You should have gotten (or be getting) an e-mail from the Tale of Tales team containing a link that, when clicked, will activate the account. Before this is done you can not log into the account.
I know it's an obvious thing, but are you sure you are entering both the account name and the password correctly? Be sure you have capital letters where you need them.
I don't think so. Just try any possible uppercase and lowercase combinations until you find the right one. If that doesn't work, all I can suggest is emails Michael and Auria to change it. It might take them a while to do so, they're busy people with lives outside their games.
