be alive.
There isn't an image of him yet. But I've developed a short [updated] description:
Highly viscous (thick, oozing) lava and hardened igneous make up the body.
Smoke constantly rises from the superheated portions of his body (excludes the hooves and antlers)
Gas bubbles occasionally form and pop on the surfaces that are still flowing with hot lava. Drips with the stuff. Any lava that falls onto land cools into smooth, grey stones.
Horns and hooves are formed by the cooling of lava which hardens into blackened, peculiar (mostly pointed) shapes. The direction of the wind and his position relative to gravity determine how they will turn out to look like.
His 'eyes' are merely gas pockets that have popped, leaving behind craters, and not what he perceives the world though.
At night, his body can light the ground around him in a 15 ft + radius.
Doesn't require sleep to function. As animals consume food, he consumes fire [whenever available to him].

Past memory
I lay on my side. The world around me is dark. Dark red, like blood fog. I squint at the sky above. This is smoke, not clouds. Ash floats down to meet the steamy, blackened earth. Where am I? Lava forms my whole, flowing within me. I see a forest, or what remains of one. Frantically, a buck runs past, terror flashes in his eyes while fire consumes flesh. I observe what I see, and take its form. Good enough for now. ~
- Retains a semi-human consciousness
- Isn't physically or mentally capable of speaking in a language, despite his intelligence.
- Doesn't think in words. Instead - images, scents and sounds.
- Incapable of facial expressions; he doesn't have muscles. He may look angry, or sad, but not feel that way. Gravity pulls at his lava, sometimes giving him a 'turned-down' mouth.
- Capable of emotions. Learning to grip them firmer.
- Idle/content- scarce flames; retains a constant certain brightness.
- Sad- core of the body becomes darker with reds, oranges and dirty yellows.
- Irritated/surprised- body becomes brighter
- Angry- flames come under his control; he levitates them in a ring, circling his body
- Happy- flames cloak the body
- The color aspect of his vision is corrupted by a thin red haze over everything he sees.
- Physically capable of making his own sounds. bubbling, muffled moans is all he can muster. the sounds he does make can be compared to that of "Zombie Pigmen" from Minecraft
- When the mouth is opened, hot fiery liquid and chunks of igneous rock flows out.
- Immune to fire, but weakened [and risks death] by coming into contact with water. Cold temperatures also can weaken him.
- Anything casted onto him will either burn up or become a part of him, unless the item has been enchanted with a fire-protection spell.
My sources of inspiration: Lavagirl from The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl, the Blaze, Magma Cube, and Zombie Pigman creatures of the "Nether" from Minecraft, the Flame Princess from Adventure Time, and my strange imagination.

I was thinking of making a sort of elemental character as well, except it's likely the complete opposite of yours (made out of leaves, branches, etc). I had the idea a few years ago, but forgot it up until this week :'D.

There is so much to learn and see and do here [and in the game] that my head kind of exploded the first time. But don't worry, as far as I know it only happens to me... >->
I had an idea to make a water elemental last year, but I ended up creating another character. His name is Oaxis. He's blind, but I guess that has nothing to do with water.
Anyway, your idea sounds totally awesome. Would love to rp with this...thing? sometime. :3
