I hate this.

BluedeerLegend18's picture
For weeks I've haven't gotten enough sleep. I don't fall asleep until 1 in the morning or something.

I didn't even get barely enough sleep this morning. I finally fell asleep at 1 and woke up at 5.

I've tried everything. I've tried drinking a glass of milk. I've tried to count backwards. I've tried reading.

I. Still. Can't. Sleep.

I hate this so much, I am so sick of not getting enough sleep at night.

You're not the only one

You're not the only one <3
I've had the same problem for a few weeks, I have no idea how to get some sleep.
Guess I'll try walking around/exercising a bit more. (8
Hope you can find a way too. C:

Try doing something active

Try doing something active and productive during the day, something that involves physical activity. If you tire yourself out physically, you might have better luck falling asleep.

I'm so sorry that's

I'm so sorry that's happening! I'm the same way. It sometimes helps me if I'm very active during the day (Like Terabetha said) and I don't have caffeine a couple hours before I go to bed. Also, try and stay away from electronics. I know they jack me up XD

If you're on the computer a

If you're on the computer a lot, consider getting F.lux. It adjusts the color of the light your screen omits during the day. So when it's daytime, it mimics daylight and at night, the light turns a little more yellowish.

The harsh, blue light of a computer screen actually really messes up your brains circadian rhythm, which tells you when to go to sleep and when you're supposed to be alert. The blue light tells your brain "it's daytime!" when it's actually night.

You can also try drinking some hot chamomile tea c: It's really easy to find and is added to a lot of "sleepy time" teas.

Try listening to some music,

Try listening to some music, especially anything new age like Enigma or Deep Forest. Or any kind of Native American flute music. That usually puts me to sleep really well Eye

Thank you everyone =) I'll

Thank you everyone =) I'll try all of your ideas.

Downloaded Flux, the orange light is weird but I think I can get used to it.

I'll try to exercise more in the day. I've tried walking and bicycling more.

Also have started to listen to more music.

Thanks for the help guys Smiling

I do not know if this will

I do not know if this will work but I have heard recently that eating watermelon can help you sleep. Something in it triggers certain things in your brain that supposedly helps with sleep. Again I am not completely sure if it's true but... worth a try, right?

Oho! -FB F.lux rec is

Oho!

-FB F.lux rec is awesomely efficient.

-If you have to spend a lot of time in your room, make sure it is well lighted during the day, and diminish it in the evening, try to let only a small light on at night.

- Be physically active in the day, be lazy after dinner.

- Herbal infusions do miracles.

- If after a good 15 minutes spend in bed you still can't find sleep, leave your room for a few minutes, and no stress, it's okay.

- Use your bed only to sleep, or when you're about to go to sleep ( to read a book or whatever).

- Remember it's okay not to fall asleep immediatly, and it's okay to be tired, if you aknowledge this, you'll feel more relaxed.

- Digestion can prevent you from sleeping well, warm milk can't be good, try not to eat, drink heavy stuffs, soda etc. after dinner.

- http://www.rainymood.com/ as ambient sound ?

- Avoid coffee/tea(infusions are good!)/cola/energy drink.

- Try changing your cushion XD. I'm serious.
If it's hot in your room, use a finer blanket.

- Wear light clothes at night, your body needs to regulate/diminish it's temperature to sleep, heating it isn't helping at all.

- Having troubles sleeping once in a while is normal, don't focus too much on it, no need to worry at all. Smiling

- Last ( a bad one) advice, not healthy at all, in case sleeping become something you're really anxious about, not a wise solution but efficient. Pull an allnighter, you'll sleep like a baby the day after.

I find I stay up even later

I find I stay up even later after an all nighter because my body no longer recognizes how exhausted it is. Adrenaline may also be pumped into your system to keep you awake which can make you feel a little sick and jittery.

In addition to Nayu's advice. Create a pattern. Follow it every night without fail.
It's worth the effort. Sleep deprivation is worse for your health than drinking, smoking, and obesity. Especially at a young age, sleep is critical to your development.
Take care.

I don't strive to be the best, but instead I strive to do my best, and always give it my all every time.

Also, before I forget: -You

Also, before I forget:

-You sleep better in a room with cool temperature.

-Wake up with very bright light, it helps reset your biological clock.

Umm, in french Tea isn't the same thing as Infusions, I can't find if the distinction is made in english too, anything herbal is good.

- Try going to bed and wake at the same hour everyday for a while.

- If you focus too much on the problem it will make you more anxious, unless it drags for weeks on,
be patient and don't worry too much.

If nothing change, go see a doctor, and please, refuse categorically sleeping pills, expect if made out of plants.

Or dream of Nayu's cute butt.

Yup, take care! <3
